Does the policy regarding the role of the national examination in determining graduation affect student achievement?
From 2004 to 2018, the national examination (NE) has undergone three policy changes regarding its role in determining graduation. The NE score was decided to be the sole determining factor for student graduation in the period 2004 to 2010, with the school examination score being the determinant of student graduation from 2011 to 2015 and no longer a determinant of student graduation from 2016 to 2018 period. This study aimed to analyze the pattern of influence of the NE policy as a determinant of graduation on student achievement at junior, senior, and vocational high schools. This study used data on student achievement for 15 years in the subjects tested on the NE obtained from the Research and Development Center of the Indonesian Ministry of National Education. Data analysis was done descriptively by estimating students' mean achievement on the NE and then analyzing the mean trend. By analyzing the trend of student scores' mean on the subjects tested on the NE at the junior high school, senior high school, and vocational high school levels, the mean tends to increase in the period 2004 to 2010, tends to be less stable and decrease in the period 2011 to 2015, and tends to decline again when the NE score is no longer used as a determinant of graduation in the period 2016 to 2018. These results indicate that the policy on using NE scores in determining graduation influences student achievement in junior high school, senior high school, and vocational high school levels

The Indonesian nation is indeed in a situation that is not good in relation to the declining character of the nation's generation. The existence of formal education institutions which are expected to shape the personality of students as good members of society turns out that they have not been fully able to form a generation that has character and noble character. The emergence of modern boarding schools that combine formal education and boarding school education is expected to bring fresh air in an effort to minimize the adverse effects caused by the swift currents of globalization. This research is a qualitative field research conducted by choosing phenomenology as its approach. Data obtained through observation, documentation and interviews. The analysis was carried out using data reduction techniques, data display, triangulation and conclusion drawing or verification. From this study, information was obtained that the Miftahunnajah Modern Islamic Boarding School had a good concept in santri moral formation. This concept includes at least six important aspects, namely noble moral material whose main source comes from the Qur'an and Hadith, moral education goals, moral formation programs, moral reference material, teacher and student qualifications. Two important points in the process of noble moral education are carried out integrally, namely teaching and habituation. WHICH IS MORE RELATED TO LITERACY SKILLS, COMPETITION OR COOPERATION? EVIDENCE FROM PISA 2018 RESULTS
Although previous research has demonstrated that school climate (leading to a climate of competition or cooperation) is related to student achievement, including their literacy skills, there is still insufficient evidence which of the two school climates is more related to literacy skills. Therefore, this study examined the relationship between the two sets of variables in the PISA 2018 Results data: students’ perceptions of school climate (PERSCHL) and literacy skills (LITERACY). The PERSCHL set consists of perceptions of the level of competition (PERSCOMP) and cooperation (PERSCOOP) in schools, while LITERACY set consists of mathematical literacy (MATH), reading (READ), and science (SCIE). The research was conducted to answer the questions: (1) is there a relationship between a student’s perception of competition and cooperation with students’ literacy skills? and (2) which one of the two PERSCHL variable sets has the most influence on students’ literacy skills? The level of perception in the PERSCHL set was estimated using the Graded Response Model (GRM), while literacy skills was calculated from the average of 10 Plausible Value (PV) that has been available in the data of PISA 2018 Results. The research hypothesis was tested using canonical correlation analysis. The results of the data analysis showed that the positive students’ perceptions of competitive and cooperative school climate had a positive and significant association with literacy skills although with a small correlation index. Second, perceptions of competition have a higher relationship with literacy skills than perceptions of cooperation in schools but the difference between the two is small. Both competition and cooperation in schools still need to be developed to facilitate the improvement of student literacy skills individually and collectively
Pengembangan Bank Soal Berbasis Komputer dalam Upaya Pemetaan Kualitas Pendidikan Matematika Tingkat SMP/MTs di Daerah
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan: (1) menghasilkan bank soal berbasis komputer (BSBK) yang dapat digunakan untuk pemetaan kualitas pendidikan matematika tingkat SMP/MTs di daerah; dan (2)
menerapkan model pengelolaan BSBK untuk melakukan pemetaan kualitas pendidikan matematika tingkat SMP/MTs di daerah.
