Einführung: Migration als Herausforderung für Europa
Full text linkDieses Buch behandelt die Arbeitsmigration aus Polen nach Deutschland nach der EU-Osterweiterung im Mai 2004. Einzelne Beiträge befassen sich mit der neuen rechtlichen Lage und der damit verbundenen Verschiebung der Wanderungsströme in Richtung der Länder, die ihre Arbeitsmärkte öffneten. Des Weiteren widmen sich die Autoren den unterschiedlichen Migrantengruppen und diskutieren die Struktur und die Formen der neuen Migration sowie die Rolle der Migrationsnetzwerke. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf den transnationalen Praktiken der Migranten und ihrer sozialen Positionierung. Im Anschluss werden die Folgen der Arbeitswanderung in einem offenen europäischen Raum sowie die Herausforderungen der transnationalen Migration für das Verständnis der sozialen Integration in Europa erörtert.Peer Reviewe
Selbstständigkeit und Firmengründung – zur neuen sozialen Lage der polnischen Migranten in Deutschland
Full text linkMit der EU-Osterweiterung wurde besonders in Deutschland große Angst vor einer Migrationswelle billiger Arbeitskräfte verbunden, die sinkende Löhne mit sich bringt. Als Antwort auf diese Prognosen führte die deutsche Regierung (ähnlich wie die Mehrheit der EU15) Übergangsregelungen ein, die den deutschen Arbeitsmarkt schützen sollen. Im Sinne der „2+3+2“-Regel wurde der freie Zugang zum deutschen Arbeitsmarkt für die neuen EU-Bürger vorerst eingeschränkt. Da der Beitrittsvertrag eine Verschlechterung der bisherigen rechtlichen Regelungen verbietet, wurde der bisherige Status auf weiteres beibehalten: für abhängige Beschäftigungsverhältnisse gelten nach wie vor die bilateralen Abkommen und Verträge. Dank der Niederlassungsfreiheit können die neuen EU-Bürger allerdings selbstständige Tätigkeiten ausüben und eigene Unternehmen gründen.Peer Reviewe

No full textThe paper presents the concept of “a voice from outside” — a specific discursive position of an author and their work which is constructed in a process of defining the social distances between an author and a public discourse. The category of a voice from outside derives from the tradition of social constructionism, Foucaultian approaches to discourse and the responsive phenomenology of „a stranger” by Bernhard Waldenfels. In this paper, the concept of the voice from outside is introduced on the basis of a case study of Oriana Fallaci, a journalist, and author of a controversial essay The Rage and the Pride. The discourse analysis covers the press articles published in Polish mainstream daily and weekly newspapers in 2001–2006 and discusses three major types representations of Fallaci’s text in the public discourse in Poland, as: (1) the voice of “a guilty” conscience, (2) a “politically incorrect” voice of Western elites and (3) an anti-voice

the case of Jonathan Littell, the author of best‑selling novel “The Kindly Ones”, and his
mediated presence in public discourses in France and in Germany. Representations of the
author are based on the construction of his biography, especially his ethnicity. The method,
which served to study this phenomenon, is discourse analysis complemented by dispositive
analysis. Dispositive (heterogeneous ensemble which links discursive and non‑discursive
practices) is a concept proposed by Michel Foucault, recently earning new applications in
public sphere studies
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
