New forms of content communication in picturebooks by Iwona Chmielewska in the light of Polish research
No full textAutorka artykułu posłużyła się metodą analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa oraz metodą autopsji, aby opisać różne środki artystyczne wykorzystywane przez Iwonę Chmielewską w jej autorskich picturebookach. Autorka dokonuje podziału tych środków na dwa zbiory, według sposobu ukazania przestrzeni. Pierwszy zbiór zawiera środki artystyczne zaobserwowane w przestrzeni ujmowanej płasko. Drugi zbiór zawiera środki artystyczne obecne, gdy przestrzeń jest ukazana w ujęciu trójwymiarowym. Tekst porządkuje wiedzę na temat wybranego fragmentu dorobku publikacyjnego tej artystki. Autorka odwołuje się do ustaleń rodzimych badaczy fenomenu picturebooków Iwony Chmielewskiej. Są wśród nich m.in.: Marta Baszewka, Anna Boguszewka, Alina Brzuska-Kępa, Małgorzata Howorus-Czajka, Marta Kotkowska, Magdalena Sikorska, Katarzyna Smyczyńska. Badaniom poddano tylko picturebooki opublikowane w latach 2004-2020.Using critical analysis of literature and authopsy method, the author describes the various artistic means used by Iwona Chmielewska in her original picturebooks. The author divides these means into two collections, according to the way in which space is depicted. The first set contains artistic means present when space is depicted flatly. The second set contains artistic means present when space is shown three-dimensionally. The paper organizes knowledge on the selected part of the publication output of Iwona Chmielewska. The author refers to the findings of native researchers of the phenomenon of Iwona Chmielewska’s picturebooks. These include: Marta Baszewka, Anna Boguszewka, Alina Brzuska-Kępa, Małgorzata Howorus-Czajka, Marta Kotkowska, Magdalena Sikorska, Katarzyna Smyczyńska. Only picturebook publications published between 2004 and 2020 were included in the study

The author of the based on literature article attempts to characterise various factors that influence
sexual activity named “sexual games” among youth. The aim of this paper concentrates on the
presentation of the process of constructing identity in a culture of individualism. Characteristic of
the postmodern era disintegration of categorical communities, uprooting from tradition and emancipation
from social groups and communities results in the emergence of a new man and a new
model of socialization. Dynamic socio-cultural changes taking place in Poland cause transformations
of intrafamilial and peer relationships that involve a significant weakening of the original
compounds in groups and result to identify youth with social networks and weak ties, even in such
intimate sphere, which is sex. Secondly, the article tries to present the role and the consequences of
this activity.

Get PDFThe present article is devoted to one of the sermons of St. Ivo of Chartres, namely the sermon in which the indicated author explains the meaning of the various vestments that the priest puts on for the celebration of sacred services. The reader will therefore find here a proposal for the first translation of this oration into Polish along with its original Latin text. The text of the translation is accompanied on the one hand by concise commentaries, and on the other by an introduction which briefly presents Ivo’s biography and bibliography, and goes into some detail about the content of the relevant sermon.Artykuł niniejszy poświęcony został jednemu z kazań Iwona z Chartres, mianowicie kazaniu, w którym wskazany autor objaśnia, co znaczą poszczególne szaty, jakie kapłan wkłada do sprawowania świętych czynności. Czytelnik znajdzie tu zatem propozycję pierwszego tłumaczenia rzeczonej oracji na język polski wraz z jej tekstem oryginalnym, łacińskim. No full textThe aim of the article is an attempt to characterize iconolinguistic book with special care about its publishing distinctive features. The author shows how much this particular phenomenon from borderland of literature and world of images depends on cultural changes context and also on editing and publishing progress. Baszewska points out the difference between picturebook and illustrated book referring to an idea of iconolinguistic unity. She also provides the reader with synthetic preview of polish and western research status. The next description is semantic and anthropological context of picturebook in addition to its publishing forms and its influence on functioning and perception of this phenomenon. Futhermore Baszewska writes about the dependence of picturebook from comic book – especially about similarities and differences in graphic outline, workmanship, relation between word and image, illustration style, that is – all the formal aspects. The author shows diversity of picturebook types which are still more known to the western research workers and readers than to polish. In conclusion Baszewska presents works of famous polish picturebook author – Iwona Chmielewska – as masterpieces of its genre, which include all the sine qua non conditions of iconolinguistic books.Celem artykułu jest próba scharakteryzowania książki ikonolingwistycznej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jej edytorskich cech dystynktywnych. Autorka ukazuje, jak bardzo specyficzne zjawisko z pogranicza literatury i świata obrazu jest zależne od kontekstu przemian kulturowych, a także rozwoju drukarstwa i edytorstwa. Baszewska wskazuje na różnice między książką obrazkową a ilustrowaną, odwołując się do pojęcia jedności ikonolingwistycznej. Omawia przy tym syntetycznie stan badań polskich i zachodnich. Następnie opisuje zjawisko książki obrazkowej w kontekście semantycznym i antropologicznym, odwołując się do istotnych kwestii edycji takiego tekstu kultury i ich wpływu na jego postrzeganie oraz funkcjonowanie. Kolejną kwestią rozpatrywaną przez Baszewską jest zależność książki ikonolingwistycznej od komiksu, zwłaszcza podobieństwa i różnice dotyczące wyglądu, wykonania, stosunku obrazu do słowa, stylów ilustrowania, czyli formy. Autorka ukazuje rozmaitość typów książki obrazkowej, które ciągle dużo bardziej rozpowszechnione i znane okazują się zarówno wśród czytelników, jak i badaczy zachodnich niż polskich

Get PDFThe aim of the article is to consider whether Agata Tuszyńska and Iwona Chmielewska’s publication is a literary redefinition of the act of testimony. The author analyzes the relationship between text and image, at the same time referring to the life-writing trend. Moreover, the author raises questions about the relationship between the borrowed past and collective memory. In the article, the author also draws attention to the creation of a child’s perspective, which is mainly generated through the mother tongue. The parent is the only person who creates the imaginary synthesis of the individual elements of Polish culture in miniature. Therefore, the author analyzes the stylization aspect of Tuszyńska’s story on the child’s perception, which often turns out to be simultaneously inscribing the extreme situation into the space of a fairy tale
