In all her novels, she explores the human condition and more specifically that of women. Breaking the silence that oppresses Antillean women, Gisèle Pineau delves into the destinies of women from Guadeloupe, scrutinizing the environment of her island and elsewhere, reinventing the French language, and giving voice and identity to all those women who have never had the possibility to express themselves.
After having introduced the author in a postcolonial context linked with the theory of the feminine writing and its expressions in Caribbean literature, the plight of women is described through the experience of their bodies in Antillean society and elsewhere. The author focuses on physical and psychological violence denouncing the treatment of women. Escaping from oppression, women look for the space to rebuild a new life and a new identity

jouissance et à l'exercice des droits civils, l'auteur s'attarde davantage
aux protections accordées à la personne physique, tant au
niveau du corps, de l'esprit et de la personnalité. Il relève les
incapacités édictées au profit des mineurs et de certaines personnes
majeures. Il traite également des éléments d'individualisation consacrés
par le nouveau Code pour distinguer tant la personne physique
que la personne morale.Abstract: In this text, Professor Pineau outlines the main features of the
new book of the Civil Code of Quebec on the rights of the persons.
Reminding some well-known principles about the en joyments of civil
rights, the author stresses the protections provided to the natural
person (of one's body, one's mind and one's personnality), and
presents the incapacities enacted in favor of the rninor and certain
major persons. Finally, he discusses the components of the individualisation
of the natural and the artificial person

Cruzar el mar, anclada en tierra: Arraigo y memoria en la narrativa de Gisèle Pineau
No full textA partir del análisis de las novelas L’exil selon Julia [El exilio según Julia] (1996) y Mes quatre femmes [Mis cuatro mujeres] (2007), mostraré los procesos de arraigo cultural con los que trabaja la autora. Pineau sintetiza el exilio, la discriminación sufrida, la invalidez del creol y la nostalgia por el país de origen; a la par que propicia un rescate de ese propio país por la memoria afectiva y su admirable transmisión a través de la oralidad.
