Exploring the Evolution of Digital Transformation Research in Non-profit Organisations: A Bibliometric Analysis
In recent years, research on Digital Transformation (DT) has increased significantly in relation to the need to manage uncertainty and unexpected events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, among the studies examining economic, societal, and industry-related implications, DT initiatives emerge as a global priority in the “new normal” toward resilience, well-being, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Accordingly, although a significant number of reviews summarising the DT debate populating the literature, the IS community clamour for deepening the current knowledge of the DT process by advancing theoretical diversity. Among other, DT initiatives in non-profit organisations (NPOs) seems to be only partially explored. For this reason, our aim is to advance the comprehension of the DT process in NPOs by performing a bibliometric analysis of the literature debating this specific phenomenon. To this end, we extracted 586 contributions published from 1983 to 2022 using the Scopus database. Then, we investigate the conceptual structure of the DT discourse concerning NPOs. The outcome of this paper is twofold: (1) to quantitatively describe the existing research and its evolution by considering different sources; (2) to recognise the main topics characterising the DT discourse in NPOs by performing a co-word analysis. This preliminary study draws a more comprehensive overview of the debate compared to previous qualitative research, exploring some novel discussions that could not be still addressed in journal articles
Digitalize thy Place: Benefits and Challenges in the Development of Smart Destinations
Digital transformation is affecting companies worldwide, with effects on different industries. In this paper we focus on the tourism sector, and investigate how firms and related territories may leverage digital transformation and which challenges they may face in adopting digital solutions. To do so, we rely on a qualitative approach and performed ten interviews to different actors in the field to examine the adoption of an innovative online hospitality data intelligence platform, called HBenchmark, and how it can promote the development of the tourist destination of Livigno and its territory Valtellina. Our findings point to two main dimensions, related to both the benefits and challenges in the development of smart destinations, and offer contributions to literature about digital transformation and smart destinations while providing implications for public actors and managers
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Stimulation-related intraoperative seizures during awake surgery: a review of available evidences
Awake surgery is a well-defined procedure with a very low morbidity. In particular, stimulation-related intraoperative seizure (IOS) is a commonly discussed and serious complication associated with awake surgery. Here, we reviewed the literature on awake surgery and IOS and sought to obtain evidences on the predictive factors of IOS and on the effect of IOS on postoperative outcomes. We conducted a comprehensive search of the Embase, MEDLINE, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases to identify potentially relevant articles from 2000 to 2019. We used combinations of the following search terms: “intraoperative seizure awake craniotomy,” “awake surgery seizures,” and pertinent associations; the search was restricted to publications in English and only to papers published in the last 20 years. The search returned 141 articles, including 39 papers that reported the IOS rate during awake craniotomy. The reported IOS rates ranged between 0 and 24% (mean, 7.7%). Only few studies have assessed the relationships between awake surgery and IOS, and hence, drawing clear conclusions is difficult. Nevertheless, IOS does not cause permanent and severe postoperative deficits, but can affect the patient’s status perioperatively and the hospitalization duration. Anterior tumor location is an important perioperative factor associated with high IOS risk, whereas having seizures at tumor diagnosis does not seem to influence. However, the role of antiepileptic drug administration and prophylaxis remains unclear. In conclusion, given the difficulty in identifying predictors of IOS, we believe that prompt action at onset and awareness of appropriate management methods are vital
The metaverse: digital innovation in the fashion industry. A systematic literature review
he growing interest in the metaverse is continuously increasing in recent years and involves many
economic sectors. Primarily the fashion sector has long understood the potential of digital platforms and
the advantages of being present in the main online gaming ones. Many fashion brands have entered
meaningful partnerships with video game companies in recent years, "dressing" the avatars with their
clothing. Regarding the metaverse, the fashion sector has taken up the challenge by creating the first
Metaverse Fashion Week. After New York, Milan, and Paris, the fashion houses have landed on the
Decentraland platform for a week of all-digital fashion shows and events.
This work aims to do a systematic literature review to explore state-of-the-art relating to the digital
innovation of fashion in the metaverse, in both business and social relations dimensions, on virtual gaming
platforms and not strictly to find future research fields
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