Prosedur pengembangan meliputi lima tahapan, yakni: (1) tahap definisi; (2) tahap perancangan; (3) tahap peragaan; (4) tahap pengembangan; dan (5) tahap penyajian. Subjek yang terlibat dalam ujicoba produk adalah guru dan siswa
SMP/MTs. Subjek yang terlibat dalam uji coba perorangan dan ujicoba kelompok kecil dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling terdiri empat orang guru, masing-masing satu orang guru kelas VII, satu orang guru kelas VIII, satu orang guru kelas IX, dan satu orang guru yang mewakili sekolah. Subjek yang terlibat dalam ujicoba kelompok besar dipilih melalui tiga tahapan, yakni: (1) memilih empat SMP/MTs dengan teknik stratified random sampling, masing-masing satu SMP/MTS kategori baik, dua SMP/MTs kategori sedang, dan satu SMP/MTs kategori kurang baik dalam hal prestasi belajar matematika; (2) memilih tiga orang guru mata pelajaran matematika dan satu orang yang mewakili sekolah pada setiap SMP/MTS dengan teknik purposive sampling; (3) semua siswa yang diajar oleh guru kelas VII dan kelas
VIII ditetapkan sebagai peserta dalam ujian lintas sekolah.
Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) pengembangan BSBK dilakukan melalui kegiatan pelatihan yang melibatkan kelompok guru matematika tingkat SMP/MTs, ahli dalam mata pelajaran matematika, ahli kurikulum, ahli penilaian
pendidikan, guru bahasa Indonesia, serta sosiolog atau budayawan lokal; (2) soal-soal yang tersimpan dalam database BSBK sebanyak 162 butir, memiliki measure antara
-3,00 dan 3,00 logit. Paket-paket tes sumber soal-soal tersebut memiliki indeks item separation reliability (ISR) antara 0,96 dan 0,98, serta nilai informasi tes antara 6,32
dan 7,53 logit (berbeda sekitar 1,01 hingga 2,10 logit dari nilai informasi tes maksimum yang mungkin); (3) software BSBK memiliki tiga menu utama, masing-masing untuk administrator BSBK, pengguna kelompok guru, dan pengguna
kelompok sekolah; (4) kelompok ahli dan praktisi memberikan penilaian yang baik serta konsisten terhadap koleksi soal BSBK ( 2 * ˆ p ρ =0,88), serta secara teknis software
BSBK dinilai layak menjadi media pengadministrasian soal (0,72 ≤ 2* ˆ p ρ ≤ 0,83). Guru dan yang mewakili sekolah dalam kegiatan ujicoba produk memberikan penilaian yang cukup baik serta semakin konsisten (0,56 ≤ 2 * ˆ p ρ ≤ 0,88), seiring dengan perbaikan yang dilakukan terhadap produk BSBK; (5) measure butir soal produk BSBK relatif stabil setelah digunakan dalam ujian lintas sekolah. Estimasi kemampuan peserta yang diharapkan relatif sama dengan estimasi kemampuan peserta ujian lintas sekolah. Nilai informasi tes yang diharapkan relatif sama dengan
nilai informasi tes setelah digunakan dalam ujian lintas sekolah. Hal ini berarti koleksi soal hasil pengembangan BSBK menjamin sifat invarians serta memberikan informasi pengukuran yang relatif stabil; dan (6) tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa kelas VII SMPN 4 Bau-Bau lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan ketiga SMP lainnya. Tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Bau-Bau lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan ketiga SMP lainnya. Secara keseluruhan, tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa kelas VII lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa kelas VIII

Health is one of the main factors in the realization of a prosperous society. Therefore, improving the quality of public health is crucial. One of the efforts made is to create a clean environment and free from rubbish. From the survey, it is found that various diseases attack residents and the condition of garbage disposal sites are of concern. The lack of public awareness of the community, especially those related to waste, is one of the focuses of the program of KKM UIN Mengabdi 2019 in Gadingkembar Village. The purpose of this activity is to increase people's knowledge and understanding to have high awareness and self-potential to maintain health through waste management. The results of this activity indicate an increase in knowledge and understanding of Posyandu’s participants and elementary school children on the management of waste around their respective neighborhoods

In the leadership of Islamic education, especially in the context of the school, a school principal is responsible for the progress and development of the school. The principal has a central role in the dynamics of the organization to determine the success of an educational institution. Al Azhar 31 Islamic Elementary School Yogyakarta is one of the basic Islamic education institutions in Yogyakarta. This institution has had a good reputation both at regional and national levels. This article seeks to uncover the role of school principals who have been able to bring this institution into a community favorite educational institution. From the field study, information was obtained that there were at least three important steps taken by the principal to bring the school to excellent and best performance, namely, 1) orbit the teacher or employee who "sinks" by continuing to motivate and give a trust to carry out certain tasks, 2) mapping the character of all the teachers and employees he leads, 3) Form a solid structural work partner and implement an open communication pattern
