    Blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic white rats administered various preparations of bay leaves

    Elevated blood glucose levels, known as Hyperglycemia, are a key feature of diabetes mellitus (DM), which remains a primary global health challenge. The rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes and the side effects of synthetic drugs have led to interest in natural alternatives. Bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum), commonly used in Indonesian cuisine, contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and terpenoids that may have antidiabetic properties. This study examined the effect of bay leaves preparations—decoction, tea, and filtrate—on blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic white rats and identified the most effective form. A proper experimental design involved 25 male rats, divided into five groups: a negative control, a positive control (alloxan only), and three treatment groups (decoction, tea, and filtrate). Hyperglycemia was induced using alloxan (150 mg/kg BW), and treatments were given orally twice daily for 30 days. Blood glucose levels were measured before and after treatment using a GlucoDr glucometer. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and the LSD test (α = 0.05). Significant differences were observed among groups (Fhit = 16.61 > Ftab = 2.87). The decoction group had the most considerable glucose reduction (112.4 mg/dL), closely followed by the negative control (118 mg/dL), while the tea and filtrate groups showed lesser effects. Decoction proved most effective, likely due to better compound extraction. These findings highlight the potential of bay leaves decoction as a natural remedy for hyperglycemia, warranting further clinical research

    Kegiatan pengabdian terkait dengan ramuan Madura, yang berorientasi pada terciptanya kemandirian masyarakat, sebagai hasil introduksi pengetahuan dan teknoligi tepat guna (TTG) sangat diperlukan. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi pemanfaatan teknologi tepat guna berbasis solar cell untuk mengatasi permasalahan IRT Ramuan Madura di Kabupaten Sumenep. Mitra PPTTG ini, yaitu Kelompok Ramuan Madura “Gilang Emas Group” dan Kelompok Ramuan Madura “Maju Jaya”. Instrumen kegiatan meliputi materi presentasi, produk, alat dokumentasi, buku catatan, dan instrumen evaluasi. Metode pengabdian adalah survey, demonstrasi, dan praktek langsung, dan evaluasi. Data dikumpulkan dengan terlibat langsung dalam aktivitas mitra. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Kegiatan dianggap berhasil bila mitra mahir menggunakan TTG, keterlibatan dan keaktifan mitra ≥75%, ada peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas produk, serta ada peningkatan omzet. Berbagai kegiatan dilakukan pengabdi, yaitu koordinasi dan konsolidasi tim, serta penyamaan persepsi dengan mitra, pendesainan, penyiapan, dan pembuatan, penyerahan TTG, pelatihan, dan pemanfaatan TTG oleh mitra, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Dpat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian telah dilaksanakan dengan sangat baik, sesuai dengan target yang telah ditetapkan

    Budidaya rumput laut di Kepulauan Sapeken Kabupaten Sumenep sangat potensial untu dilakukan, namun pada kenyataannya para nelayan/petani masih mengalami banyak kendala, sehingga aktivitas tersebut belum memiliki kontribusi bagi peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Tim telah melakukan kegiatan pengabdian di Kepulauan Sapeken Kabupaten Sumenep, sehingga artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi pendampingan masyarakat dalam budidaya rumput laut di daerah tersebut. Subjek dalam pengabdian adalah 2 kelompok tani rumput laut (masing-masing terdiri atas 10 orang pembudidaya). Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan selama delapan bulan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah survey, demonstrasi, dan praktek langusng, dan evaluasi. Keterlaksanaan atau keberhasilan pengabdian didasarkan pada terpenuhinya indikator-indikator proses pengabdian dan produk yang dihasilkan dalam pengabdian, Kegiatan pengabdian dievaluasi dalam hal proses dan akhir kegiatan. Kegiatan pengabdian dianggap telah berhasil bila persentase keterlibatan dan keaktifan masyarakat mencapai ≥75%, masyarakat mampu melakukan budidaya. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat mitra sangat antusias terlibat, 100% terlibat dalam budidaya, da nada peningkatan produksi budidaya rumput laut. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengabdian masyarakat telah diimplementasikan sesuai dengan rencana

