Oration of John of Damascus on the feast of annunciation in edition and translation of Gavril Stefanovic-Venclovic
Gavril Stefanovic Venclovic is, in many ways, a unique figure in Serbian
literature. Today, we know this travelling preacher, hieromonk and scribe as
the author of a huge collection of handwritings, out of which some less than
a half written in folk language. Most of them are translations of
Church-Slavonic anthologies to Serbian, with valuable Venclovic?s adaptations
and additions to the source text. An Annunciation Day oration by John of
Damascus is particularly interesting in that sense. By its dialog form, it
was suitable for Venclovic?s literary method, as his numerous additions and
adaptations show. Conversations between Archangel Gabriel and Virgin Mary,
and Virgin Mary and Joseph get distinct folklore character in Venclovic?s
interpretation. This paper brings an overview of Venclovic?s edition of
Annunciation Day oration by John of Damascus. In order to provide a broader
context, we present a brief history of Annunciation Day celebration, as well
as the historical development of this feast?s orations in Christian
tradition, with focus on Venclovic?s likely sources. To illustrate his
original literal creation, segments without matches in source text are
extracted. Language and colloquial tone of Venclovic?s edition have their
roots in the source text. However, they are also in line with his
enlightenment endeavour, expressed in his effort to reach his listeners in
order to pass the orations moral efficiently. For these reasons, Venclovic?s
insertions in John?s oration are numerous and represent a sketch of folk
spirit from the first half of 18th century, as well as an alternative path
along which the written language could have been developed.</jats:p
Plain Revelation: Reader’s Introduction to The Apocalypse
In today\u27s world, no other part of the Bible inspires so much interest, speculation, sensationalism, and confusion as the book of Revelation. This seems strange for a book that claims to be a revelation of Jesus Christ. But it doesn\u27t have to be that way. In this concise reader\u27s introduction, Revelation expert Dr. Ranko Stefanovic makes it all plain and simple.
In a straight-forward, no nonsense way, the author leads us chapter by chapter, section by section, scene by scene, through this amazing panorama of cosmic war and glory. And through it all, we see the astounding picture of a Creator God who wins it all with justice and love when Jesus Christ is plainly revealed as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.https://digitalcommons.andrews.edu/sem-books/1023/thumbnail.jp
Development of fluidized bed combustion and its application in power plants
Boilers using fluidized bed combustion (FBC) increase in number and capacity all over the world. New developments of FBC aim at building high-efficiency plants in larger sizes, intended for electric utility operation. Past and present boilers are built in sizes of less than a few hundred MW for industrial use, in many cases operated with difficult fuels or biomass and waste. There is a longer experience with these smaller boilers and the related development is focused on the properties of the fuels and their impact on boiler operation. For the future larger boilers intended for electric utilities, scale-up in size and enhancement of efficiency are the most important features of development. Enhancement of efficiency is achieved by choosing very high supercritical steam data combined with the introduction of Benson-type of steam-water flow. The aim is to compete with highly developed and efficient pulverized coal boilers

CLINTON VS TRUMP : An investigation of how the leadership of US presidential candidates is being designed discursively in Metro and Dagens Nyheter
Abstract Title:CLINTON VS TRUMP -An investigation of how the leadership of US presidential candidates is being designed discursively in Metro and Dagens Nyheter Author: Ewelina Bosak & Sandra Stefanovic In 2016 a man and a woman competed for the first time in history in becoming the President of the United States. In 2016 one could read about the American presidential election every day in any newspaper. With this in mind, we want to examine the leadership being applied to the candidates by the news sources Metro and Dagens Nyheter. As leadership traditionally is considered a masculine feature, we apply a gender perspective to this study. The questions we intend to answer: - What discourse is construed by Metro and Dagens Nyheter regarding the leadership of Clinton and Trump? - How are Clinton and Trump being portrayed from a gender perspective? We used the method of discourse analysis, as it advocates the principle of language being the primary tool in shaping our realities. The theoretical framework we use to interpret and explain our results is based on discourse theory as well as the social construction of age and gender. Our research shows that Trump is generally being portrayed in a way not considered to be "right" in accordance to the leadership- or age norm. The discourse of Trump presents him as an inexperienced, dishonest and attempted leader with an childish behaviour. Trump is also often described through typically considered feminine features. Clinton, being perceived as almost invisible and often depicted in comparison to Trump or other male leaders, is at the same time portrayed as a successful, experienced, driven and intelligent leader. However, we have discovered that in spite of Clinton’s described leadership features she is constantly also criticised for being cold and not evoking any feelings or engagement. Clinton is not only being questioned on the basis of the masculine leadership norms, but also on the lack characteristics in line with the feminine norm

Role of the judiciary in shaping federations: cases of the Supreme Court in the United States of America and the Court of Justice in the European Union
The author of this article uses the comparative method in describing how judicial bodies through their case law shaped and modeled the federal structures of government in the cases of the United States and the European Union. Through initially laying out the theoretical explanations of the significance of constitutional (judicial) review in federal structures, and elaborating on the powers and position of the Supreme Court in the United States and the Court of Justice in the European Union, he seeks to show how these bodies influenced, in similar ways, some of the key features of these two federal organizations
