“I think I am a Medium”: The Persona Hermes Phettberg as an Inter-Media Event
“I think I am a Medium”: The Persona Hermes Phettberg as an Inter-Media Event: The second focus contribution on ‘Viennese Pulp’, too, explores the genesis of a persona: Helmut Neundlinger describes the birth of Hermes Phettberg from the biographical wreckage of the office clerk Josef Fenz. Beholden to a ‘theatre of the third kind’, ‘pulp’ and ‘trash’ came in with a vengeance. It is particularly worthwhile here to look at the aspect of intermediality: the relations between the individual levels of Phettberg’s production interact in different presentation formats. The second focus contribution on \u27Viennese Pulp\u27, too, explores the genesis of a persona: Helmut Neundlinger describes the birth of Hermes Phettberg from the biographical wreckage of the office clerk Josef Fenz. Litteratur, utstilling og kommunikasjon: en samtale
Informed by her competence in literature and the theory and practice of exhibitions, Heike Gfrereis is Head of the Museum Department at the Archive of German Literature in Marbach, and curator of many literary exhibitions. Helmut Neundlinger, curator of the W. H. Auden Memorial Museum in Kirchstetten, is a writer, researcher and critic working at the Center for Museum Collections Management at the Danube University Krems and the literary collection of Lower Austria. The following “exchange of knowledge” between them and two researchers in the TRAUM– Transforming Author Museums project took place in Oslo in 2019. We discuss the desire to exhibit literature and not only biography, how one can free oneself from objects and how objects can create freedom, how to unlearn received notions of literature, the importance of interaction and play, what can make authors difficult to exhibit, and the economic realities of exhibiting literature.Informed by her competence in literature and the theory and practice of exhibitions, Heike Gfrereis is Head of the Museum Department at the Archive of German Literature in Marbach, and curator of many literary exhibitions. From Helmut Jürgensen’s former students: The game of informatics
Personal reflections are given on being students of Helmut Jürgensen. Then, we attempt
to address his hypothesis that informatics follows trend-like behaviours through the
use of a content analysis of university job advertisements, and then via simulation
techniques from the area of quantitative economics
