Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica.Neste trabalho apresenta-se o aperfeiçoamento do anemômetro a efeito Peltier apresentado por Güths[1]. Para isso foram alteradas tanto as dimensões dos sensores como a eletrônica necessária ao dispositivo. A modificação do método de otimização dos sensores ocasionou um aumento na sensibilidade proporcionada pelo instrumento; a evolução na eletrônica possibilitou a compensação em temperatura, maior flexibilização na geração dos sinais envolvidos no anemômetro e diminuição da complexidade de construção. O dispositivo obtido mostrou-se capaz de medir velocidades entre 5 cm/s e 80 cm/s
Improving the Efficiency of Peltier Cooling with Recuperative Power Management
No full textPeltier elements offers new qualities in various cooling applications, but do not compare well with traditional cooling systems due to a low efficiency. This paper claims an approach to increase Peltier element based cooling system efficiency using advanced power management system. It is realized by using Peltier element as Thermo Electro Generator periodically turning excess heat to electricity. This method is effective in several specific applications that suffer from weak heat dissipatoin. Such system was created to expose potential gain for human body microclimate controlling system. Experiments revealed that it is possible to recuperate up to 3% of supplied energy at 3 to 5 °C temperature difference between hot and cold side of Peltier element. Main advantages and drawbacks are presented, including further study opportunities. Research opens new direction for improving cooling ability of Peltier elements, thus bringing it one step closer to efficiency of gas compression based cooling systems

No full textA Peltier elem kalibrációs vizsgálatának a célja az, hogy elkészítsek egy olyan mérő rendszert, amely képes különböző típusú Termoelektromos generátor (TEG) kalibrációs méréseinek elvégzésére.
Ezen cél tekintetében kívánok létrehozni egy olyan mérőberendezést, amely alkalmas különböző típusú TEG-ek fogadására. A rendszer összeállítása után pedig megvizsgálom egy kiválasztott TEG üresjárati feszültségét. Illetve kivezetéseire csatlakoztatok egy változtatható ellenállású terhelést és meg fogom mérni a TEG teljesítményét különböző hőmérséklet különbségeken. A mért adatokból meghatározom, az eszköz munkapontját különböző beállítások mellet, ezekből a csúcsértékekből elkészítem az adott TEG belső ellenállás görbéjét a hőmérséklet függésében, majd összehasonlítom az adatlapjában található értékekkel.gjVillamosmérnökBSc/B

No full textInterview with Carl Peltier, a U. S Marine during World War II. He begins by discussing his reaction to the attack on Pearl Harbor. He then joined the Marines when he was old enough. He trained in San Diego before shipping out to Hawaii where he joined the 2nd Marine Division. Further training included heavy weapons and mortars. Later, he landed on Saipan and describes his small arms and rations. He witnessed General Simon Buckner getting killed on Okinawa. He was later wounded on Okinawa. After the war ended, Peltier served in the Pentagon during the Korean War
Using Peltier elements in low temperature district heating networks
No full textBy placing multiple Peltier elements in a linear arrangement while two water flows run past the elements, a temperature increase can be realised in one flow while the other flow is cooled down. In this study the heating of domestic hot water with Peltier elements as solid state heat pumps, and a heating network was investigated. A numerical model that solves the thermal energy balance within the Peltier elements was derived to describe the internal temperature distribution of the Peltier element, and its interaction with the domestic hot water and the heating network. The model was used to simulate the performance of 40 Peltier elements in a custom designed Peltier Heat Exchanger. Experiments were run to validate the numerical model. The numerical simulation of the temperature distribution within a Peltier Heat Exchanger and the temperature distributions observed in the experiments were not in agreement. The model input parameters Seebeck coefficient, resistance, thermal conductivity and a relation for the Nusselt number were re-evaluated using the experimental results. After the adjustment of the model input parameters, the new simulation results were able to accurately describe the temperature distribution with the Peltier Heat Exchanger. The Peltier Heat Exchanger was able to deliver domestic hot water with a COP between 1.2 and 1.8 depending on the flow speed of the domestic hot water and the heating network. No full textAceastă lucrare explorează eficacitatea modulelor Peltier ca soluție pentru managementul temperaturii în serele de dimensiuni reduse, concentrându-se pe implementarea și optimizarea acestor dispozitive termoelectrice. Experimentele realizate demonstrează capacitatea modulelor Peltier de a răci rapid și eficient, reducând temperatura unei căni cu apă de la 23°C la 7.2°C în doar 9 minute, și a unei camere izolate termic de la 25°C la 16°C în 10 minute. Detaliile tehnice, inclusiv principiul de funcționare al efectului Peltier și metodele de control al temperaturii, sunt discutate pentru a ilustra adaptabilitatea și precizia acestui sistem în contextul agriculturii sustenabile
