Direct Far-infrared Metal Abundances (FIRA). I. M101
Accurately determining gas-phase metal abundances within galaxies is critical as metals strongly affect the physics of the interstellar medium. To date, the vast majority of widely used gas-phase abundance indicators rely on emission from bright optical lines, whose emissivities are highly sensitive to the electron temperature. Alternatively, direct-abundance methods exist that measure the temperature of the emitting gas directly, though these methods usually require challenging observations of highly excited auroral lines. Low-lying far-infrared (FIR) fine structure lines are largely insensitive to electron temperature and thus provide an attractive alternative to optically derived abundances. Here, we introduce the far-infrared abundance (FIRA) project, which employs these FIR transitions, together with both radio free-free emission and hydrogen recombination lines, to derive direct, absolute gas-phase oxygen abundances. Our first target is M101, a nearby spiral galaxy with a relatively steep abundance gradient. Our results are consistent with the O++ electron temperatures and absolute oxygen abundances derived using optical direct-abundance methods by the CHemical Abundance Of Spirals (CHAOS) program, with a small difference (∼1.5σ) in the radial abundance gradients derived by the FIR/free-free-normalized versus CHAOS/direct-abundance techniques. This initial result demonstrates the validity of the FIRA methodology-with the promise of determining absolute metal abundances within dusty star-forming galaxies, both locally and at high redshift. © 2022. Rescriptum Constantini de quadraginta annorum praescriptione (FIRA, I, 96 e FIRA, III, 101)
This study provides the full text of the P. Col. VII. 175 translated into Italian, concerning the transcript of a hearing conducted in front of Arsinoite’s σύνδικος in A.D. 339, and known in the field of doctrine as it cites a Constantine’s constitution regarding the longissimi temporis praescriptio. After reconstructing the trial and the early events preceding the lawsuit, defining the trial roles and detecting the nature of action and the reason why it was filed, the author has analysed the different juridical profiles of the text such as the evidence of the judicial function of the ἐπάρχος τῆς Αἰγύπτου; the judgemental function of the σύνδικος and the difficulty of identifying him as the defensor civitatis; the probable reference to calumnia actoris; the nature of the constitution; the awkward reconstruction of the text and its identification with the lex costantiniana mentioned in C.7.39.2 pr

Summary
Experiments on rats subjected to simultaneous impact of tetrachlormethane and increased adrenaline doses, revealed activated protein oxidative modification and lipoperoxidation. This caused suppression of tissue energy supply that is confirmed by decreased cytochrome oxidase and succinate dehydrogenase. The detected disorders were found to induce cardiocyte cytolysis, indicated by increased blood serum kreatine phosphokinase and lactate dehydrogenase activity alongside with its decrease in rats’ myocardium after the impact. Mexidol, used as an antioxidant, revealed positive influence on free radical oxidation processes as well as on the normalization of myocardial bioenergetics.

This Bachelor's thesis was commissioned by Fira Oy, a Finnish-owned prominent construction company. Fira Oy's construction projects include business and office premises, care facilities, industrial premises and power plants, parking solutions and demanding underground structures.
The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis was to research the potential solutions offered by digitalization to improve the processing of lists of faults and defects on worksites. The aim was to find out which application would best meet the client's requirements. Topic-related literature was studied and in addition, the employees of Fira Oy were interviewed by using questionnaires. The author also applied his personal experience and expertise gathered from worksites.
As a result of the study, a few suitable applications were found for the client to optimize the company's operations concerning the processing of lists of faults and defects
Crystal orientation and grain size: Do they determine optoelectronic properties of MAPbI3 Perovskite?
Growing large, oriented grains of perovskite often leads to efficient devices, but it is unclear if properties of the grains are responsible for the efficiency. Domains observed in SEM are commonly misidentified with crystallographic grains, but SEM images do not provide diffraction information. We study methylammoinium lead iodide (MAPbI3) films fabricated via flash infrared annealing (FIRA) and the conventional antisolvent (AS) method by measuring grain size and orientation using electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) and studying how these affect optoelectronic properties such as local photoluminescence (PL), charge carrier lifetimes, and mobilities. We observe a local enhancement and shift of the PL emission at different regions of the FIRA clusters, but we observe no effect of crystal orientation on the optoelectronic properties. Additionally, despite substantial differences in grain size between the two systems, we find similar optoelectronic properties. These findings show that optoelectronic quality is not necessarily related to the orientation and size of crystalline domains.</p

FEMALE REPRESENTATION IN NOVEL SAINTS AND MISFITS: A FEMINIST STYLISTICS PERSPECTIVE
Women in literary works are often portrayed as dependent, passive, and focused on their physical attractiveness. However, the researcher found that in characterizing Janna as the main character of the novel Saints and Misfits, the author’s writing style tends to show positive characteristics. Saints and Misfits is a novel published in 2017 and written by a Muslim feminist, Sajidah K. Ali. This study focused on the representation of a female main character written by a female author. In this study, the researcher uses a qualitative method with purposive sampling and uses the feminist stylistics theory proposed by Sara Mills. Feminist stylistics offers a framework that analyzes texts with three different levels: words, phrases/sentences, and discourse. By applying the theory, this study aims to find how the author of the novel used language to represent or portray Janna as the main character in the novel Saints and Misfits at the word/phrase level, sentence level, and discourse level. After conducting the research, the researcher found that Janna, the main character of the novel Saints and Misfits, is represented by the author as a positive character. At the word/phrase level, Janna is described with more positive connotations rather than negative ones. At the sentence level, Janna appears as an active character who has control of her own decisions and actions. Also, at the discourse level, Janna is represented as smart, creative, religious, and a subject with complex thoughts, motivations, and purposes. The positive representation of the female main character is a rejection of the negative stereotypes that often restrict female characters to passiveness and sexual attractiveness
