The portrayal of Muhammad in Thomas Carlyle's The Hero as Prophet and Akhtar Rizvi's The Life of Muhammad
This research focused on the portrayal of Muhammad as the world figure who described through two different authors’ viewpoints. Carlyle, a non-Muslim author, interpreted Muhammad based on the Christian point of view while Rizvi, a Muslim author, described Muhammad based on Muslim history. In conducting this study, Comparative Analysis by Steven Totosy de Zepetnek, Rene Wellek and Austin Warren used as a theory to find similarity and different aspects in two or more literary works. This research is formulated into three issues: 1) How is Muhammad portrayed in The Hero as Prophet by Thomas Carlyle? 2) How is Muhammad portrayed by The Life of Muhammad by Akhtar Rizvi? 3) What are the similarity and different aspects of Muhammad in The Hero as Prophet by Thomas Carlyle and The Life of Muhammad by Akhtar Rizvi? This research used qualitative research to make a subjective assessment through collecting data, analysis, interpretation and report writing. The result of this research is the similarity and different aspect in conveying the figure of Muhammad. The similarities consist of Muhammad’s family background, the story of marriage, mission and setting of place and time in the Muhammad’s story. Carlyle and Rizvi accepted Muhammad as the one who has influenced in spreading the divine concept for human being. However, both of them have different views in accepting Muhammad as the messenger of God. Carlyle did not believe in Muhammad as a prophet and regarded him as a hero in his age. While Rizvi believed Muhammad is a prophet, the bearer of truth. The other differences are also found in the style of writing. Carlyle used essay to elaborate his opinions, in his work, the researcher also found the usage of figurative language such as paradox and sarcasm. In other sides, Rizvi used historical biography that clearly explained Muhammad from his birth to death. The last is the analysis of point of view to know authors’ motif.
ABSTRAK
Fokus penelitian ini adalah penggambaran Muhammad sebagai tokoh dunia yang diceritakan melalui dua sudut pandang penulis. Carlyle, seorang penulis non-Muslim, menginterpretasikan Muhammad berdasarkan sudut pandang orang Kristen. The Hero as Prophet karya Thomas Carlyle?

KOMPARASI PENANGANAN KASUS KEJAHATAN MONEY LAUNDERING OLEH NATIONAL CENTRAL BUREAU (NCB)-INTERPOL INDONESIA (Studi Kasus: Muhammad Nazaruddin dan Rafat Ali Rizvi-Hesham Al-Warraq)
ABSTRACT
This thesis aims to study and examine further the role
of National Central Bureau (NCB)-Interpol Indonesia in
handling criminal cases of money laundering in
Indonesia. The case study highlighted was the case of
Muhammad Nazaruddin and the case of Bank Century bailout
involving two controlling shareholders, Rafat Ali
Rizvi and Hesham Al-Warraq. Both of these cases
illustrate two dimensions, namely the success of which
is illustrated by the success of NCB Interpol Indonesia
to repatriate Muhammad Nazaruddin, and failure is
illustrated by the failure of INCB Interpol ndonesia in
repatriating Rafat Ali Rizvi and Hesham al-Warraq.

The Complete Muhammad Ali
Including material and photographs not included in most of the 100 other books about the champion, Ishmael Reed's The Complete Muhammad Ali is more than just a biography-it is a fascinating portrait of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. An honest, balanced portrayal of Ali, the book includes voices that have been omitted from other books. It charts Ali's evolution from Black Nationalism to a universalism, but does not discount the Nation of Islam and Black Nationalism's important influence on his intellectual development. Filipino American author Emil Guillermo speaks about how "The Thrilla' In Manila" brought the Philippines into the 20th century. Fans of Muhammad Ali, boxing fans, and those interested in modern African American history and the Nation of Islam will be fascinated by this biography by an accomplished American author.Intro -- DEDICATION -- INTRODUCTION -- The Curious History of an Icon -- CHAPTER 1 -- CHAPTER 2 -- CHAPTER 3 -- CHAPTER 4 -- CHAPTER 5 -- CHAPTER 6 -- CHAPTER 7 -- Did the Secret Government Fear a U.S. Muslim/Overseas Muslim Alliance? -- CHAPTER 8 -- CHAPTER 9 -- The Break Between the Prophet and his Disciple -- CHAPTER 10 -- CHAPTER 11 -- CHAPTER 12 -- The GOAT (Greatest Of All Time): Ali or Louis? -- CHAPTER 13 -- The Nation of Islam, the Mob, Showdowns in Canada and Sonny Liston -- CHAPTER 14 -- CHAPTER 15 -- The Taunts: Marketing or Racism? -- CHAPTER 16 -- CHAPTER 17 -- CHAPTER 18 -- CHAPTER 19 -- Boxing and the Brain -- CHAPTER 20 -- Ali's Feet -- CHAPTER 21 -- Mr. Dick -- CHAPTER 22 -- CHAPTER 23 -- The Opening Ceremonies, November 2005 -- CHAPTER 24 -- December 2005, Las Vegas -- CHAPTER 25 -- CHAPTER 26 -- June 16, 2004 -- CHAPTER 27 -- CHAPTER 28 -- CHAPTER 29 -- Aix-en-Provence -- CHAPTER 30 -- Ali as a Black Nationalist -- San Francisco, January 2004 Black Liberation Book Fair -- CHAPTER 31 -- January 31, 2004 -- CHAPTER 32 -- October 2005, Chicago -- CHAPTER 33 -- Why Ali remained with Elijah instead of following Malcolm -- CHAPTER 34 -- CHAPTER 35 -- February 4, 2006, Oakland, California -- CHAPTER 36 -- Like Zeus Descending from Mount Olympus -- CHAPTER 37 -- CHAPTER 38 -- Tuesday, February 28, 2006, New York -- CHAPTER 39 -- Bigger Than Boxing -- CHAPTER 40 -- Tribes Gallery, New York, April 2006 -- CHAPTER 41 -- June 2006, Louisville, Kentucky -- CHAPTER 42 -- CHAPTER 43 -- CHAPTER 45 -- Bad Company -- CHAPTER 46 -- Coxson, A Very Charming Rogue -- CHAPTER 47 -- Ali and the largest embezzlement scheme in Wells Fargo history -- CHAPTER 48 -- CHAPTER 49 -- "Lonnie is a stabilizing force."-Harry Belafonte -- October 29, 2006 -- CHAPTER 50 -- Abdul Rahman -- CHAPTER 51 -- CHAPTER 52 -- CHAPTER 53How Will Ali Be Remembered? A General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU)-Accelerated Robotic Controller Using a Low Power Mobile Platform
Robotic controllers have to execute various complex independent tasks repeatedly. Massive processing power is required by the motion controllers to compute the solution of these computationally intensive algorithms. General-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU)-enabled mobile phones can be leveraged for acceleration of these motion controllers. Embedded GPUs can replace several dedicated computing boards by a single powerful and less power-consuming GPU. In this paper, the inverse kinematic algorithm based numeric controllers is proposed and realized using the GPGPU of a handheld mobile device. This work is the extension of a desktop GPU-accelerated robotic controller presented at DAS’16 where the comparative analysis of different sequential and concurrent controllers is discussed. First of all, the inverse kinematic algorithm is sequentially realized using Arduino-Due microcontroller and the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is used for its parallel implementation. Execution speeds of these controllers are compared with two different GPGPU architectures (Nvidia Quadro K2200 and Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet), programmed with Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) computing language. Experimental data shows that the proposed mobile platform-based scheme outperform s the FPGA by 5 and boasts a 100 speedup over the Arduino-based sequential implementation
