Employer's attitudes toward promotional activities done by socso / Rafiah Ahmad
The promotional activities are important to change the employer’s attitudes in order to care about the employee social security. It is not easy to please every employer,
because different employer will have different behavior and opinion. In order to know the employer’s attitudes toward promotional activities done by SOCSO will give the answer
that will fit based on objective of this study. How does that promotional activities help employer to realize their responsibilities toward their employees and how the employer can change their attitudes. The objectives of this study are to know the employer’s attitudes toward promotional activities done by SOCSO and to know the relationship between independent variables which included trade show, print media and presentation
with the employer’s attitudes toward promotional activities as the dependent variables. This research is mainly focused to the registered employers whether directly or indirectly
who are from different type of employers. The respondents are also mostly comes from various demographic background such as gender, age and level of income. There are three (3) independents variables that need to investigate such as trade show, print media and presentation. The variables are being extracted from secondary data such as various journal and publications. Questionnaires are being distributed to 50 respondents
with 5 scale point. The data obtained from the questionnaire are being analyzed by using
SPSS 18.0. In order to test the hypothesis, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Regression Analysis is being using and the result show that among three (3) of the
variables do have the significant relationship with the employer’s attitudes toward promotional activities done by SOCSO. Finally, recommendations are given to the
management of SOCSO for their further improvement. Overall, there is show that the presentation was more effected to change the employer’s attitudes towards promotional activities in order to care their employee

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Crystallization of lisoleucine with the influence of electric field / Umi Rafiah Shukri
Problems encountered in crystallization when the end-product does not meet particular requirement for industry specifically in pharmaceutical and fine chemical production.Good quality crystals are defined as crystals with uniform size, shape and correct polymorphic form. Various methods have been established in attempt to achieve the good quality crystal by enhancing the metastable zone width region with external influence. Electric field was chosen in this study to solve the issues. In this study,Lisoleucine was the main material used meanwhile glycine is the other material due to the interesting characteristic of amino acids to exist as zwitterions in solution.Mechanism of this work is known as effect of electric field in crystallization.Investigations of this study focus on speciation behaviour of L-isoleucine in solution and crystallization of the amino acid in distilled water, acidic and basic solutions with the presence of electric field for selected temperatures; 10, 25, 40, 55 and 70°C. From speciation analysis, it is observed that the pKa values increases with the increases of applied electric field demonstrating obstacles added to the system to dissociate H+ from both -COOH and -NH3+. Crystallization of L-isoleucine in distilled water in the presence of electric field depicted the presence of new phase of the crystal structure proven by XRPD with consistent new peak at 20 of 31.0°. This result was supported by thermal properties of DSC data showing the presence of new melting temperature at 380°C. Findings from FTIR proved no proton transfer occurrence when crystallization is induced by electric field. Crystallization of glycine in distilled water with the influence of electric field demonstrates no change of polymorphic form proven by XRPD, DSC and FTIR data. Influence of pH condition in the presence of electric field demonstrated changes in L-isoleucine morphologies as well as the crystals properties
Delving into preschool teachers’ approaches and knowledge on social skills and its relationship to school readiness / Rafiah Kassim
Objectives of this qualitative study is to discover if the preschool teachers’ teaching approaches on social skills and to determine teachers’ knowledge and understanding on the relationship between social skills and school readiness towards preschoolers’ readiness for future. The data retrieved were from two Malaysian preschools with ten teachers as respondents and interview were recorded. The study’s conceptual 2 framework discusses on the two facets of social skills, with theories and approaches to nurture school readiness. The finding through interviews and questionnaire found that teachers from School A and B understood and has knowledge of social skills. However, during numerous visits to both school researcher’s findings indicated there is a difference in teaching approaches. These contributions allow preschoolers to enjoy the benefit of learning with knowledgeable teachers’ curriculum and teaching methods that has been up scaled to meet the needs of today’s children
