Critical thinking in writing
This paper undertakes a review of the literature on critical thinking in writing with the goal of developing a framework for understanding the relation between critical thinking and critical writing. Theoretically, writing is an effective way of engaging students in critical thinking. The development of writing skill is affected by many aspects involved in the process of generating the dynamic of critical thinking and both reading and writing critically. Definition, conceptions and key characteristics of critical thinking are elaborated comprehensively to highlight critical thinking. Furthermore, the issue of critical thinking rooted from Bloom’s taxonomy is also presented. To break down the critical thinking skills reflected in learner’s writing, teachers can make use of Bloom hierarchy of cognitive domain. Stages of critical thinking are also discussed in depth. This paper also proposes a cyclic model of critical writing that emerges from a review of the literature on the strong emphasis on writing as an integrated critical thinking process. Writing and critical thinking have obviously strong link across different courses and various contexts as it is generalizable. Accordingly, writing critically should incorporate the teaching and learning of critical thinking skills which involve well-designed and specific assessment model

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan media pembelajaran fisika berbasis multimedia interaktif dengan menggunakan software adobe flash dan XML pada pokok bahasan Hukum Newton tentang gerak; (2) mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran fisika berbasis multimedia interaktif menggunakan software adobe flash dan XML pada pokok bahasan Hukum Newton tentang gerak yang dikembangkan; (3) mengetahui pencapaian hasil belajar siswa setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran fisika berbasis multimedia interaktif terintegrasi dengan lembar kerja siswa hasil pengembangan.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang mengacu pada model yang dikemukakan oleh Sugiyono dilaksanakan dari bulan Juli 2013 hingga Mei 2014. Kelayakan media divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media dan praktisi. Subjek Uji coba penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA N 3 Sukoharjo tahun akademik 2013/2014 sebanyak 43 siswa dengan rincian 10 siswa sebagai subjek ujicoba produk dan 33 siswa sebagai subjek ujicoba pemakaian.
Berdasarkan hasil analisis data disimpulkan: (1) media pembelajaran fisika berbasis multimedia interaktif terintegrasi dengan lembar kerja siswa berhasil dikembangkan dengan menggunakan software adobe flash dan XML dengan hasil produk dikemas dalam keeping CD yang didalamnya berisi software utama media dan beberapa file pendukung dari media tersebut. Media disajikan dengan dua pembagian materi yaitu materi pembelajaran dan materi penjelasan yang diproteksi serta berisi bank soal yang dapat diupdate. Media pembelajaran dikembangkan dengan mengacu pada langkah yang diberikan oleh Sugiyono dan telah tervalidasi; (2) media pembelajaran fisika berbasis multimedia interaktif terintegrasi dengan lembar kerja siswa yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dengan kategori baik; (3) pencapaian hasil belajar peserta didik setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran fisika berbasis multimedia interaktif terintegrasi dengan lembar kerja siswa mengalami peningkatan.

The articles written by TBI Postgraduate students of IAIN Kediri supervised by Dr. Rohmani Nur Indah, M.Pd. and Dr. Galuh Nur Rohmah, M.Ed., M.Pd. are very interesting and need to be compiled into a book. Thus the results of their thoughts can be read and reviewed by all academicians, whether by students, teachers, lecturers, or those with interest in science. Besides that, it can also provide benefits in educational institutions ranging from elementary schools to universities. The main themes included technology in learning English, teaching and managing English classes, assessment in learning English, proficiency, and skills in learning English. To improve the quality and quality of education in the digital era, technology is a necessity that cannot be negotiated because it is part of the world of education and learning, especially in learning English. Indeed, technology alone is not enough to support successful learning. It is necessary to prepare learning resources, including teachers who can understand classroom strategy and management. Thus, in today‘s digital era, teachers‘ requirement to be considered professional is not only enough to have personality, social, pedagogic, and academic competencies, but one more competency, namely technological competence, is necessary. In learning English, assessment is an evaluation task that must be carried out by a teacher to their students to help the language learning process properly. The aim is to improve the ability of students or students through learning outcomes tests or diagnostic assessments. In learning English, it is not enough to only assess students from the cognitive side of vocabulary and syntax and the ability of students to communicate with English. More than that, they can create and interpret the meaning spoken, not only skillfully speaking but also able to integrate it with their knowledge and experience. This is where students‘ abilities are needed to analyze text, and then it is described under the current context. Therefore, the teacher‘s assessment of students is not sufficient only at midterm and final tests. It can also be done in any learning process through continuous observation of students‘ knowledge, student skills, and complete assignments
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
