Developments in Predistortion and Feedforward Adaptive Power Amplifier Linearisers
Key issues in predistortion and feedforward
linearisation solutions for future complex PA systems
destined for a wide range of evolving advanced wireless
systems are reviewed in this paper. In particular, digital
techniques and adaptive schemes are discussed
Behavioral modeling and digital predistortion for the linearization of a mm-wave Power Amplifier
The use of Digital Predistortion (DPD) for linearizing a millimeter-wave
Power Amplifier (PA) is investigated. A PA operating at 38 GHz is designed using an accurate nonquasi-static transistor model taking into account both short- and long-term memory effects. A realistic test signal is then used for the identification of a Nonlinear Auto-Regressive Moving Average (NARMA) behavioral model of the PA. The NARMA-based digital predistorter is then derived and formulated in terms of Basic Predistortion Cells, especially suitable for efficient implementation in an FPGA. The performance of the predistortion solution is preliminarily assessed by means of computer
simulations
An Investigation of the Maya Vault: Methodology and Cultural Significance
A partir
maya.[EN] This paper presents the methodology and the main results of a recently conducted research about the vault in Maya architecture. The study examined this archetypal element by recording data from a wide sample of 391 vaults from different geographical zones and chronological periods. The data collected during fieldwork were complemented by results from previous studies and put into the Maya Vault Database, a new system created to archive, analyze and compare all the features of the vaults. The sample was then analysed from an architectural perspective, taking into account aspects such as form, geometry, function and constructive features of the vaulted spaces, and paying special attention to the conservation state and the mechanisms of decay affecting this type of structures. Based on this analysis, a general classification of the Maya vault according to various criteria was proposed, which provides an efficient tool to register and document Maya vaults. The comparative study of the sample allowed to identify the particularities and the most characteristic features of the vault regional variants, as well as to study their development over time, which reveals results of great interest for cultural history. This work was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities by the

Duals of variable exponent Hörmander spaces (0 < p− ≤ p+ ≤ 1) and some applications
[EN] In this paper we characterize the dual (Bc
p(·) (Ω))′ of the variable exponent Hör-
mander space Bc
p(·) (Ω) when the exponent p(·) satisfies the conditions 0 < p− ≤ p+ ≤ 1,
the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator M is bounded on L p(·)/ p0 for some 0 < p0 < p−
and Ω is an open set in Rn . It is shown that the dual (Bc
p(·) (Ω))′ is isomorphic to the Hörmander
space Bloc
∞ (Ω) (this is the p+ ≤ 1 counterpart of the isomorphism (Bc
p(·) (Ω))′ Ω Bloc
˜p′(·) (Ω),
1 < p− ≤ p+ < ∞, recently proved by the authors) and hence the representation theorem(Bc
p(·) (Ω))′ Ω lN
∞ is obtained. Our proof relies heavily on the properties of the Banach
envelopes of the steps of Bc
p(·) (Ω) and on the extrapolation theorems in the variable Lebesgue
spaces of entire analytic functions obtained in a precedent paper. Other results for p(·) ≡ p,
0 < p < 1, are also given (e.g. Bc
p(Ω) does not contain any infinite-dimensional q-Banach
subspace with p < q ≤ 1 or the quasi-Banach space Bp ∩ E′(Q) contains a copy of l p when
Q is a cube in Rn ). Finally, a question on complex interpolation (in the sense of Kalton) of
variable exponent Hörmander spaces is proposedJ. Motos is partially supported by grant MTM2011-23164 from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. The authors wish to thank the referees for the careful reading of the manuscript and for many helpful suggestions and remarks that improved the exposition. In particular, the remark immediately following Theorem 2.1 and the Question 2 were motivated by the comments of one of them.Motos Izquierdo, J.; Planells Gilabert, MJ.; Talavera Usano, CF. (2015).
In Sardinia, hypogea were dug with increasing frequency in the 4th millennium BC, especially in the
north-western part of the island. The S’Elighe Entosu necropolis is composed of eight hypogea dug between
the Final Neolithic and the Bronze Age. Maria Grazia Melis and her team are currently studying this site.
Their research addresses various topics, including the positioning of the necropolis on the landscape, the
architecture of the tombs and the diverse phases of related human activity. The architectural data was
recently updated through a study of the excavation techniques employed to create the monuments. This
new information has been fundamental to understanding the articulation of human presence at the site
and the history of the various modifications made to the hypogea. The study of the excavation is based on
analysis of the tool marks on the monument walls and of the tools found in Tomb IV. Experimentation has
played an important role in this work. This research has led to the creation of a database of tool-marks, the
study of picks and the experimental reproduction of this type of tool.
