The present paper aims to provide a contribution to the self-clarification of social scientists with regard to the using and abusing of the concept of "lifeworld" [Lebenswelt] and its surrogates. With this aim, the author adopts a dual approach which draws upon the one used by the late Husserl in Krisis, namely: the combination of (a) genealogical reflections on the origins and historical itinerary of the concept with (b) phenomenological descriptions of the "thing itself". More precisely, I will try to systematically reconstruct Edmund Husserl's phenomenological "proto-foundation" [Urstiftung] and Alfred Schutz's "reprise" of the Lebenswelt.Fil: Gros, Alexis Emanuel. Representing Roomates' Preferences with Symmetric Utilities
In the context of the stable roommates problem, it is shown that acyclicity of preferences is equivalent to the existence of symmetric utility functions, i.e. the utility of agent i when matched with j is the same as j 's utility when matched with i .
\"Study of Sapindus saponaria fruit?s extracts rich on saponins and other glycosides and their application in capillary electrophoresis\"
Sapindus saponaria is a very abundant species in São Carlos and others regions of Brazil. Fruits of S. saponaria have a high content of glycosides which possess well-defined regions of hydrophobic and hydrophilic feature denominated amphiphilic molecule. Thus, this can form a foam showing chemical proprieties equals to surfactants. Some glycosides belong to class of saponins and are composed of carbonic structure designates aglycone, which is linked in one or two sugar chains. The purpose of the present study was the use of glycosides due to their surfactants properties in further applications of capillary electrophoresis. The extraction of crude fruits was carried out with methanol and this extract was fractionated in Sephadex LH-20. The fractions were analyzed for mass spectrometry and studied in capillary electrophoresis (CE). This is a feasible technique for the study of fractions obtained. Although a high degree of purity was not reached, the fraction B were used as additive for the electrolyte background in MEKC. The nitrobenzene showed different interaction with micellar system in the electrolyte background with fraction B
Location, Location, Location: Entrepreneurial Finance Meets Economic Geography
Economic Geography maintains that economic activities are not randomly distributed across space. This paper examines the impact of industrial and regional characteristics on venture capital activities in the United States from 1995 until 2009. The unique database allows for stratifications into seventeen industries within nineteen regions of the United States. This study affirms the significance of both Location and industry in venture capital investment. Both statistical and graphical methods are employed in order to better ascertain the dynamic nature of the data.Venture Capital; Economic Geography; Location; Biotechnology; Business Products and Services; Computers and Peripherals; Consumer Products and Services; Electronics and Instrumentation; Financial Services; Healthcare Services; Industrial and Energy; Information Technology Services; Media and Entertainment; Medical Devices and Equipment; Networking and Equipment; Retailing and Distribution; Semiconductors; Software; Telecommunications.

A sample of ninety four people was inquired: managers, directors and owners
of micro and small companies. They have been invited do describe their
perceptions of barriers to innovation: They have been also invited to suggest
measures for de removal of such barriers.
The four main referred barriers were: resistance or lack of will to change and
aversion to risk, lack of strategic vision, organizational culture, cost and lack of
financial resources.
The proposal of measures most cited were: strategy, organization, education
and worker's qualification, and communication/information.
We intend with this essay to divulge the barriers and suggest measures to
remove them, promoting Innovation and Knowledge in Portugal, in this
particular group of enterprises.
The contribution of the companies' managers, directors and owners in this
essay improved the knowledge about their perception and the questions being
issued, adding value to the obtained results
Optimal Monetary Rules: The Case of Brazil
Within a dynamic programming approach we derive an optimal rule for the central bank to attain it's inflation targeting goals. The short-run nominal interest rate is used as an instrument to achieve monetary objectives. The model is tested for the Brazilian economy and compared with results found for other countries. Evidence for the estimated feedback interest rule for the Central Bank suggests that the cost of reducing inflation in an open economy is lower than that of a closed economy.
Macroeconomic Coordination and Inflation Targeting in a Two-Country Model
This paper deals with a macroeconomic coordination and its stabilization within a new Keynesian framework. The dynamic treatment of a twocountry model is made by simulation, using the linear quadratic algorithm. We compare the optimal monetary policy rule for three types of equilibria: macroeconomic coordination, Nash and Stackelberg, using parameters that reflect the relative size and degree of openness of the economies. Under the strict inflation target, we obtain higher output and inflation volatilities due to each economy's reaction to the other country's policy. The only exception is the case of optimal macroeconomic coordination rules. This dynamic model finds that macroeconomic coordination policy is better than non-coordination rules, supporting the traditional result found in static models.
