Simulation outputs of DynSoM model and instrumental data for Samoylov Island's polygonal tundra
These datasets include the observational data and the Dynamic Soil Model (DynSoM) outputs of a polygonal tundra artic environment located in the quaternary sediments of Samoylov island. the data is gathered (SamValidation.mat) and simulated at the centre (output_center.mat) and rim (output_rim.mat) of one of the polygons, which correspond to wet and dry tundra conditions respectively. This dataset Is used as a primary data output for the figures of the article "Mechanistic Modelling of Segregated Ice and Soil Heave Dynamics in Artic Soils" by Xavier Rodriguez-Lloveras, Melanie A. Thurner Philipp Porada & Christian Beer, Universität Hamburg. Submitted to "The Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems (JAMES)" on February 2023.
The datasets are published as MATLAB matrix format and require adequate MATLAB (or equivalent) software for visualization.
The validation data (SamValidation.mat) is a subset of the data published by Boike et al. (2019, doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.905236) adapted to the DynSoM model requirements
Dynamic Soil Model figures for Samoylov Island
This program plots the figures of the article "Mechanistic Modelling of Segregated Ice and Soil Heave Dynamics in Artic Soils" by Xavier Rodriguez-Lloveras, Melanie A. Thurner Philipp Porada & Christian Beer, Universität Hamburg. Submitted to "The Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems (JAMES)" on February 2023. The program is coded in MATLAB and its results mainly compare the DynSoM model results with data recorded in two environments located in the polygonal tundra of Samoylov island, primarily as a monthly statistics from January 2003 to December 2016. For references, further information and sources used for the simulations, please refer to the source article.
This repository contains two windows executables. the file "DynSoM_Samoylov_JAMES.exe" is a package which include the installation of MATLAB Runtime.
the file "figures_Samoylov_DynSoM_model_JAMES.exe" only runs the results of the model but requires a previously installed version of MATLAB or MATLAB Runtim

The book brings together historical memories of the Xavier family, of which the author is a member, and includes everything from the heroic episode between members of the Xavier family and Lampião's gang, to a Xavier family tree and tributes to the members of this family, as well as photographic records of known members. The author rescues and preserves important memories of the family, reconstructing facts that, if told orally, could gradually be erased. The story told by Maria do Socorro Cardoso Xavier is also a way of preserving the memory of Ipueira, reporting on the social life and historical setting of the place, using family narrative.O livro reúne registros de memórias históricas da família Xavier, da qual a autora é membro,
A autora resgata e preserva memórias
Sterling Houston Papers
Letter from Robert Xavier Rodriguez, president of the Texas Composers Forum, to Sterling Houston, a prominent Texan playwright. His organization awarded a grant to Mr. Houston's theatre company. The two attended the same high school, and Robert has taken the opportunity to catch up. He hopes that the two can get together. Along with his letter, he has attached several clippings of work he has done as a music composer, including a stage play about Friday Kahlo, noted Mexican painter
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Uxa Xavier is a Brazilian dance artist, teacher and researcher. In 2010, she created the group Lagartixa na Janela, which has been developing investigations and artistic productions between the universe of childhood, dance and public spaces in the city. Based on experiences and reflections on the fundamentality of art and its teaching in public schools in the current Brazilian scenario, the interviewer proposes conducting an interview with the artist to compose the dossier for the Extension Project Embodyment poetics in pandemic landscapes: creating communities to revive affections with the city. The interview focuses on the group's actions and projects between 2020 and 2021, the most intense period of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the years 2022 and 2023, when it gradually returns to face-to-face activities. With the choice of this time frame, it was intended to know the interviewee's perceptions and reflections on the powers of dance in pandemic and post-pandemic landscapes, and more specifically, her attention to a choreo-childhood for times of reunion.
