An experimental model for type V hyperlipoproteinemia: combined tween and cholesterol treatment in rabbits
No full textCombined treatment with oral cholesterol (1 g/day) and i.v. Tween 80 (three times per week) in rabbits, induces a marked parenchymal thesaurismosis with hyperchylomicronemia. Plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels do not differ from those of rabbits treated with cholesterol only. Rabbits with the combined treatment show no signs of atherosclerosis, but termination of Tween administration elicits a very severe atheromatosis.
Similarities of these experimental observations with the clinical findings of Fredrickson's type V disease, where hyperchylomicronemia is not accompanied by atherosclerosis, indicate that this is a useful experimental model for the rare clinical diseas

Berdasarkan permasalahan di SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung
diperoleh data yakni: pendidik sudah menguasai kompetensi pedagogik sesuai dengan
indikator-indikator kompetensi pedagogik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Namun masih
belum maksimal dan optimal, hal ini tentu saja berpengaruh dalam proses pembelajaran
IPS yang ada di kelas V, dimana peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar.
Pendidik merupakan creator utama karena pendidik merupakan contoh yang fakta atau
nyata bagi peserta didik. Untuk itu seorang pendidik harus memiliki kepribadian
menguasai bahan ajar dan menguasai cara-cara mengajar sebagai kompetensinya.
Kompetensi mengajar harus dimiliki oleh seorang pendidik yang merupakan kecakapan
dalam mengelola kegiatan pembelajaran. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengetahui Bagaimana kompetensi Pedagogik Pendidik dalam pembelajaran IPS Kelas
V SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif
deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian terletak di SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung.
Dimana subjek dari penelitian adalah pendidikk kelas V SD Muhamadiyah 1 Bandar
Lampung. Adapun proses dalam pengumpulan datanya merupakan metode observasi,
wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi
teknik. yaitu pengambilan datanya peneliti melakukan pengamatan secara langsung ke
tempat lokasi, sehingga dalam hal ini penulis berupaya mengadakan gambaran
penilaian secara menyeluruh tentang keadaan yang sebenarnya.
Dari hasil penelitian yang telah peneliti lakukan tentang kompetensi pedagogik
pendidik dalam pembelajaran IPS, melalui beberapa indikator yakni indikator mengenal
karakter peserta didik, menguasai teori dan prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran,
pengembangan kurikulum, kegiatan pembelajaran yang mendidik, dan komunikasi
dengan peserta didik dapat dikuasai dengan sangat baik oleh pendidik kelas V SD
Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung. Sedangkan pada indikator pengembangan potensi
peesrta didik dan Penilaian masih perlu ditingkatkan kembali agar sesuai dengan yang
diharapkan.

Basal and stimulated calcitonin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes did not change during 1 year of Liraglutide treatment
No full textBACKGROUND AND AIMS: The administration of Liraglutide, a long-acting GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist, is associated with C-cell adenomas and carcinomas in rats. In humans, GLP-1R is highly expressed in C-cells hyperplasia (CCH) and in medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), though no changes in basal serum calcitonin (bCT) levels were recorded in type 2 diabetic (T2DM) patients treated with Liraglutide. To diagnose the possible development of CCH during Liraglutide treatment, we evaluated CT levels stimulated by calcium test (sCT).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: bCT and sCT and metabolic and anthropometric parameters were evaluated in 26 T2DM patients at baseline and at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months of treatment.
RESULTS: In all patients, bCT remained within the normal range during the entire study period. In females and males, the higher sCT values were reached after 3 months and 1 month, respectively, with a progressive reduction at 6-12 months. The greater decrease of HbA1c values was reached at 3 months, while body weight and waist circumference decreased over the first 4 weeks of therapy. Lipase levels significantly increased, with a peak value at 1 month.
CONCLUSION: The chronic administration of Liraglutide did not lead to statistically significant variations in both bCT and sCT. Stimulated CT levels increased, though always below the normal range, during the first 1-3 months of treatment, and progressively decreased to baseline levels. This finding is consistent with the effects recorded at the glycometabolic level, and suggests the possible induction of a drug tolerance involving also the C cells and thus preventing CCH
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textTese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Inglês e Literatura Correspondente, Florianópolis, 2010Na área de Estudos da Tradução (ET), pesquisa em tradução audiovisual tem abordado a tradução para filmes de uma forma que reforça a parcialidade que tem sido dada a esta atividade. Estes estudos parecem negligenciar a natureza lingüística da tradução de filmes concentrando-se principalmente em aspectos relacionados a fatores culturais da atividade da legendagem (Espindola, 2005), o ambiente audiovisual da legendagem (Nobre, 2002), aspectos técnicos envolvidos na tradução de filmes e programas de TV bem como fatores de audiência (Luyken et al., 1991 e Dries, 1995). Por mais importante que estes estudos sejam, eles deixam alguns aspectos intocados uma vez que omitem a dimensão lingüística das legendas. Devido ao fato da linguagem como um sistema modelador auxiliar na construção de significados no ambiente do filme - junto com outros tipos de sistemas semióticos, atenção direcionada à linguagem das legendas parece ser uma lacuna a ser preenchida. A partir de uma perspectiva lingüística, ET está na agenda de pesquisa de lingüística sistêmico-funcional há um longo tempo, porém somente recentemente é que Estudos da Tradução Audiovisual foram adicionados aos Estudos da Tradução Lingüístico-Sistêmico. Neste contexto e como tentativa de superar a parcialidade mencionada anteriormente, a presente pesquisa de doutorado dá atenção direta à linguagem dos diálogos falados e das legendas da Saga Guerra nas Estrelas (dirigida por George Lucas) concentrando esforços de pesquisa no estudo do personagem selecionado: Mestre Yoda, através da investigação da estrutura temática em nível oracional em ambas as instâncias, com o intuito de observar o papel de Temas marcados e não-marcados na construção do discurso do personagem. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam a contribuição da estrutura temática para conceber a representação de Yoda nos diálogos falados como um personagem sábio e poderoso da comunidade galáctica de Guerra nas Estrelas. Uma contribuição similar foi encontrada nas legendas onde a estrutura temática provou desempenhar papel crucial na construção do comportamento lingüístico de Yoda, indicativo da natureza de relação de poder existente entre ele e os outros personagens da Saga. Em ambos os casos, o discurso marcado emergiu como uma característica constante com Complemento e Predicador ocorrendo mais freqüentemente em posição temática. Tipicamente, quando o Tema em inglês era realizado por um Predicador sozinho com o finito em posição remática para marcar o discurso, um Complemento era usado para causar o mesmo efeito em resposta as possibilidades permitidas pelo sistema lingüístico do português brasileiro. Finalmente, a necessidade de se dar atenção direta a complexidade lingüística das legendas tornou-se evidente, uma vez que este tipo de análise provou ser possível de iluminar aspectos outrora desconsiderados - a análise lingüístico-sistêmico funcional levou à descoberta do linguajar característico de Yoda que media uma visão de mundo distinta

