The Sustainability of Wildlife in Agroforestry Land
AbstractWildlife management in agroforestry territory has become particularly complex in recent years because of the increase of animal density. This study proposes a review of the literature on the impact of wildlife in many areas of the world. In particular, it examines the negative effects due to the strong growth of wildlife populations and consequently the loss of the balance of agricultural and forest ecosystems. A second portion of the study shows the results of an investigation related to the rural area of the Region of Tuscany: Recreation-Opportunity-Spectrum - ROS (North American Methodology) implemented in Geographical Information System - GIS, is used with the aim of determining suitable areas for damages by wild animals. The final goal of the paper is to highlight some possible choices to be adopted by Stakeholders in order to bring the phenomenon within the limits of sustainability

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Asymmetric competition between the autochthonous deer ked Lipoptena cervi and the alien L. fortisetosa (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) in Cervus elaphus
Erratum: Lack of immunity against rubella among Italian young adults. [BMC Infect Dis., 17, (2017) (199)] Doi: 10.1186/s12879-017-2295-y
After publication of this article [1], the authors noted that the given names and family names of all authors had been inverted, and are therefore incorrect in the original article. In the original article, the author names appear as the following: Gallone Maria Serena, Gallone Maria Filomena, Larocca Angela Maria Vittoria, Germinario Cinzia and Tafuri Silvio. The author names have been corrected in the author list and the citation for this Erratum
Distribution of Deer Keds (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) in Free-Living Cervids of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, Central Italy, and Establishment of the Allochthonous Ectoparasite Lipoptena fortisetosa
Lipoptena fortisetosa and L. cervi are hematophagous ectoparasites belonging to the Hippoboscidae
family and preferentially living on cervids. In recent years, they have received specific
attention due to the great increase in the abundance of their host species, and to their medical and
veterinary importance as possible vectors of pathogens harmful to humans and animals. The aim of
this study was to investigate the parasitism level of both of these flies on their main hosts in Italy,
which are red deer, fallow deer, and roe deer, and to highlight a possible preference for a species,
sex, or age class among the hosts. Deer keds were collected by examining 326 cervids hunted in the
Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Outcomes showed that L. fortisetosa has greatly spread throughout the
study area, where it competes with the autochthonous L. cervi. Moreover, red deer was the favored
host species of both ectoparasites, while different preferences for host sex and age classes were
observed in the two hippoboscids. The regular monitoring of deer ked populations, especially the
allochthonous L. fortisetosa, which is continuously spreading in Europe, is recommended to expand
the knowledge on these parasitic species that are potentially dangerous to public health
