Mouse models of gallstone disease
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: The establishment of mouse models of gallstones, and the contribution of mouse models to genetic studies of gallstone disease, as well as the latest advances in the pathophysiology of gallstones from mouse experiments are summarized. RECENT FINDINGS: The combined uses of genomic strategies and phenotypic studies in mice have successfully led to the identification of many Lith genes, which pave the way for the discovery of human LITH genes. The physical-chemical, genetic, and molecular biological studies of gallstone disease in mice with knockout or transgene of specific target genes have provided many novel insights into the complex pathophysiological mechanisms of this very common hepatobiliary disease worldwide, showing that interactions of five primary defects play a critical role in the pathogenesis of cholesterol gallstones. Based on mouse studies, a new concept has been proposed that hepatic hypersecretion of biliary cholesterol is induced by multiple Lith genes, with insulin resistance as part of the metabolic syndrome interacting with cholelithogenic environmental factors to cause the phenotype. SUMMARY: The mouse model of gallstones is crucial for elucidating the physical-chemical and genetic mechanisms of cholesterol crystallization and gallstone formation, which greatly increase our understanding of the pathogenesis of this disease in humans
Sustainability, a requirement in projects: An exploratory research to develop a framework for sustainability requirements management in Transmission System Operators (TSO) projects
Sustainability has become a prominent term in policy-oriented research as an expression of what public policies seek to achieve (Kuhlman & Farrington,2010). It has been a developing idea, frequently receiving attention from society, governmental agendas, and the innovative field (Tamak,2017). Organisations are now rapidly taking steps towards incorporating sustainability in their activities and projects. However, even though there are guiding principles mentioned in the literature, practice reveals that organisations still have trouble in the long-term implementation of sustainability in projects (Kammerl et al., 2017; Stewart et al., 2016). One of the most difficult challenges TSOs (Transmission Grid operators) face in successfully integrating sustainable requirements in projects is translating high-level sustainability goals into quantifiable and measurable sustainability aspects. The main aim of this research is to develop a framework for managing sustainability requirements in TSO projects. The objective of the research is to successfully reduce the gap present in managing sustainability requirements in TSO projects. This research is divided into three phases. Phase one is literature review, where an in-depth study regarding sustainability requirements from the context of TSO, organisations and projects was done. Phase two is emiprical research done through semi-structured interviews. This phase contributed towards understanding the current situation of sustainability requirement in TSO's projects as well as the uncertainties found. This is followed by phase three, which develops the framework. The sustainability requirements management framework is a goal oriented process and aims in translating ambitions into actions. The practicability of the framework is at the program level only, as this framework aims in aligning project sustainability requirements with the strategic ambitions, resulting in better sustainable performance. The framework also assists in understanding the benefits sustainability requirements gives when implemented well in the project. Civil Engineering | Construction Management and Engineerin
Involuntary Admissions, and Treatments (TSO) for Individuals Suffering from Schizophrenia: A Reflection on Patient Safety, and Quality of Care
Introduction: Since the Italian Mental Health Act of 1978, public attention on the outcomes of Involuntary Hospital Treatment (TSO) for people struggling with Schizophrenia (SCZ) has increased. The practice is controversial because it goes against the Human Rights standards. Against this background, the author investigates factors linked to coercive measures, and personal experiences of acute care. He hypothesizes that limitation of freedom negatively affects the quality of the therapeutic relationship (TR). Materials, and Methods: Semi structured qualitative interviews (QIs) of individuals (n = 20) who were eligible for inclusion if the following criteria applied: [1] DSM-V diagnosis of Schizophrenia; [2] Having received at least one TSO; [3] Being outpatients; and [4] having emotional, and cognitional stability. The interview text was transcribed verbatim and analyzed by means of a phenomenological method. Results. The cohort described TSO as an unwelcome, and intrusive practice. Even if clinicians often justified the admissions, only a few patients gave an account of being told why their agency was eroded. Moreover, TSO damages Self-confidence, and trust in public services. Inasmuch, to prevent distress and avoid an outflow of so-called psychiatric refugees, the Italian government needs to improve joint crisis plans between patients, families, and medical equips. Discussion. The Republic of Italy does not have asylums but community-centers, and psychiatric wards within general hospitals. The Law No. 833 of 23 December 1978 established the possibility of a TSO for a period of 1-7 days in the simultaneous presence of [1] Psychiatric conditions that require urgent therapy; [2] Patient’s refusal of assistance; and [3] Circumstances that do not consent other less-invasive strategies. To author’s knowledge, this is one of the few qualitative reflections done on the pros and cons of adult Psychiatry, in Italy. The survey adds valuable information regarding degree, and predictors of loss of autonomy, dignity, and the possibility of interpersonal contact.

