Search for R-parity violating supersymmetry in the dielectron channel
We report on a search for R-parity-violating supersymmetry in pp? collisions at ?s = 1.8TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab. Events with at least two electrons and four or more jets were studied. We observe two events in 99±4.4pb-1 of data, consistent with the expected background of 1.8±0.4 events. This result is interpreted within the framework of minimal low-energy supergravity supersymmetry models. Squarks with mass below 243GeV/c2 and gluinos with mass below 227GeV/c2 are excluded at the 95% C.L. for A0 = 0, ?<0, tan? = 2, and a finite value for any one of the six R-parity-violating couplings ?1jk? ( j = 1, 2 and k = 1, 2, 3)
Closing the achievement gap: from teacher education to student learning
2013 Spring.Includes bibliographical references.The academic achievement gap in the United States keeps growing every day. Beginning in eighth grade, students around the world are compared to each other using one international assessment to measure student performance. The results of the assessment are disheartening for Americans because American students rank among the lowest in the world when it comes to reading, math, and science. Because of the international assessment results, an academic sense of urgency has swept the nation. Legislation is currently writing and implementing new laws and bills to address the education epidemic spreading throughout the United States. All efforts are currently focusing on existing teachers and students in the classroom, as they should because that is where the current state of reality lies. However, everyone seems to overlook one very important contributor in educating students in grades kindergarten through twelfth. That contributor consists of the various teacher education programs within universities. These programs are responsible for preparing future teachers to educate 21st century learners. This research examines the current reality facing public education, discusses the possible reasons for the widening achievement gap in the United States, and offers possible solutions to cleansing and mending the systemic dysfunction found in education today. Measurement of spin correlation between and antitop quarks produced in p¯p collisions at √s=1.96 TeV
We present a measurement of the correlation between the spins of t and t quarks produced in proton–
antiproton collisions at the Tevatron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. We apply a matrix
element technique to dilepton and single-lepton+jets final states in data accumulated with the D0 detector
that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb⁻¹. The measured value of the correlation
coefficient in the off-diagonal basis, 0ₒff = 0.89 ± 0.22 (stat + syst), is in agreement with the standard
model prediction, and represents evidence for a top–antitop quark spin correlation difference from zero
at a level of 4.2 standard deviations
Search for R-parity violation in multilepton final states in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.8 TeV
The result of a search for gaugino pair production with a trilepton signature is reinterpreted in the framework of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) with R-parity violation via leptonic lambda Yukawa couplings. The search used 95 pb^{-1} of p-barp collisions at sqrt{s}=1.8 TeV recorded by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. A large domain of the mSUGRA parameter space is excluded for lambda_{121}, lambda_{122} > 10^{-4}
Simultaneous measurement of the ratio R = B(t -> Wb)/B(t -> Wq) and the top-quark pair production cross section with the D0 detector at root s=1.96 TeV
We present the first simultaneous measurement of the ratio of branching fractions, R = B(t --> Wb)/B(t --> Wq), with q being a d, s, or b quark, and the top-quark pair production cross section sigma(t (t) over bar) in the lepton plus jets channel using 0.9 fb(-1) of p (p) over bar collision data at root s = 1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector. We extract R and sigma(t (t) over bar) by analyzing samples of events with 0, 1, and >= 2 identified b jets. We measure R = 0.97(-0.08)(+0.09) (stat + syst) and sigma(t (t) over bar) = 8.18(-0.84)(+0.90) (stat + syst) +/- 0.50(lumi) pb, in agreement with the standard model prediction.AuthorOverflow(541

Paper 1: Using dimuons collected with the D0 detector during the 1993--1995 Tevatron collider run, the authors have measured the b-quark cross section and b[anti b] correlations as given by the difference in azimuthal angle between the two muons. Both measurements agree with the NLO QCD predictions within experimental and theoretical errors. (Three other papers are included in this report.

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the prospects for B physics at the Tevatron. The work was carried out during a series of workshops starting in September 1999.