Implementation of sort card method to improve motivation and learning outcomes of MAN Batu students
This classroom action research uses the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model to determine the effect of the sort card method in learning History of Islamic Culture. The subjects of this study were 34 students of grade XI IPS 2 MAN Batu, East Java. The instruments in this study include observation, documentation, interviews and tests. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the sort card method was able to increase student learning motivation. It is evident from the increasing active participation in the learning process. This method is also able to improve student learning outcomes. It is evident from the increasing of learning outcomes in cycle 1 and 2. At the time of the pre-cycle, the highest score obtained by students was 80 with a passing percentage of 23%. This score increased in first cycle with the highest score of 90 with a percentage of completeness of 71%. In the second cycle student learning outcomes have increased again. The highest score was recorded at 98 with the percentage of completeness increased to 88

Climate justice in the perspective of maqasid al-shariah: Its implications for environmentally-oriented Islamic education teaching materials
The global climate crisis has evolved from a mere environmental issue into a profound crisis of justice, with its impacts felt disproportionately by developing countries and vulnerable groups. Indonesia, with its high geographical and socio-economic vulnerability, has become one of the main arenas for the manifestation of this climate injustice. This article, compiled through qualitative literature study methods, argues that Islamic Education has a strategic role in shaping climate justice awareness and ethics. Still, its potential has not been optimally exploited. The analysis shows a significant gap between the visionary curriculum objectives and the teaching materials, which tend to be partial and do not respond to the urgency of the crisis. This article proposes an ethical framework rooted in Maqasid al-Shariah to bridge this gap. By reconceptualising Maqasid and placing environmental preservation (Hifz al-Bi'ah) as the foundation for the other five essential pillars (al-dharuriyyat al-khamsah), this framework can transform the discourse from mere nature conservation to the struggle for justice. The implications of this framework demand a double transformation in Islamic Education: content enrichment that integrates contextual case studies of climate justice in Indonesia, a deepening of ecological interpretation, and a methodological revolution through the adoption of action-oriented Project-Based Learning (PjBL). Tingkat Kesulitan Soal Buatan Guru Bidang Studi Matematika Menurut Teori Tes Klasik pada Tingkat SMP di Kota Baubau
Objective of this research was to analysis and to describe the level of difficulty of the test made by the teacher in the field of Mathematics subject according to the Classical Test Theory at the Junior High School level in Baubau City. Type of this research was quantitative research with descriptive method. The research was carried out at 7 (seven) State Junior High Schools in Baubau City, with the research subjects being the entire multiple choice test package made by the teacher for the Final Semester Examination (UAS) even in the field of Mathematics for class VIII students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The data in this research were collected using documentation technigues. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it could be concluded that the level of difficulty of the UAS test questions for the 2020/2021 academic year made by teacher in the filed of Mathematics subject according to the classical test theory at 7 (seven) public Junior High Schools in Baubau City, namely SMP Negeri 2 Baubau there were 37,5% categories very difficult, 5% in the difficult category, and 57,5% in the medium category, with an average of 0,287. SMP Negeri 4 Baubau had 15% difficult category, 80% medium category, and 5% easy category, with an average of 0,458. SMP Negeri 6 Baubau had 65% difficult category and 35% medium category with an average of 0,283. SMP Negeri 8 Baubau there were 48% difficult category and 52% medium category, with an average of 0,269. SMP Negeri 10 Baubau had 50% difficult category and 50% medium category, with an average of 0,341. SMP Negeri 16 Baubau had 6,7% very difficult category, 60% difficult category, and 33,3% moderate category, with an average of 0,283. SMP Negeri 18 Baubau contained 14,3% in the difficult category, 14,3% in the medium category, and 71,4% in the easy category, with an average of 0,703.Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan tingkat kesulitan soal buatan guru bidang studi matematika menurut teori tes klasik pada tingkat SMP di Kota Baubau. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 7 (tujuh) SMP Negeri di Kota Baubau, dengan subjek penelitian adalah seluruh paket tes pilihan ganda yang dibuat oleh guru untuk kegiatan Ulangan Akhir Semester (UAS) genap bidang studi matematika siswa kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik dokumentasi.
