Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Studi Analisis Butir Soal Latihan Buku Ajar Bahasa Arab Madrasah Tsanawiyah
Full text linkTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk, kualitas, dan validitas teoritis, serta kaidah penyusunan bahasasetiap butir soal latihan buku ajarbahasa Arab Madrasah Tsanawiyah agar diperoleh soal yang bermutu sebelum soal digunakan.Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber primer yang digunakan buku ajar bahasa Arab Madrasah Tsanawiyah yang sesuai dengan permenag No.2 tahun 2008, sedangkan sumber sekunder berupa buku-buku evaluasi, dan kisi-kisi soal. Analisis data terhadap butir soal diteliti untuk mengetahui bentuk, kualitas penyusunan, dan bahasa soal. Untuk mengetahui kualitas soal di lihat dari validitas teoritis, menggunakan kriteria; 1) kesesuaian soal dengan kompetensi dasar dan indikator; 2)kesesuaian soal dengan materi yang diujikan; 3) kesesuaian isi materi dengan jenjang, jenis sekolah dan tingkat kelas; 4) kesesuaian isi materi yang ditanyakan dengan perkembangan peserta didik; 5) kesesuaian isi materi dengan tujuan tes. Adapun hasil temuan pada penelitian ini adalah; 1) bentuk-bentuk soal latihan dalam buku ajar bahasa Arab Madrasah Tsanawiyah berbentuk: pilihan ganda, menjodohkan, jawab singkat, uraian yang berbentuk menerjemahkan dan menyusun kalimat; 2) kualitas soal latihan dilihat dari validitas teoritis tergolong sangat baik, karena prosentasenya telah memenuhi kriteria di atas 85%; 3) kualitas soal latihan dilihat dari penyusunan soal dan bahasa berdasarkan kesesuaian dengan kriteria penyusunan soal dan bahasa pada pada berbagai buku ajar tergolong baik dan memenuhi kritera karena prosentase terkecil 66,66%.

Reconstruction of Al-Qur'an Study Material in the Teaching Book of Al-Qur'an Hadis at the Madrasah Aliyah Level
Full text linkThis study aims to determine the limitations and direction of developing subject matter in textbooks used by educators in contextualizing teaching materials with the reality faced by students, as a solution to enrich the knowledge of the material that has been presented in textbooks. The principles that are used as the basis in developing the teaching material of the Koran are conformity, constancy, and adequacy. This study utilizes text sources to obtain descriptive exploratory research data. The primary source used is the al-Qur'an textbook of Hadith written by Lilis Fauziah and Andi Setiawan. Research results obtained; 1) The distribution of material in class X seems to have been coherent and gradual although there are still overlaps in the material as in KD 2 and KD 3, and in class XI and XII the material is delivered only by theme, so that it does not seem coherent and is only a theme selection; 2) The material taught is in accordance with the psychological of students and has been able to read the phenomena around it. But there is material that needs to be developed so that it makes more use of logic in thinking than just memorizing theory; 3) In terms of application of learning the cognitive level of learning has touched, but the affective and psychomotor sides have not; 4) discussion about differences of opinion among scholars is not discussed thoroughly, potentially confusing students. Error in preparing multiple choice questions and answers. Forms of development reconstruction offered by researchers include; 1) In terms of suitability (relevance) Subject with SK and KD; 2) in terms of consistency of learning material; 3) in terms of the adequacy of the material presented; 4) and in terms of the consequences of developing subject matter
Kepuasan Pekerja Di PT. Jatinom Indah Farm Kecamatan Kanigoro Kabupaten Blitar
