Sylwester Chęciński w labiryncie decyzji produkcyjnych filmu o Szarych Szeregach
The author describes press reports on the preparations of Sylwester Chęciński for the film about scouts from Szare Szeregi. The scenario was based on a bestseller written by Aleksander Kamiński entitled Kamienie na szaniec Stones for the earthwork. Although the press assured that Sylwester Chęciński had already started working, the film was produced only eight years later, and the director was Jan Łomnicki. An interesting topic of these considerations are personal relationships. Andrzej Wajda was working on the screenplay for Kaminski’s book with Valentin Jeżow. In turn, the movie Agnieszka 46, directed by Sylwester Chęciński, was severely attacked by Zbigniew Załuski. Valentin Jeżow and Zbigniew Załuski became screenwriters for the film Legenda Legend directed by Sylwester Chęciński. It is not clear from the press notes whether Sylwester Chęciński stopped the preparations for the film about the Szare Szeregi for this cooperation or was forced to abandon them for the Polish-Soviet co-production.Sylwester Chęciński in the maze of film production decisions about the Szare SzeregiThe author describes press reports on the preparations of Sylwester Chęciński for the film about scouts from Szare Szeregi. Koncepcje słowiańskie polskich ugrupowań nacjonalistycznych w okresie II wojny światowej
The period of the Second World War is the centre of attention for two Polish
historians: Sylwester Fertacz and Ryszard Kaczmarek. The former describes the
Panslavic conceptions of the Polish nationalist (mainly nationalist Catholic) factions at
that time. According to them, the independence of the Polish state had to be secured by
constructing a Greater Poland, greater in the geographical but also in the demographic
and military respect. The realisation of this idea was to be based on the co-operation of
the Slavic nations aimed at integrating the states of the Central and Southern Europe.
Ryszard Kaczmarek, on the other hand, focuses on the German national policy on the
territories incorporated into the Reich in the years 1939—1945, that is in: Pomerania,
Greater Poland (Wielkopolska), Silesia, Luxemburg, Lorraine, Alsace, Lower Styria,
Camiola. The author notices both the common and the individual features of this
policy
Selected Remarks on the Syntactic Aspect of Paterykon by Sylwester Kossow (1635)
The paper discusses a selection of issues relating to the syntactic structure of Paterykon, as translated by Sylwester Kossow. These observations are put in the context of the specialist literature devoted to the status of the Polish language in the 17th century, including its Borderland dialectal varieties.
The analysis focuses on the following syntactic structures: causal constructions – with preposition, with infinitive (modelled on the Latin n.c.i and a.c.i. constructions), syntax of negative sentence constructions (single negation after the conjunction ani [either]), syntax of quotes (a merger of reported and direct speech constructions), numerals, and the semantics of the subordinators (iż [that], jeśli [if], skoro [if/unless]). A more important part of the analysis concerns the use of grammatical tenses in the text. The analysis shows that tenses are not always ordered logically in the complement sentences with the adverbial of time as well in the complex complement sentences (the present tense expresses an action taking place prior to the one signalled by the perfect tense).
The examination helps to discover the systemic parallelism between the analysed text and the 17th-century Northern Borderland Polish language variety. At the same time, by pointing out to the systemic discrepancies between the text and the above-mentioned language variety, the author indicates that Paterykon should be classified as representative of a regional variety of Polish

Abstract
The aim of the reported study was to determine the level of knowledge and awareness of consumers regarding the safety of dairy products. The perception of dairy products safety was evaluated through diagnostic survey among 206 respondents from the Warmia and Mazury Province and the Mazowieckie Province selected for the survey with the convenient sampling method. Obtained results demonstrate that consumers’ knowledge about safety of these products is scanty, but show also that the safety level perceived by consumers is unsatisfactory. It would, therefore, be advisable to undertake actions aimed at increasing consumer awareness concerning the safety of dairy products.

