    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

    PT Inalum (Persero), which used to be a joint company between the Indonesian government and a consortium of the Japanese investor with the name, Nippon Asahan Company, Ltd, and ended in 2013, has changed from PMA (Joint Venture) to BUMN (State Owned Company). The process of its activities becomes more complex in its business, its product, and its resources needed to run the business. Its management information system, SAP-ERP, highly supports each activity of the company, especially in decision making for its operation. The problem of this system is updating data which is sometimes hampered by its own renewal so that it takes a long time to be normal again. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The informant was the management of the Operation department for information system in the operation/production department. SAP-ERP information system consisted of 14 work modules which became the initial capital for the company to be the world’s class in aluminum. All the modules were integrated to one another so that the data would be accurate and interacted in yielding accurate decision. Closed and disclosed information system would make it easy for the management, especially in decision making. The development of the information system at PT Inalum is a must in order to anticipate and to follow technological development in accuracy, speed, reliability, and security of data.PT Inalum (Persero) yang pada awalnya merupakan perusahaankerjasama antara Pemerintah Republik Indonesia dengan konsorsium investor Jepang yang tergabung dalam Nippon Asahan Company Ltd dan telah berakhir pada akhir tahun 2013 menjadi awal terjadinya perubahan PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) dari PMA menjadi BUMN. Proses kegiatan usaha di PT Inalum (Persero) semakin komplek, baik dari segi jenis hasil usaha, produk yang dihasilkan ataupun sumber daya yang dibutuhkan untuk kegiatan usaha tersebut. Sistem informasi manajemen PT Inalum yaitu SAP ERP sangat mendukung pada setiap kegiatan perusahaan khususnya pada pengambilan keputusan untuk kegiatan operasi. Permasalahan yang dihadapi pada sistem informasi ini berupa updating data yang kadang terkendala dengan pembaruan dari sistem itu sendiri sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama untuk kembali normal. Penelitian ini yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif menjadikan pimpinan bagian operasi sebagai informan untuk sistem informasi di bagian operasi/produksi. Sistem informasi SAP ERP di PT Inalum yang terdiri dari 14 modul kerja menjadi modal bagi Inalum untuk menjadi perusahaan kelas dunia dalam bidang aluminium. Semua modul tersebut saling terintegrasi sehingga data yang akurat dan saling berinteraksi untuk menghasilkan keputusan yang tepat. Sistem informasi yang bersifat terbuka dan tertutup memberikan kemudahan bagi para pimpinan di Inalum khususnya di dalam pengambilan keputusan.     Inalum yang telah mencapai produksinya hingga 250.000 Ton per tahun dan 100% milik Indonesia, juga menyebabkan adanya kesempatan memasok industri dalam negeri 100% produksi. Pasokan yang bermula ke Jepang sekitar 225.000 ton per tahun, kini dapat dialihkan untuk kebutuhan domestik. Kebutuhan aluminium primer dalam negeri masih mengandalkan pasokan dari impor. Tahun 2023 kebutuhan aluminium Ingot mencapai 1.000.000 ton sedangkan pasokan yang ada hanya 250.000 ton dengan asumsi dari inalum, sehingga terjadi defisit atau impor sebanyak 750.000 ton. Diperkirakan kebutuhan akan terus meningkat sejalan dengan perkembangan industri aluminium hilir (otomotif, struktural, dll) dan diperkirakan kebutuhan aluminium dalam negeri akan terus meningkat, dengan kata lain kebutuhan atau potensi pasar aluminium ingot sangat besar Program Diversifikasi Produk berupa aluminium billet dan alloys ini merupakan salah satu usaha dan cara untuk bisa memberikan nilai lebih dari produk aluminium yang selama ini telah dihasilkan oleh PT Inalum, dalam aspek pasar, kebutuhan produk billet dan alloy masih besar di Indonesia sehingga peluang Inalum untuk masuk ke pasar ini sangat baik. Para pesaing sebagai pemasok billet dan alloy juga banyak untuk itu keunggulan Inalum yang dapat dijadikan positioning dalam strategi pemasarannya adalah produk Inalum berbasis prime aluminum selain itu dengan keunggulan letak geografis dibanding pesaingnya maka sangat mungkin jika Inalum memiliki delivery time yang cepat dan lebih baik.======= nalum, which has reached production of up to 250,000 tons per year and is 100% owned by Indonesia, also creates an opportunity to supply domestic industry with 100% of its production. This Product Diversification Program in the form of aluminum billets and alloys is one of the efforts and ways to provide more value from the aluminum products that have been produced by PT Inalum. In terms of the market, the need for billet and alloy products is still large in Indonesia so there is an opportunity for Inalum to enter to this market is very good. There are also many competitors as billet and alloy suppliers. Therefore, Inalum's advantage which can be used as positioning in its marketing strategy is Inalum products based on prime aluminum. Apart from that, with its geographical location advantage compared to its competitors, it is very possible that Inalum has a fast and better delivery time

    STUDI PERBEDAAN EKSPRESI p27 ANTARA ENDOMETRIOMA DAN KARSINOMA OVARII

Latar Belakang : Tumor supressor gen p27 merupakan salah satu protein yang mengatur pertumbuhan sel berkaitan dengan ikatan cyclin dependent kinase, gangguan fungsi tumor supressor gen ini menjelaskan sebuah teori tumorigenesis. Hubungan antara endometrioma dan neoplasia ditunjukkan dengan adanya sifat-sifat kanker (The Hallmarks of Cancer Mechanism) dimana salah satunya berkaitan dengan regulasi cyclin dependent kinase. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dan menganalisis perbedaan ekspresi p27 antara endometrioma dan karsinoma ovarii. Metode : Penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Rumah Sakit dr. Moewardi Surakarta dan dilakukan pengecatan imunohistokimia dan pengamatan ekspresi p27 di laboratorium Biomedik Departemen Patologi Anatomi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta yang kemudian diuji statistik dengan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil : Pemeriksaan imunohistokimia menunjukkan ekspresi p27 pada endometrioma 1,99% dan pada karsinoma ovarii 1,37%. Dengan sebaran data endometrioma 1,65 (0- 4,8) dan 1,05 (0-8,4). Tidak didapatkan perbedaan secara bermakna ekspresi p27 antara endometrioma dan karsinoma ovarii tipe 1 dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,063 (p > 0,05). Kesimpulan : Ekspresi p27 pada karsinoma ovarii lebih rendah dari pada ekspresi p27 pada endometrioma walaupun tidak didapatkan perbedaan secara bermakna, menunjukkan adanya kesamaan aspek molekuler yang dimiliki oleh endomerioma dan karsinoma ovarii tipe 1. Aspek molekuler yang dimiliki oleh p27 berperan dalam cell cycle arest. Kondisi ini menunjukkan endometrioma masih dimungkinkan menjadi karsinoma ovarii tipe 1.
