Searching the Learning Culture in an Intellectual Profession
Öğrenme kültürü, son yılların popüler kavramlarından biri olarak çoğunlukla enformel öğrenme
bağlamında sıkça ele alınmaktadır. Enformel öğrenme, kendiliğindenliği ve çekiciliği dolayısıyla yaşam
boyu öğrenme için oldukça geniş öğrenme fırsatları içermektedir. Kültürel katılım ise, enformel
öğrenmenin bir çok formunu kapsayan bir kavram olarak yaşam boyu öğrenme için zengin bir kaynaktır.
Entelektüel bir meslek alanının icracıları olan öğretmenlerin kültürel sermaye dağılımındaki konumları,
kültürel yeniden üretim ve aktarımda kritik bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışma, öğretmen adaylarının
kültürel katılımlarını yaşam boyu öğrenme kültürü bağlamında değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Araştırmada, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışma evrenini, Ankara
Üniversitesi‟nde öğrenim görmekte olan 538 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarının
kültürel katılımına ilişkin veriler araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Kültürel Katılım Anketi‟‟ ile
toplanmıştır. Veriler, frekans ve yüzde dağılımları üzerinden analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda,
öğretmen adaylarının büyük çoğunluğunun enformel öğrenme kaynaklarını etkin kullanmadıkları ve
kültürel katılımlarının sınırlı olduğu görülmektedir.Learning culture, as one of the popular concepts of recent years, is frequently discussed in the context of
informal learning. Informal learning, due to its spontaneity and attractiveness, contains a wide range of
learning opportunities for lifelong learning. On the other hand, cultural participation is a rich resource for
lifelong learning as a concept that covers many forms of informal learning. The positions of teachers, who
are the performers of an intellectual profession play a critical role in cultural reproduction and transfer.
This study was conducted to evaluate the cultural participation of teacher candidates in the context of
lifelong learning culture. The study employed the survey model as a quantitative research method. The
universe of the study consists of 538 teacher candidates from Ankara University. The Cultural
Participation Survey, developed by the author, was employed to collect data on the cultural participation
patterns of teacher candidates. The data were analyzed in terms of frequency and percentage distributions.
As a result of the research, it is seen that most of the teacher candidates do not use informal learning
resources effectively and their cultural participation is limited
Kadınların siyasal öğrenme deneyimleri: KA.DER eğitimi
The aim of this research is to determine the dynamics of participation of the training, expectations and educational acquirements of women who participated in the Project of the ’Empowerment of Women Citizens’’ conducted by KADER in the context of gender issue. The sample of the research is composed of 23 women who participated in the training activity. The research data was optained with qualitative methods and the interviews were conducted with the sample group by using the interview form developed by researcher. As a result of the study, it has been found that the participants experienced critical learning about gender mainstreaming and the practice to overcome the ideas that blocked women for political participation. The participants remarked that the training activities provide courage, self reliance and motivation for women and contribute to raising awareness among women for political participatio
Yaşam boyu öğrenme bağlamında Türkiye’deki kültürel alana ilişkin bir değerlendirme
The cultural domain may be defined as a sphere of influence that involves all cultural activities, whether economic or social in nature. In the context of lifelong learning, cultural and artistic environments represent tools and media of significance for formal and informal adult learning. The availability of learning opportunities in the cultural domain, the achievement of cultural competence by all individuals, and their cultural participation are strongly associated with lifelong learning. The research study employed a descriptive survey model with a view to establishing the data available in Turkey with respect to cultural productivity and participation. The study was structured on the basis of the data in Turkey as pertains to the budget allocated to culture and cultural expenditure, as well as performing arts, printed media, libraries, and museums. In summary, a general evaluation of the present state of productivity and participation in the cultural domain and its course over the years gives way to the argument that the cultural domain in Turkey is far from offering a source of possibilities and tools that would allow for the wider dissemination of the culture of learning.Kültürel alan, ekonomik ve sosyal tüm kültürel faaliyetleri kapsayan bir etki alanı olarak tanımlanabilir. belirlemek üzere betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Veriler, 2000-2018 yıllarını kapsamaktadır. Çalışma; kültürel
