    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

Sebelum melakukan penelitian pada kenyataannya penerapan. Penerapan Media flanelgraf untuk Meningkatkan Kecerdasan Bahasa Anak Kelompok B Di RA Nurul Yaqin. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah Penerapan Media flanelgraf untuk Meningkatkan Kecerdasan Bahasa Anak Kelompok B Di RA Nurul Yaqin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan bahasa anak. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus dengan empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi dengan menggunakan instrumen observasi, unjuk kerja, dan dokumentasi. Hasil observasi dan penilaian pada PTK ini, yaitu penelitian PTK mengenai penerapan media flanelgraf untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan bahasa anak pada saat pra siklus 34%, tergolong masih sangat rendah, Pada siklus I kemampuan anak meningkat menjadi 52%. Dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 75%. Kemudian siklus III meningkat menjadi 87%. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III dapat Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kecerdasan Bahasa Anak Di RA nurul yaqin Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017

    Pragmatic Case Studies as a Source of Unity in Applied Psychology

    To unify or not to unify applied psychology: that is the question. In this article we review pendulum swings in the historical efforts to answer this question—from a comprehensive, positivist, “top-down,” deductive yes between the 1930s and the early 60s, to a postmodern no since then. A rationale and proposal for a limited, “bottom-up,” inductive yes in applied psychology is then presented, employing a case-based paradigm that integrates both positivist and postmodern themes and components. This paradigm is labeled “pragmatic psychology” and, its specific use of case studies, the “Pragmatic Case Study Method” (“PCS Method”). We call for the creation of peer-reviewed journal-databases of pragmatic case studies as a foundational source of unifying applied knowledge in our discipline. As one example, the potential of the PCS Method for unifying different angles of theoretical regard is illustrated in an area of applied psychology, psychotherapy, via the case of Mrs. B. The article then turns to the broader historical and epistemological arguments for the unifying nature of the PCS Method in both applied and basic psychology.Peer reviewe

    Background: Management of medical records file storage in Panti Rini Hospital Kalasan irregular, causing difficulty in the search. From the interview at the time that the information obtained preliminary study Panti Rini Hospital Kalasan plan combines two active file storage space. From the above considerations the designer plans to redesign the effective storage space, comfortable, safe, healthy, and efficient based on the principles of ergonomics in Panti Rini Hospital Kalasan both for officers and file. Design Methods: The theme used in this design is the design of the interior space science filing related to ergonomics are good and true. The idea of re-designing the interior design of the space to suit flling ergomoni science, in order to create space filing a healthy, safe, and convenient for users. Design phase consists of: 1) identification, 2) Pre-design, and 3) design. Results: Pre-Design Phase: The storage space on the active medical record file Panti Rini Hospital Kalasan divided into 2 with a room size measuring 7.5 m x 2.9 m, while the B measuring 4m x 1,4 m. A room there are 6 open shelves, 6 lights and 5 lights on the side, this room has only one entrance and exit vents 5 small corner of the room as a place of entry of the light, and there is no Air Conditioning (AC) and the fan in this room. Space B there are 2 open shelves, 2 lights on, 7 small vents, and 2 window and found no air conditioning or fan. The design phase consists of: 1) Calculate the amount of shelving needs for 5 years showed 10 racks. 2) Determine the appropriate shelf generated based upon the principles of ergonomics open shelving with metal shelves specification of Brother Metal Model B-902 which is modified into a metal rack 2 face models. This model has a metal rack 180 cm tall, the average height of Indonesia has a range of 150 cm and 30 cm hand up so if you want to take a file that does not need to top up the stairs, and it reduces the risk of accidents on the medical records clerk. Their respective shaft height is 36 cm, is adapted to the shape of the existing medical record file at Panti Rini Hospital Kalasan measuring 30 cm long and 22 cm high

    Latar belakang penelitian ini diawali oleh hasil data awal yang menunjukkan kondisi kemampuan sains dalam mengenal sebab akibat banjir melalui strategi pembelajaran anak di TK Mustika Rini yang sangat kurang. Hal itu terlihat saat anak belum mengetahui sebab akibat banjir dan prosesnya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka peneliti mencoba menerapkan strategi pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sains dalam mengenal sebab akibat banjir melalui strategi pembelajaran berbasis proyek pada kelompok B TK Mustika Rini Rungkut Surabaya. Jenis penelitian ini ádalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok B TK Mustika Rini Rungkut Surabaya tahun ajaran 2013-2014 yang berjumlah 20 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data pada siklus I, peningkatan kemampuan sains dalam mengenal sabab akibat banjir diperoleh 65%. Hal ini menunjukkan penelitian tindakan kelas ini belum berhasil oleh karena pencapaian tingkat perkembangan anak yang diharapkan 80%,  maka penelitian ini berlanjut pada siklus II. Pada siklus II diperoleh data kemampuan sains dalam mengenal sabab akibat banjir melalui metode proyek mencapai 85%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode proyek dapat meningkatkan kemampuan sains dalam mengenal sebab akibat banjir pada anak.  Kata kunci : Kemampuan sains, Proyek   Abstract The background of this research is begin with the result that showed a condition science ability to recognize cause and effects of flood through strategy learning for kids in mustika rini kindegarden are very low. It looks when a children didn’t know the cause and effects of flood and the process. Based on that, the researcher try to implied a strategy of learning based of project. The purpose of this research is to increase science ability for knowing cause and effects through learning strategy base project to playgroup b mustikarini kindegarden rungkut surabaya. This kind of research is using a class action method. The subject of the research is children at Mustikarini kindegarden rungkut surabaya 2013-2014 consist of 20 children. The data collection technique are observation and documentation. Technique to analys the data are static and description. Based on the result of the 1 cycle, the increase of science ability for knowing cause and effect of flood only 65%. It means that the research still didn’t get the true result because the criteria that  is needed is 80%, so the research is still continue to the second cycle.     Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindak kelas dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, dan subjek penelitian yang berjumlah 21 anak yang diambil dengan teknik populasi secara keseluruhan. Tempat penelitian di kelompok B TK Wisma Rini Semboro dengan menggunakan purposive area. Data dan sumber data dibagi menjadi dua yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari perhitungan hasil observasi dan data sekunder diperoleh dari kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rumus klasikal yang dihitung secara manual. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui aktivitas bermain dapat mengembangkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak kelompok B di TK Wisma Rini Semboro. Hasil pelaksanaan pembelajaran melalui aktivitas bermain dapat dilihat melalui tingkat keberhasilan tindakan yang telah dilakukan pada setiap tahapan siklus yang mengalami peningkatan. Kondisi awal kemampuan motorik kasar anak dapat diketahui bahwa anak dengan kriteria belum baik sebanyak 76,19%, selanjutnya anak dengan anak pada kriteria cukup baik sebanyak 9,52%, dan anak pada kriteria baik sebanyak 14,28%. Setelah diadakan tindakan pada siklus I kemampuan motorik kasar anak mengalami peningkatan yaitu anak pada kriteria belum baik sebanyak 9,52%, selanjutnya anak dengan kriteria cukup baik sebanyak 38,09 %, anak pada kriteria baik sebanyak 52,38%. Pada siklus II kemampuan motorik kasar anak dengan kriteria belum baik sebanyak 4,76%, selanjutnya anak dengan kriteria cukup baik juga menurun menjadi 14,28 %, sedangkan anak pada kriteria baik meningkat sebanyak 80.95%. Dengan kalkulasi peningkatan kemampuan motorik kasar anak sebesar 80,95% maka dapat dikatakan bahwa kemampuan motorik kasar anak berada pada kriteria baik atau meningkat