Aktualne problemy zarządzania archeologicznym dziedzictwem kulturowym
The article analyses issues related to the protection of archaeological heritage, understood holistically, i.e. traditional conservation (sites protection in situ) and museology (ex post protection). Providing numerous examples and quoting the opinions of other archaeologists, the author confirms the diagnosis of inefficiency of the current system of protection, its numerous gaps and inconsistencies. In conclusion the author presents a proposal for a new legal regulation - the Act on the Protection of Archaeological Heritage
On parabasis in its ancient sources
Modern reflection on a literary work uses the term "parabasis", which has been borrowed from
ancient tradition. In the article the author goes back to the very sources of parabasis and reminds
the meaning of the word parabasis which in Greek means departure from something, leaving the
stage and the chorus remains to address the audience directly and in reference to Old Attic comedy,
with which it is unequivocally associated, it means the structural part of a literary work in
which a suspense of dramatic action occurs. Particular parabases were discussed which are found
in the extant comedies of Aristophanes, this in order to find out that in none of the comedies it
occurs in its complete model form as accepted by classical philologists on the basis of material
known from Aristophanes and from fragments of comedies by other authors. The practical function
of parabasis and its particular parts were shown on the example of The Knights by Aristophanes.
In the final part of the article the author presented some contemporary views on parabasis
of which some speak traditionally about breaking the scenic illusion while the others about
the integral relation of parabasis with the other parts of the comedy. The author concludes that in
spite of all parabases in Greek comedy have no parallel either in the earlier or in the later Greek
literature. It has its own poetics, its own structure, and explicitly breaks science illusion, even if
Greeks differently viewed the very phenomenon of breaking illusion in drama
O współczesnych problemach z prawdą. Refleksje w świetle eseju Harry’ego G. Frankfurta O wciskaniu kitu (On Bullshit)
This article is an attempt to present one of the vital features of modernculture, namely indifference to truth. In the context of proclaiming the expression “post-truth” the Word of the Year 2016, the author shows how thismodern indifference should be understood. It is explained by recalling theessay of Harry G. Frankfurt entitled On Bullshit. This short text presentsa certain characteristic trait of modern times, that is, a certain attitudeto truth typical of the contemporary man. What is interesting is that it isconvergent with the meaning of the very expression that has recently madesuch a spectacular career and became the Word of the Year.In the first part of the article the author presents the history of the term“post-truth”, its basic meaning and the context in which it was created andis now used. The term “bullshit” is then treated in a similar way. In the thirdpart of the article the main thoughts of Frankfurt’s essay are referred to. It ispointed out that this short essay, written already in the 1980s, proves to bestill valid up until today. For in his essay Frankfurt does not describe anypolitical reality, social or medial one, saturated with dishonesty, disinformation, lies and manipulation. He does not attempt to present various types of examples of “bullshit”. Instead, as befits a philosopher, he goes deeper and attempts to reach the essence of this phenomenon. In this way he draws an unusually accurate image of the modern man for whom truth has lost its significance, for whom there has grown between truth and lies – contrary to any logic – a whole sphere of bullshit, or otherwise post-truth. In the fourth part of the article the author points out the sources of such a situation. He talks about the rejection of the realistic, classical way of understanding truth and, in relation to it, about turning away from reality, that is from facts. In the last part the author explains that in modern times in place ofreality (as an important point of reference) the criterion of coherence anddemocratic consensus has been introduced, or – what fits well into theculture of “bullshit” – the criterion of practicality and usefulness. Insteadof thinking in terms of objective order, it is therefore proposed that oneshould think and act in terms of subjectively perceived advantages. At thispoint the author refers to Richard Rorty’s philosophical conception andshows that Rorty’s end of philosophy, the abandonment of the search forthe ultimate foundations of cognition, for the discovery of truth, for thedominant idea of „contingency” and usefulness, and his „language games”are all excellent illustrations of what a man of the era of post-truth, the eraof indifference to truth, nourishes
LDL-cholesterol and platelets: Insights into their interactions in atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis and its complications, including acute coronary syndromes, are the major cause of death worldwide. The two most important pathophysiological mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis include increased platelet activation and increased low-density lipoproteins (LDL) concentration. In contrast to LDL, oxidized (ox)-LDL have direct pro-thrombotic properties by functional interactions with platelets, leading to platelet activation and favoring thrombus formation. In this review, we summarize the currently available evidence on the interactions between LDL-cholesterol and platelets, which are based on (i) the presence of ox-LDL-binding sites on platelets, (ii) generation of ox-LDL by platelets and (iii) the role of activated platelets and ox-LDL in atherosclerosis. In addition, we elaborate on the clinical implications of these interactions, including development of the new therapeutic possibilities. The ability to understand and modulate mechanisms governing interactions between LDL-cholesterol and platelets may offer new treatment strategies for atherosclerosis prevention