Full text linkKepuasan kerja secara umum diartikan sebagai kepuasan masing-masing individu atau karyawan tentang pekerjaan dari segi upah, tugas, tempat kerja dan juga hubungan antara sesama karyawan. Kepuasan pekerja memiliki manfaat positif bagi pekerja maupun lembaga atau perusahaan. Bagi karyawan kepuasan kerja akan menimbulkan rasa senang dan kenyamanan dalam bekerja, sedangkan pada perusahaan kepuasan kerja adalah salah satu usaha dalam peningkatan produksi, perbaikan sikap, dan tingkah laku karyawan. Maka dari itu perusahaan perlu untuk memperhatikan kepuasan pekerja yang ada didalamnya. Dari hal tersebut maka perlu didalami informasi mengenai faktor- faktor yang mendasari alasan pekerja memilih bekerja di PT. Jatinom Indah Farm, bagaimana kepuasan kerja terhadap hak-hak yang didapatkan sehingga mereka merasa aman dan mendapat kejelasan seperti upah dan jaminan sosial pekerja.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Mengetahui alasan pekerja memilih bekerja di PT.Jatinom Indah Farm. (2) Mengetahui kepuasan kerja karyawan di PT.Jatinom Indah Farm. Tingkat kepuasan kerja yang meliputi berbagai faktor seperti kompensasi kerja, lingkungan kerja, dan beban kerja,
dan dapat dijadikan referensi bagi perusahaan untuk meningkatkan tingkat kepuasan kerja karyawan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, alasan menggunakan metode kualitatif agar data yang didapat lebih lengkap, mendalam, kredibel, dan bermakna sehingga tujuan dari penelitian dapat dicapai. Teknik pengambilan sampel sumber data kualitatif bersifat purposive sampling dan snowball sampling dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam (indepth interview) dengan informan sebanyak 15 orang. Analisis data yang dilakukan analisis secara deskriptif.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya beberapa alasan yang diungkapkan pekerja untuk memilih bekerja di PT.Jatinom Indah Farm seperti untuk meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga, jarak tempat tinggal dan tempat bekerja yang tidak terlalu jauh, lingkungan perusahaan yang agamis dan sebagainya. Berdirinya PT.Jatinom Indah Farm memberikan dampak positif terhadap penyerapan kerja di masyarakat sekitar dan meningkatkan perekonomian di wilayah tersebut. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat kepuasan kerja para pekerja seperti kompensasi, lingkungan kerja, dan beban kerja. Para pekerja memperoleh kepastian pemberian gaji/upah dari perusahaan. Selain pemberian gaji/upah, pekerja juga mendapat jaminan sosial dan jaminan ketenagakerjaan serta promosi kenaikan jabatan sesuai dengan kompetensi dan keahlian serta pencapaian penyelesaian tanggung jawab terhadap pekerjannya.
Pada lingkungan kerja, perusahaan memberikan berbagai fasilitas kerja kepada para pekerja untuk menunjang proses operasianal produksi. Fasilitas yang diberikan berupa perlengkapan kerja, perlengkapan kebersihan, MCK, tempat ibadah dan istirahat yang baik, dan sebagainya. Pekerja juga merasa nyaman dengan adanya hubungan sosial yang baik antara atasan dengan bawahan/pekerja maupun hubungan antara sesame pekerja. Beban kerja yang dibebankan kepada
pekerja berdasarkan dari kemampuan dan kompetensi pekerja. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan dan kompetensi pekerja meliputi, kondisi fisik, jenis kelamin, pendidikan, dan adanya pelatihan kerja.
Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu PT. Jatinom Indah Farm merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang sub sektor peternakan yang terletak di Kecamatan Kanigoro Kabupaten Blitar. Para pekerja yang memilih bekerja di PT. Jatinom Indah Farm meiliki alasan yang beragam, seperti karena Perusahaan tersebut merupakan perusahaan lokal, tempat bekerja yang dekat dengan tempat tinggal, lingkungan perusahaan yang lebih agamis, tingkat sosial yang tinggi dan menghargai pekerja sampai tingkat bawah. Para pekerja memiliki tingkat kepuasan yang baik dengan dibuktikan dari tingginya masa kerja dan loyalitas para pekerja. Pemberian kompensasi meliputi kompensasi finansial dan non finansial.
Setiap pekerja memperoleh hak jaminan sosial dan jaminan ketenagakerjaan serta pelatihan kerja dari perusahaan. Pekerja yang mempunyai ketrampilan dan kompetensi serta tanggung jawab yang baik terhadap tugas kerja akan mendapatkan promosi kenaikan jabatan. Pemberian tanggung jawab akan tugas yang diberikan mengacu pada kemampuan dari setiap pekerja, kemampuan tersebut berdasarkan pada usia, jenis kelamin, kondisi fisik, dan pendidikan setiap pekerja. Para pekerja menunjukkan rasa nyaman melakukan pekerjaan di PT. Jatinom Indah Farm yang ditunjukkan dari rasa puas akan adanya fasilitas yang mereka terima untuk menunjang kinerja, serta ditunjukkan dari tingkat sosial antara sesama pekerja dan hubungan antara atasan dan pekerja lapang yang baik
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