alan kapsamında Türkiye’de kültüre ayrılan bütçe, kültür harcamaları, gösteri sanatları, yazılı medya, kütüphane ve
müzelere ilişkin veriler üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Özetle, kültürel alandaki üretimin ve katılımın yıllara göre seyri ve
mevcut durumu genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde Türkiye’de kültürel alanın öğrenme kültürünün yaygınlaşmasını
sağlayabilecek olanak ve araçlar sunmaktan uzak olduğu söylenebilir. Veriler, Türkiye’de pek çok boyutuyla kültürel
katılımın oldukça düşük bir nüfus oranıyla sınırlı olduğunu göstermektedir
Kadınların siyasal eğitimi: KA:DER örneği
Yapılan araştırmada, KA.DER'in düzenlemiş olduğu ''Kadın Yurttaşların ve Aktivistlerin Seçmenler ve Aktif Yurttaşlar Olarak Güçlendirilmesi Projesi''ndeki katılımcı kadınların eğitime katılma dinamiklerinin, beklentilerinin ve kazanımlarının toplumsal cinsiyet bağlamında saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubunu; Aydın, Sinop ve Çanakkale'de düzenlenen eğitime katılan kadınlardan Aydın'dan 8, Sinop'tan 8 ve Çanakkale'den 7 olmak üzere toplam 23 katılımcı kadın oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, nitel yöntemle elde edilmiş ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen görüşme formu kullanılarak, çalışma grubunu oluşturan kişilerle görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Bununla birlikte, eğitim ortamına katılarak gözlem yapılmış, katılımcılarla informal sohbet yapılmış, araştırma konusu çerçevesindeki literatür taranmıştır. Veriler sayısallaştırma kaygısı olmaksızın, nitel veri analiz yöntemiyle çözümlenmiş, araştırmanın amacına uygun veriler öncelikle kodlanmış ve betimsel çözümlemesi yapılmış ardından; araştırma sorularına göre oluşturulan çerçevede veriler bir araya getirilip çözümlenerek yorumlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, bu eğitimde kadınların verili toplumsal cinsiyet rollerini ve kadını kamusal alanın tepesinde olan siyasal katılımdan alıkoyan pratikleri eleştirel/sorgulayıcı bir bakışla analiz edip 'söylem' düzeyinde bir dönüşümün yaşandığı söylenebilir. Kadınların bu eğitime; bilgi edinmek, bilinçlenmek ve etrafındakileri bilinçlendirmek için katıldıkları ve bu konuda çoğunlukla beklentilerinin karşılandığı görülmüştür. Bu eğitimin cesaret, özgüven, farkındalık, motivasyon sağlayarak kendilerini güçlendirdiğini ve kadınların siyasal yaşama katılımda bu tarz eğitimlerin etkili olacağını belirtmişlerdir. The data which was fit for the purpose of the research was coded and first descriptive analysis was made, and it was interpreted by taking into consideration the research questions subsequently. As a result of the study, it has been found that the participants experienced critical learning about gender mainstreaming and the practice to overcome the ideas that blocked women for political participation. It was found out that the participants attended the training activities to get information, become conscious and raise awareness of those around. As for their expectations were mostly met. The participants remarked that the training activities provide courage, self reliance and motivation for women and contribute to raising awareness among women for political participation. They also suggested that the training should be more interactive, practical and eliminated the attitude of traditional teacher
Evolution of research on energy import dependency: collaboration networks, thematic trends, and emerging hotspots /
This study aims to reveal the evolution and main trends of the academic literature on energy import dependency through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. The study analyzed publications from SCOPUS and Web of Science databases between 2000 and 2024. The methods used include visualization of publication trends, author and country collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrences, and thematic changes over time. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that themes such as "energy security", "renewable energy", "sustainability", and "vulnerability" came to the fore, especially in the last decade. In addition, it was found that author and country collaboration networks exhibited a strong structure at both interdisciplinary and international levels. The findings demonstrate that energy import dependency is no longer merely a technical or economic issue but has evolved into a multidimensional research area encompassing sustainability, diversification, and energy policies. As a result, this study serves as a valuable reference for the current state and future development of the field
Küresel Rekabet Gücü Konusundaki Yayınların Görsel Haritalandırılması ve Bibliyometrik Analizi