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus) are commonly utilized as a feed that contains lot of proteins needed by poultry, such as aves, fish, and shrimps. The effort of improving earthworms' (Lumbricus rubellus) harvesting, in fact, is affected by the soar of the feed’s price as well. Earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) breeders must be more innovative in finding the alternative food for the earthworms.This research employed Completely Randomized Design design through four treatments and two repetitions. In addition, the sample constituted the 640 ciliated earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus) by using randomized sampling technique. This research revealed that providing baglog waste feed of white oyster-mushrooms, the chickens’ feces, and the combination of the two gave a significantly highest effect (based on sig.<0,05) upon the cocoon’s growth and production of the earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus) in treatment A3B3 (10 cm), the heaviest mass of the earthworms was in treatment A3B3 (4.00 grams), and the highest production of cocoon was in treatment A3B3 (64.5 items). There was an effect of providing baglog waste feed of white oyster-mushrooms, the chickens’ feces, and the combination of the two upon the growth and the production of the earthworms’ cocoon. Further, the result of this research could be used as the resource of Biology instruction due to the appropriateness and the qualification that met the six vital aspects; they were: (1) potential clearance; (2) appropriateness to instructional goals; (3) target consideration; (4) informational clearance; (5) exploration clearance; and (6) acquisition clearence

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar muatan IPS pada materi Keragaman Sumber Daya Alam pada siswa kelas IV-A SDN Ngaglik 01, Kota Batu menggunakan model Student Facilitator and Explaining. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitiannya adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, dimana tiap siklus memiliki 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu kelas IV-A SDN Ngaglik 01 Batu yang berjumlah 29 siswa. Data yang didapatkan berupa hasil belajar siswa pada muatan IPS materi Keragaman Sumber Daya Alam di Tema 6. Penelitian ini menunjukkan Student Facilitator and Explaining meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dari tahap pratindakan dengan rata-rata hasil belajar sebesar 61.24 , pada siklus 1 sebesar 70.17 dan siklus 2 menjadi 81.72. Prosentase ketuntasan belajar pada pratindakan sebesar 48% , pada siklus 1 sebesar 55,2 % dan siklus 2 menjadi 82.8%

Metode yang digunakan dalam mata pelajaran biologi masih menggunakan metode ceramah dan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir siswa disebabkan karena pembelajaran biologi selama ini cenderung hanya mengasah aspek mengingat dan memahami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh pembelajaranberbasis Scientific Approach terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Variabel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari pembelajaran berbasis Scientific Approach sebagai variabel independent, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebagai variabel dependent. Metode pengambilan data yaitu dengan menggunakan metode tes tertulis berupa soal uraian untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis sesuai dengan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Validitas instrumen ini menggunakan pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas butir soal dengan pengujian tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda soal. Teknik analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan analisis uji t-test pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis Scientific Approach memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Panjura Malang yang dibuktikan dengan hasil menggunakan uji statistika yaitu uji t. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan pembelajaran berbasis Scientific Approach bisa digunakan dalam pembelajaran karena dapat memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir siswa

    Building pro-environmental behavior among school community of Adiwiyata green school

    Efforts to build pro-environment behavior have been strengthened by the Ministry ofEnvironment and Forestry through Adiwiyata green school program. This current studyaimed at describing the patterns of building pro-environmental behavior among schoolcommunity of Adiwiyata green school in Malang City. This study was conducted bymeans of descriptive design. The data were collected using in-depth interview, directedobservation, and documentation as well as triangulation. The data were analyzeddescriptively by means of content analysis. Hereafter, this study has shown that SMAN7 Malang was and is running a program of pro-environmental behavior building offeredto all school community, to enhance the knowledge, to fossilize the behavior, and toimplement pro-environmental behavior, with the concrete support from the schoolmanagement and teachers. The program was run sustainably and supported byeducation authorities along with pro-environmental communities. To sum up, thepatterns of building pro-environmental behavior involved all the school community, tocover such aspects as knowledge enhancement, behavior fossilizing, and proenvironmentalbehavior reinforcement through a sustainable collaboration with proenvironmentalcommunities. Therefore, it is suggested that Adiwiyata green schoolkeep intensifying its commitment and be consistent in building sustainable proenvironmentalbehaviortoamplifyalong-termmemoryofitsschoolcommunity
