Spataro Future Generation Computer Systems 21 (2005) 549–558 doi:10.1016/j.future.2004.10.006 Abstract Grids are potentially composed of several thousands of users from different institutions sharing their computing resources (or using resources provided by third parties). Controlling access to these resources is a difficult problem, as it depends on the policies of the organizations the users belong to and of the resource owners. Moreover, a simple authorization implementation, based on a direct user registration on the resources, is not applicable to a large scale environment. In this paper, we describe the solution to this problem developed in the framework of the European DataGrid [M. Draoli, G. Mascari, R. Piccinelli, Project Presentation, DataGrid-11-NOT-0103- 1] and DataTAG [http://www.datatag.org/] projects: the Virtual Organization Membership Service (VOMS) [R. Alfieri, et al., Managing Dynamic User Communities in a Grid of Autonomous Resources, TUBT005, in: Proceedings of the CHEP 2003, 2003]. La Biblioteca Laurenziana per Vittorio Alfieri," a cura di C. Domenici, P. Luciani e R. Turchi, Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, Firenze, Tipografia Latini,
2003, pp. 244-246) di Vittorio Alfieri recante una nota
e di tre epigrammi antifrancesi; proviene dal corpus di carte
e libri alfieriani che Franc ̧ois-Xavier Fabre eredito` alla morte
della contessa d’Albany nel 1824 e che trasferı` poi a Montpellier.
A partire dal contenuto della nota, l'autore ricostruisce vari episodi della vita del tragico piemontese, pubblicando anche altri documenti inediti tra cui due lettere di Luisa Stolberg conservate presso la Biblioteca comunale di Forlì
Il “Saul” di Vittorio Alfieri
No full textMy paper analyzes Vittorio Alifieri’s tragedy Saul. The author writes the tragedy after reading
the Bible, and particularly Samuel’s first book. Alfieri is enthusiastic about the biblical text,
thanks to its “sublime” theme and style, very useful for adapting the story as a tragedy. Alfieri
creates Saul without betraying the spirit of the source text – he underlines the king of Israel’s
ambivalent behavior toward his son-in-law David, whom he loves and hates at the same time.
From this perspective, Saul is quite a different character from the other “tyrants” from Alfieri’s
other tragedies. In his own words, the author finds in Saul «that uncertainty of the human heart,
so magical; so, a man loving two loves opposite to one another, wants and does not want the very
same thing. This uncertainty is one of the major secrets for generating emotion and suspension in
a theatre». And Alfieri makes it. He himself plays Saul on stage, many times, since he considers
him his “dearest” character – according to the author, in this character there is «everything,
absolutely everything». Moreover, Saul has been staged with the most famous actors all along the
Nineteenth and Twentieth century