One of the primary goals of a country is to increase the real income of its people in convenient free market conditions and the long run. Global competitiveness is also related to the ability to produce goods and services following the standards of international markets. Objective: The main purpose of this research is to reveal and make the bibliometric analysis of the publications, researchers, related institutions, countries and their connections published in the field of global competitiveness between 1991-2021 through visual mapping. Method: The current data of the research were collected from the publications indexed in the Web of Science database in January 2022. We analyzed the data according to inclusion and exclusion criteria of 613 articles published in 426 journals. In the research, we made common word analysis of key concepts, citation analysis, common citation analysis, institution/university analysis, and country analysis of publications on "global competitiveness." Findings: The findings determined that those working on the concept of global competitiveness discussed the basic assumptions of global competitiveness and the basic concepts in this field together. Another finding is that the interest in global competitiveness is increasing day by day, and the interest in the subject is relatively higher in developing and developed countries. Originality: Co-author and citation analyses show that researchers from different universities and countries have a working culture. In addition, the interest shown in the issue of global competitiveness shows that scientific institutions have an important place in the development of global thought
Effective Oil/Water Separation Sorbent Based on Nylon 6,6-Organoclay Nanofiber Mats
Oil spills and marine pollution caused by oil spills have a serious effect on environment and human life. The efficient removal of oils, petroleum-based products, and organic solvents from water is important for protecting the environment. Oil-absorbent nanofiber mats with high oleophilicity were prepared by electrospinning in the present work. Nylon 6,6 is chosen as a crystalline polymer with oleophilic hydrocarbon chains that are linked by hydrophilic functional amides. There has been little research into using electrospun Nylon 6,6 as an oil absorbent to remove oil from water. Two different organically modified montmorillonites (o-MMT, with trade names Tixogel VP and Cloisite 20A—C20A) are separately incorporated into Nylon 6,6 polymer to produce nanofiber mats with more oleophilic properties. To achieve efficient dispersion and exfoliation of organoclays in Nylon 6,6/formic acid solution, ultrasonication is applied for 30min, followed by mixing for 24h with a magnetic stirrer. After reaching a more homogenous solution, Nylon 6,6-organoclay nanofiber mats were then successfully electrospun by the electrospinning technique and characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and water contact angle measurement (WCA). The mechanical properties of the mats were also evaluated. The absorption behavior of the mats for motor oil and other domestic oils was investigated and the absorption capacity calculated in terms of weight gain. Differences in the absorption capacity of these three types of oil were found to be due to the surface tension of the solvents in the oil and viscosity. It has been found that the nanofibers produced have a very high oil absorption capacity in the case of a 2 loading of organoclay. These newly produced mats demonstrated excellent motor oil absorption of 60–80 times their own weight in motor oil. It can be concluded that these novel oil-absorbing materials are promising candidates for the treatment of wastewater containing oil. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to the Korean Fiber Society 2024
Effect of tool pin profile on the hook geometry and mechanical properties of a friction stir spot welded AA6082-T6 aluminum alloy
AA6082-T6 alloy was joined by friction stir spot welding using five different pin profiles, namely cylindrical, conical, triangular, hexagonal, and cylindrical with two grooves, at different dwell time. The joints welded by cylindrical pins had larger effective weld width. However, grooves on the cylindrical pin decreased the effective weld width. In the weld made with the hexagonal pin, the hook was bent downward from the interface of the sheets and had the smallest effective weld width. When the conical pin was used, the effective weld width increased with increasing dwell time. In the case of using tools with cylindrical and conical pins, HAZ hardness was relatively lower. With increasing dwell time, HAZ hardness of the joints made with the conical pin decreased. Effective weld width determined the weld strength under the tensile shear loading condition: larger effective weld width resulted in higher weld strength. Weld strength of the joints made with cylindrical pins was higher. The joints fabricated with hexagonal pins had the lowest weld strength. In general, higher dwell time led to higher weld strength. The welds with the higher strength experienced both brittle and ductile fractures, while the joints with the lower strength exhibited completely brittle fracture.The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page.
