Stream pool of Ratina - urban development plan
Get PDFTämä diplomityö käsittelee ajankohtaista ja maailmanlaajuista ilmiötä, kaupunkirakentamisen uudistamista, jonka myötä kaupunkien rannoista on syntynyt uusien virkistysalueiden paikkoja. Tarkastelen tätä ilmiötä esimerkkikohteiden avulla ja selvitän miten veden äärelle pääsemistä on edistetty kaupungeissa. Lopuksi esitän kaupunkitilojen kehittämissuunnitelman Tampereen ydinkeskustassa sijaitsevalle Ratinan suvannon ranta-alueelle. Tampereen kaupunki on tilannut diplomityön alueen jatkosuunnittelun tueksi.
Työn lähtöasetelma on ajankohtainen ja kiinnostava. Suunnittelualue sijoittuu Tammerkosken alajuoksulle, Ratinan suvannon ympäristöön. Se mielletään nykyisellään uinuvaksi alueeksi, joka on jäänyt historiallisesti arvokkaiden kosken puistonauhojen ja tehdasalueiden varjoon. Pyhäjärven rantaan, suunnittelualueen eteläpuolelle, on kehittymässä merkittävä uusi asuinalue. Sen lisäksi Ratinan stadionin yhteyteen on rakentumassa suuri kauppakeskus. Suunnittelualue jää tämän historiallisen keskustan ja arvokkaan koskenvarren sekä uuden Pyhäjärven rantaan muodostuvan alueen väliin. Alueen rooli on kokemassa muutoksen, joka kohdistaa suunnittelualueelle uusia käyttövaatimuksia. Haasteeksi nousee näiden uusien ja vanhojen kaupunkirakenteellisten kokonaisuuksien käsittely ja niiden yhteen nivominen suunnittelualueella.
Tilaajana Tampereen kaupunki toivoi tutkittavan erityisesti kahta asiaa. Ensinnäkin sitä, kuinka suunnittelualueella pääsisi jatkossa paremmin veden äärelle. Nykyiset korkeat rantamuurit aitoineen eivät muodosta rannan äärelle oleskelualueita. Toiseksi sitä, miten suvannon alueesta saataisiin kehitettyä kokonaisvaltainen, imagoltaan korkealaatuinen ja laadukas virkistysalue, joka liittyisi muuhun arvokkaaseen koskiympäristöön ja sen virkistysreitteihin.
Työ koostuu viidestä osiosta. Ensimmäisessä asetan työlleni lähtökohdat ja kerron tarkemmin sen ympäristössä tapahtuvista ajankohtaisista hankkeista. Toisessa tutkin aluksi kaupunkien kehityshistoriaa sekä veden ja rantojen roolia kaupungissa. Sen jälkeen pohdin kaupunkirakentamisen uudistamista maailmanlaajuisena ilmiönä. Esittelen esimerkkejä kaupunkirantojen uudistamisesta viidessä eurooppalaisessa kaupungissa. Lisäksi pohdin, miksi veden äärelle pääsystä on muodostunut maailmanlaajuinen pyrkimys, jota edistetään monenlaisin tavoin.
Kolmannessa luvussa analysoin alueen nykytilan ja erittelen sen mahdollisuuksia. Analyysien pohjalta esittelen alueelle kehittämisvision, jolla aktivoidaan suvannon ympäristö ranta-alueineen. Lopuksi esitän suunnittelualueelle yleissuunnitelman, jota tarkennan osa-aluesuunnitelmin Laukontorin, Ratinan rantapuiston ja Ratinan stadionin rannan osalta. Suunnitelmissa on pyritty ratkaisemaan analyysien osoittamia epäkohtia ja puutteita, sekä luomaan suunnittelualueelle visiota tukevia omaleimaisia kaupunkitiloja.This thesis studies a topical and global phenomenon, renewal of city planning, whereby waterfronts of cities have become places of new recreational areas. The phenomenon is studied by analyzing similar projects. An urban development plan for the surroundings of Ratina stream pool is presented in the end. This thesis was ordered by the city of Tampere to support the further development of their urban plans.
The thesis development plan area is situated near Tammerkoski’s downstream, around the area of the Ratina stream pool. The area has been neglected due to the surrounding historically more valuable stream parks and industrial areas. The current topic makes the thesis position very fascinating. A significant new urban housing is being developed on the shore of lake Pyhäjärvi on the south side of the development plan area. In addition a large commercial center is built detached to Ratina stadium. The development plan area is surrounded by historical center, valuable riverside and new urban area by lake Pyhäjärvi. The entire area is going through a transformation, which poses new demands on the planning area. The challenge is the treatment and combining these new and old city structural entities on the planning area.
As the client the city of Tampere desired that especially two things should be examined. Firstly, how to enhance the proximity of water. With the existing high riverside wall with fences there is no recreational spaces near the shore. Secondly, how the stream pool could be developed into an entire high quality recreational environment, which connects to the other valuable riverside environment with its pathways.
The thesis is made up of five sections. The first section is about the positioning the thesis and describing in more detail about the surrounding development actions. The second section is about the history of urban city planning and the role of rivers and shore sides in the cities. The section includes urban development renewal as a global phenomenon. This will be introduced through elaborating city shore side renewal projects in five different European cities. In addition the global motivation to increase the proximity of water in urban areas is examined more.
The third section analyses the current condition of the area and introduces possibilities. These analyses form the basis of a development vision. The thesis also includes a general urban plan to the designated development area. The urban general plan is elaborated with partial plans for Laukontori, Ratina waterfront park and Ratina stadium shore. The plan aims to solve the problems arisen from the analysis and simultaneously creating an unique urban recreational environment
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

ABSTRAK
CV. Ratina merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang memanfaatkan limbah kelapa
sawit sebagai bahan baku dalam proses produksinya, limbah kelapa sawit yang
dimaksud adalah buah brondolan. Saat ini perusahaan tidak memiliki strategi
khusus dalam memenuhi ketersediaan bahan baku, sehingga perusahaan hanya
menerima bahan baku dari petani sekitar lokasi perusahaan. Berdasarkan
permasalahan tersebut perlu dilakukan sebuah strategi pengembangan usaha
sehingga perusahaan dapat memenuhi targaet produksi. Hal pertama yang harus
dilakukan adalah menganalisa faktor internal dan eksternal pada perusahaan dengan
menggunakan metode SWOT (Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).
Kemudian penentuan strategi yang tepat menggunakan metode QSPM
(Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix). Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa
nilai rata-rata dari faktor internal berupa kelabihan dan kekurangan adalah 3,73
berrarti bahwa perrursahaan dapat mernangani faktor interrnal derngan baik dan
mernggurnakan kerlerbihannya urnturk merngatasi kerlermahan pada pabrik itur serndiri.
Hasil perhitungan matriks eksternal berupa peluang dan ancaman adalah 3,88
berrarti perrursahaan mampur merrerspon derngan baik faktor erksterrnal urnturk
mermanfaatkan perlurang urnturk merngatasi faktor ancaman yang bisa merngganggur
jalannya prosers produrksi.

Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
