Raquel Toro Interview
Mary Rubin interviews Raquel Toro, a Career Counselor in the Office of Career Services, via Zoom about the impact of COVID-19 on her life. Raquel began her job as a Career Counselor right when COVID-19 was becoming prevalent. She previously worked in the department as an intern, but now as a full-time employee, she has worked remotely for most of her job. Raquel is grateful that the remote work has given her the opportunity to work at home alongside her mother. A family-oriented person, Raquel reflects on the impact that COVID-19 has had on seeing the rest of her family, including canceling trips to celebrate anniversaries and her own proposal that had to be changed to a COVID friendly proposal (#pandemicproposal). Hopeful about 2021, Raquel also talks about her experience acquiring COVID-19 at the beginning of the year and its impact on her life. Raquel also speaks about the Employee Assistance Program and its benefits around mental health. She concludes with a hopeful and lifting message to try one\u27s best through these times and noting the positives of the year

Neste texto caracteriza-se uma entrevista mútua entre duas professoras, Raquel e Isolda, a respeito do conceito de diálogo em educação matemática. A entrevista se justificou pelo fato de que as professoras desenvolveriam uma prática coletiva em uma disciplina de estágio supervisionado em matemática, mediada pelo diálogo, para gerar aprendizagem. Com base nos conceitos de diálogo de Bohm, e de Alrø e Skovsmose; e de entrevista de Kvale e Brinkmann, bem como na experiência vivenciada por Raquel e Isolda, apresenta-se uma caracterização para a entrevista mútua que inclui alguns atos dialógicos e as ações de ver em conjunto, pensar em conjunto e construir conhecimento comum em conjunto.</jats:p
Bilingual acquisition data: Dative Alternation_DA-L2 Adult dataset
This dataset is the result of the research carried out by Silvia Sánchez Calderón (UNED) and Raquel Fernández Fuertes (UVa) in the frame of the Research Group UVALAL (University of Valladolid Language Acquisition Lab, https://uvalal.uva.es/) whose Principal Investigator is Raquel Fernández Fuertes. In this project, the research is conducted on the second language (L2) acquisition of English Dative Alternation (DA) constructions by adult learners whose first language (L1) is Spanish. The results are compared to a control group of L1 English adults. An Acceptability Judgment Task (AJT) was designed for both groups to address grammaticality, sentence structure and word order of the two English DA structures.
The two DA structures under analysis involve, on the one hand, prepositional to-datives that alternate as Double Object Constructions (DOCs) (1) and, on the other hand, prepositional for-datives that alternate as DOCs (2). The main aim of this project is to explore the role played by the L2 English learners' L1 in their sensitivity towards the two syntactic variants, with a particular emphasis on the potential crosslinguistic influence effects (or lack thereof) from Spanish into English and the Universal Grammar (UG) effect on their acquisition.UVALAL1. The interview was justified by the fact that the teachers would develop a collective practice in a supervised teaching practice course in mathematics mediated by dialogue in order to promote learning. Considering the concepts of dialogue by Bohm, and by Alrø and Skovsmose, the concept of interview by Kvale and Brinkmann, as well as what has been experienced by Raquel and Isolda, we present a characterization for mutual interview which includes dialogic acts and the actions of seeing together, thinking together and constructing common knowledge together.Key-words: Dialogue.
