ENGLISH:
This research is motivated by the researcher’s concern regarding the limited hours allocated to the "Maharoh Kitabah" (writing skills) course. On the other hand, this course is offered before students take foundational courses such as syntax and morphology, which results in many errors found in the final assignments of the Kitabah course. This also confirms that students still face difficulties in mastering this subject.
The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the grammatical (nahwu) and morphological (sharf) errors found in the final assignments of the "Kitabah" course among students of the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program at Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Tulungagung; (2) to identify the factors causing these errors; (3) to propose solutions to improve the quality of Arabic writing skills learning, thereby minimizing the errors made by students; (4) to use the research findings as a basis for developing an exercise book for the Kitabah course; and (5) to assess the feasibility of the exercise book.
This study employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative data were collected through documentation, in-depth interviews, and observations, while quantitative data were obtained via questionnaires and surveys. Data analysis was conducted separately according to the chosen methods, starting with describing the qualitative data and then tabulating the quantitative data. The results from both analyses were used as the foundation for creating the Arabic writing exercise book.
The findings indicate that most of the errors made by students relate to issues of i‘rāb (grammatical inflection) and its functions within sentences. The study also reveals that the main cause of these errors is intralingual factors, meaning the errors stem from students’ insufficient understanding of the target language—Arabic—especially regarding the application of nahwu and sharf rules. Additionally, the research utilizes the percentage analysis of students’ errors as a fundamental reference in designing the Arabic writing exercise book, ensuring that the book meets students’ needs. On the other hand, the preparation of this textbook is considered highly feasible and important to continue developing and improving.
INDONESIA:
KAFIRNYA FILSUF MUSLIM: Ibn Rusyd Meluruskan al-Ghazali
Ibn Rusyd is seen figure renewal and generating Aristotle philosophy that has long been buried or torpor. Among his famous works is about criticism of al-Ghazali thought about keqadiman nature, knowledge of God and theresurrection of man. Ibn Rusyd argued about the views of the philosophersof the latter. Al-Ghazali accusations against the philosophers is not truebut just different points of view are made as if the philosophers have deviated from monotheism even considered infidels. Keywords: Ibn Rusyd, al-Ghazali, critic
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist
We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
Mapping Intralingual Errors in Students’ Final Assignments of Maharah Al-Kitabah
This research is motivated by the continued dominance of intralingual errors in the academic writing of BSA students despite their intensive Arabic language learning, particularly in the morphological and syntactic aspects that influence the quality of scientific argumentation. This study aims to identify, classify, and analyse the types of intralingual errors in the final assignment of the Kitabah course and explain their implications for the mastery of Arabic language structure as a basis for developing pedagogical interventions and curriculum evaluation in higher education. Using an interpretive qualitative paradigm with an instrumental case study design, data were obtained through document analysis, questionnaires, and interviews validated through triangulation, member checking, peer debriefing, and audit trails. The analysis followed the classic stages of error analysis. From 41 files, 138 errors were found, which were entirely intralingual and distributed across seven linguistic aspects, with error patterns influenced by internal learner mechanisms such as overgeneralisation, simplification, imperfect rule application, and rule overlapping. These errors disrupt the clarity of meaning, consistency of structure, and the accuracy of scientific argumentation. The study concludes that the source of the errors is not L1 interference, but instability of rule internalisation that requires pedagogical intervention based on error analysis. The study's limitations include its coverage of a single study program, document-based data, potential recall bias, and the lack of quantitative measurements. Nevertheless, this research is novel because it comprehensively maps intralingual mechanisms and offers an integrative analytical framework that can support improving the quality of Arabic language learning in accordance with SDG 4 and strengthen error-based teaching approaches in higher education