Penelitian berjudul “Kajian Dramatik Dan Estetik Pertunjukan Wayang Kulit Gaya Banyumas Lakon Resi Pujangga Dewa Sajian Sugina Siswacarita” bertujuan mengungkap permasalahan tentang: (1) Bagaimana struktur dramatik pertunjukan wayang kulit gaya Banyumas lakon Resi Pujangga Dewa sajian Sugina Siswacarita (2) Bagaimana estetika dalam pertunjukan wayang kulit gaya Banyumas lakon Resi Pujangga Dewa sajian Sugina Siswacarita. Analisis struktur dramatik lakon Resi Pujangga Dewa sajian Sugina Siswacarita, dikupas menggunakan konsep yang dikemukakan oleh Sumanto. Analisis estetika dalam lakon ini, diungkap menggunakan konsep mendhalungan yang dikemukakan oleh Bagong Pujiono.
Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu dengan melakukan beberapa metode seperti, teknik pengumpulan data (studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara), dan teknik analisis data. Hasil penelitian berupa (1) Kesenimanan Sugina Siswacarita, yang meliputi: perjalanan kesenimanan Sugina Siswacarita, sejarah munculnya pakeliran Banyumasan gagrag ginoan, kreativitas Sugina Siswacarita yang berpengaruh pada pakeliran Banyumasan. (2) Analisis struktur dramatik lakon Resi Pujangga Dewa sajian Sugina Siswacarita, yang meliputi: alur, penokohan (penampilan fisik, penampilan non fisik, pikiran/perasaaan/kehendak, ujaran atau ucapan, tindakan atau perilaku, benda lain di luar tokoh, jenis penokohan), setting (aspek ruang, aspek waktu, aspek suasana), tikaian atau konflik, tema, dan amanat. No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Smart Insulin Pen in Pregnant Women with Type 1 Diabetes: An Encouraging Case Series
No full textBackground: The management of type 1 diabetes in pregnancy with new technologies is challenging. Sometimes the complexity of new-generation systems such as “continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion, CSII” and patient or provider preference do not allow their use, so women with type 1 diabetes in pregnancy continue to be treated with subcutaneous multiple-injection insulin therapy using pens. Smart insulin pens are new tools that allow for data collection on insulin dose and time of administration and have additional connectivity features. Objective: To retrospectively describe the use of a smart insulin pen coupled with rt-CGM (InPenTM system) in three pregnancies complicated by type 1 diabetes. Methods: Participants used the InPenTM system in pregnancy and consented to analysis of glycaemic data and pregnancy outcome. Results: An increase in pregnancy specific time-in-range glucose was observed in the three patients related to the duration of insulin action, insulin sensitivity factors, and a pre-set target glucose range for pregnancy. No diabetic ketoacidosis or severe hypoglycaemia occurred. Conclusions: We describe practical considerations in three pregnant patients with type 1 diabetes where the InPenTM system was used with suggestive improvements in the time-in-range
