Near-capacity iterative decoding of binary self-concatenated codes using soft decision demapping and 3-D EXIT charts
Get PDFIn this paper 3-D Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts are used to design binary Self-Concatenated Convolutional Codes employing Iterative Decoding (SECCC-ID), exchanging extrinsic information with the soft-decision demapper to approach the channel capacity. Recursive Systematic Convolutional (RSC) codes are selected as constituent codes, an interleaver is used for randomising the extrinsic information exchange of the constituent codes, while a puncturer helps to increase the achievable bandwidth efficiency. The convergence behaviour of the decoder is analysed with the aid of bit-based 3-D EXIT charts, for accurately calculating the operating EbN0 threshold, especially when SP based soft demapper is employed. Finally, we propose an attractive system configuration, which is capable of operating within about 1 dB from the channel capacity

Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian desain. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X D yang terdiri dari 26 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumen dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil tes, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa siswa lebih senang dengan pembelajaran dimensi tiga dengan menggunakan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia di SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Raja.

This research aims at recognizing the outcome of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (IRME) based learning on the topic of three dimensional object at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Raja. The research method used was developmental research. The sample of the study was class X D that contained 26 students. Data was collected through documents and test. Based on the result of the test, it was obatined that students were feeling eager to engage the IRME based learning on the topic of three dimensional object.

MeSH term explosion and author rank improve expert recommendations
Get PDFInformation overload is an often-cited phenomenon that reduces the productivity, efficiency and efficacy of scientists. One challenge for scientists is to find appropriate collaborators in their research. The literature describes various solutions to the problem of expertise location, but most current approaches do not appear to be very suitable for expert recommendations in biomedical research. In this study, we present the development and initial evaluation of a vector space model-based algorithm to calculate researcher similarity using four inputs: 1) MeSH terms of publications; 2) MeSH terms and author rank; 3) exploded MeSH terms; and 4) exploded MeSH terms and author rank. We developed and evaluated the algorithm using a data set of 17,525 authors and their 22,542 papers. On average, our algorithms correctly predicted 2.5 of the top 5/10 coauthors of individual scientists. Exploded MeSH and author rank outperformed all other algorithms in accuracy, followed closely by MeSH and author rank. Our results show that the accuracy of MeSH term-based matching can be enhanced with other metadata such as author rank

bangsa Nusantara adalah bangsa yang sangat tua. Cerita lisan tersebut bertolak
belakang dengan catatan sejarah Indonesia. Raja Nusantara baru dikenal ada sejak
abad ke lima. Peneliti dari UGM menemukan bahwa nenek moyang bangsa
Nusantara memilih Kendenglembu Banyuwangi untuk tinggal pertama kali dan
telah lama ada. Kesenjangan informasi tersebut berdampak negatif bagi
pengembangan teori kebudayaan dan identitas bangsa Indonesia. Salah satu cara
mengatasi masalah kesenjangan kebudayaan tersebut adalah dengan menelusur jati
diri bangsa melalui penelitian dengan memanfaatkan tradisi lisan. Penelitian ini
dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan rancangan kualitatif-multidisipliner. Sasaran
penelitian ini adalah cerita lisan yang terdapat dalam Gua dan situs megalitikum di
kawasan Trenggalek. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan metode
dokumenter, observasi, dan wawancara bebas mendalam. Data penelitian berupa
cerita rakyat, nama tempat, nama kota, nama bangunan megalitikum, tuturan
masyarakat tentang hal yang terkait dengan budaya lisan purba, dan situs Gua.
Sumber data penelitian (a) masyarakat penutur cerita lisan, (b) juru kunci gua, (c)
bangunan megalitikum di Gunung Jompong, dan (d) gua dan bukit purba di
kawasan Trenggalek. Hasil penelitian menginformasikan bahwa terdapat berbagai
cerita lisan yang terkait dengan situs gua Lawa. Batu purba Trenggalek memuat
nama raja dalam penyamaran. Kronogram di Gua Lawa menyatakan bahwa Gua
Lawa dibangun sebagai situs peribadatan Raja Elang atau Raja Garuda tahun 9991
Pra Saka atau 9913 SM. Bangunan purba kawasan Trenggalek memuat nama (a)
Raja Elangsura alias Raja Sulahimana yang menyamar, (b) Raja Elang Kawi, (c)
Raja Nagamaya, dan (d) Raja Dhawang Agung. Pemerintahan zaman purba di
sekitar Trenggalek cenderung bergaya pemerintahan spiritual. Perlu dilakukan
penggalian, pelestarian, dan pengemasan situs megalitikum di kawasan
Trenggalek menjadi sumber belajar dan wisata budaya secara terpadu
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