The Use of Proverbs in Literature : The Cases of Tso-chuan 左傳 and Shih-chi 史記
This papar is a preliminary attempt to examine the use of proverbs in literature as a part of the investigation into the process whereby orally transmitted words came to be written down. Proverbs reflect the social condition and the ethical concept of the people of where they are born. The skillful use of them in literature, therefore, can enhance its persuasive power by arousing the audiences' sympathy. Proverbs are called yen 諺in Chinese classics. Although there must have been a great number of them, only few have come to be written down, and they are limited to those selected due to the authors' particular needs and preferences. Yens are used effectively to carry euphemistic admonitions advices in Tso-chuan. They are found alongside with quotations from Shih-ching 詩経 and Shu-ching 書経 and sayings of ancient sages, often to show the wisdom from everyday life lacked in them. It is evident, thus, that the author of Tso-chuan did not regard the yen as something vulgar. The yens quoted in Shih-chi, on the other hand, are chiefly those concerned with the fate of men. This is perhaps due to the Ssu-ma Ch'ien's 司馬遷 own interest. There are also yens quoted in memorials presented by the bureaucrats of the time ; they, however, lack the fine quality such as in those found in Tso-chuan, and are nothing but vulgar. In addition, the book Ku-yao-yen 古謡諺 contains many proverbs and folk songs used in the literature of later times. In the present study, however, I limited my examination only to those used in Tso-chuan and Shih-chi

I-DIDACTIEK EN METHODIEK I.1 Even opfrissen. Spectrum of confined and interface phonons in complicated cylindrical nanoheterosystem placed into the plane quantum well in water
The energy spectra of all types of free vibrations existing in combined nanoheterosystem consisting of cylindrical
semiconductor quantum dot, semiconductor quantum ring embedded into the quantum well placed in water are studied in
the framework of dielectric continuum model. It is shown that depending on the boundary conditions for the potentials of
polarization fields there are two types of interface phonon modes: top (bottom) surface optical (TSO) modes and side
surface optical (SSO) modes
Decentralized TSO-DSO coordination for voltage regulation purposes based on renewable energy sources management – Sensitivity and robustness analyses
Copyright © 2022 The Author. The increasing penetration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in distribution networks has led traditional voltage regulation to their boundaries. In order to develop advanced techniques for voltage control in this new context, an adequate and real-time coordination and communication between Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs) is needed. In this paper, a decentralized TSO-DSO coordination approach for scheduling and deploying optimal reactive power exchanges in the DSO's boundary for improved voltage control in the TSO's networks is proposed. The proposed approach is implemented via a standardized Business Use Case (BUC). The interoperability between the TSO, the DSO, and other stakeholders is solved by designing and developing the BUC within the framework of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Common Information Model (CIM) family of standards IEC61970, IEC61968, and IEC62325. In view of the lack of pilot tests in the field, the proposed standardized BUC is demonstrated on real-world Slovenian TSO's and DSO's networks. The simulation experiments presented in this paper are twofold. On one hand, the proposed data exchange mechanism based on the standardized BUC demonstrates the feasibility of successfully exchanging data between the TSO, the DSO, and other stakeholders, such as the Significant Grid Users (SGUs) and Meter Operators, as a CIM Common Grid Model Exchange Standard (CGMES) format. On the other hand, the capability of the proposed decentralized TSO-DSO coordination approach to regulate the High Voltage (HV) by managing the reactive power injected by different RES, such as capacitor banks and different Distributed Generators (DGs), viz. hydropower, Photovoltaic (PV), and thermal (co-generation) units, is validated via sensitivity and robustness analyses for different network topologies, DGs’ operating scenarios, and capacitor banks’ sizes and locations. The simulation results show that the proposed approach can manage DGs toward contributing additional (positive or negative) reactive power to reduce the voltage deviations in the grid, improve the power quality at the DSO's boundary by reducing the flow of reactive power from the TSO's to the DSO's networks and vice versa, and keep the HV voltage within safe values. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the capacitor banks, where the capability of the proposed approach to manage their injected reactive power to regulate the HV voltage is highly dependent on their sizes and location, being necessary to be studied on a case-by-case basis. This paper is based on TDX-ASSIST project that has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 774500
