No full textA presente dissertação de mestrado busca compreender a relação entre democracia e espaço urbano por meio da análise da dinâmica do direito à cidade no município de Juiz de Fora, nos espaços institucionais e não institucionais de participação. Essa investigação se faz por intermédio do referencial empírico construído por meio de estudo de caso cujo objeto é o espaço urbano juizforano. Destaca-se nesse processo a atuação do MaisJF como um dos principais atores que reivindicam o exercício do direito à cidade em Juiz de Fora atualmente. As bases teóricas dessa pesquisa relacionam categorias teóricas fundamentais como a concepção gramsciana de Estado Ampliado, Cidadania Ativa, Espaço Social e Neoliberalismo para compreender a democracia contemporânea na emergência do modelo neoliberal de Estado e seus impactos no exercício do direito à cidade, ou seja, na vivência plena do espaço social e da cidadania.This dissertation seeks to understand the relationship between democracy and urban space from the analysis of the dynamics at right to the city of Juiz de Fora city in institutional and noninstitutional spaces to participation. This research is done from empirical framework built through case study which object is the Juiz de Fora´s urban space. It stands out in this process the action of MaisJF as a key player claiming the exercise of the right to the city of Juiz de Fora today. The theoretical basis of this research relates fundamental theoretical categories like the Gramsci’s concept of expanded state, active citizenship, social space and neoliberalism for understanding contemporary democracy in the emergence of the neoliberal model of state and their impact on the exercise of the right to the city, that is, the full living of the social space and citizenship.125 p

Get PDFThe concept of the right to the city has been claimed by different subjects over the last decades in different metropolises of the world. In the theoretical framework, Henri Lefebvre and David Harvey, contributed to construct the concept of right to the city that contemplates the democratization of the value in use of the cities as much as the utopian dimension in which only the revolutionary praxis can determine its extension. This article aims to verify to what extent the concept of the right to the city is a constituent part in the practice of urban collective subjects nowadays as well as what is the content of this right. This discussion will be provided through the qualitative assessment of documents produced by these collective subjects, especially the dossiers launched by the World Cup and Olympics Popular Committee of Rio de Janeiro organized in this city between 2010 and 2016.O ideário do direito à cidade tem sido reivindicado por diferentes sujeitos ao longo das últimas décadas em diferentes metrópoles do mundo. No âmbito teórico, Henri Lefebvre e David Harvey, contribuíram para construir o conceito de direito à cidade que contempla tanto a democratização do valor de uso das cidades como a dimensão utópica na qual só a práxis revolucionária poderá determinar sua extensão. No full textThrough the thought of Henri Lefebvre revisited through a bibliographic review in dialogue with some of his interlocutors, we present an approach that includes the recognition of the different ways of producing space as one of the aspects of the right to the city. Understanding the right to the city such as the right to difference is a counterpoint to capitalist sociability and its tendencies to homogenize space and modes of existence. We emphasize that this right is not thought of here as a transcendent right or, simply, a positive right, the right to the city being located in the socio-spatial practices of the subjects.Por intermédio do pensamento de Henri Lefebvre revisitado por meio de revisão bibliográfica em diálogo com alguns de seus interlocutores, apresentamos uma abordagem que compreende o reconhecimento dos diferentes modos de se produzir o espaço como um dos aspectos do direito à cidade. A compreensão do direito à cidade como o direito à diferença é um contraponto à sociabilidade capitalista e suas tendências de homogeneização do espaço e dos modos de existência. Ressaltamos que esse direito não é pensado aqui como um direito transcendente ou, simplesmente, um direito positivo, sendo o direito à cidade localizado nas práticas socioespaciais dos sujeitos.A través del pensamiento de Henri Lefebvre revisitado mediante una revisión bibliográfica en diálogo con algunos de sus interlocutores, presentamos un enfoque que incluye el reconocimiento de las diferentes formas de producir el espacio como uno de los aspectos del derecho a la ciudad. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
