Ghayat al-amani and the life and times of al-Hadi Yahya b. al-Husayn: an introduction, newly edited text and translation with detailed annotation
The thesis is anchored upon a text extracted from an important 11th / 17th century Yemeni historical work. This text deals primarily with al-Hādī ilā 'I-Haqq, the founder of the Zaydī Imamate in the Yemen that lasted well over a thousand years. AI-Hādīs imamate, of considerable significance in itself, also coincides with one of the most turbulent periods of early Yemeni mediaeval history. The- edited Arabic text, with its accompanying apparatus criticus. Is to be found at the opposite end of this volume. The Introduction considers various aspects of Imam al-Hadī’s life, religious ideas and aspirations and matters directly connected with the edited text and the work of which it forms a part. Among the most important subjects discussed are the MSS used in the production of the edited text, the problem concerning the authorship of Ghāyat al-amānī and the relationship of the latter work to Anbā' al-zaman. A short biography of al-Hādī is provided, together with a treatment of the historical background to ai-Hādīs imamate. The introduction also describes the editorial method followed with regard to the text, and certain key personal names and toponyms are dealt with there. The method employed by the author of the Ghāyat is to record the events of any one year by Itself. I have translated one year at a time and then followed it by the annotations appertaining to it. It is hoped that by means of these annotations. (some of which through necessity are quite detailed ), the text will be better understood. The numerous personages, tribal names and toponyms are considered, as well as problems concerning points of chronology and various matters of historical and religious significance. Specific comment is made upon certain interesting terms or any unusual or striking vocabulary. The thesis concludes with maps, genealogical tables and a comprehensive bibliography
Pacing to treat low cardiac output syndrome following elective aortic valve replacement
We report a case of low cardiac output syndrome caused by dynamic left ventricular (LV) outflow obstruction after aortic valve replacement (AVR). This recognized phenomenon probably occurs more frequently than appreciated, and the author suggests that this should be considered when managing patients with severe hemodynamic instability after AVR. In addition, we also focus on the fact that invasive pacemaker systems have significant effects on cardiac output augmentation postoperatively and in long-term management of patients with LV outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction following AVR. The possible mechanisms and subsequent treatments are discussed
Experiences of Outpatient Clinics and Opinions of Telehealth by Caucasian and South Asian Patients’ With Celiac Disease
utpatient clinics are an important part of chronic disease management, including that of celiac disease. During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) global pandemic, telephone and online video consultations with health care professionals have substantially increased. This study aimed to explore the experience and opinions of adults, with celiac disease, toward face-to-face clinic appointments and alternatives, such as telehealth. Semistructured qualitative interviews with 37 patients were undertaken (75% White Caucasians, 25% South Asians; 29 patients were not adhering to the gluten-free diet). Interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed by NVivo. Frequently reported issues with face-to-face appointments included travel and car parking costs, needing to take time off work, and frequent changes to appointment time. In addition, South Asian patients highlighted issues with linguistics barriers. Telephone consultations were considered acceptable and practical by the majority of patients based on ease and convenience. Online video consultations were favored by just 9 patients, however it is acknowledged that since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a greater exposure to this type of technology. These patient experiences can inform health care service development and are not biased by external health concerns connected with in-person visits during the pandemic.© 2021 H. Muhammad, S. Local Historiography in Early Medieval Iran and the <i>Tārīkh-i Bayhaq</i>
During the medieval period iran produced one of the richest repertoires of local histories in the Islamic world. Ibn Funduq, the author of the local history of Bayhaq studied here, enumerates 15 local histories of Khurasan alone. These include three local histories of Marv by al-ᶜAbbas b. Musᶜab b. Bishr, Abu'l-Hasan Ahmad b. Sayyar (198-268/814-881), and Abu'l-ᶜAbbas b. Saᶜid al-Maᶜdani (d. 375/986). (al-Sakhawi calls Musᶜab b. Bishr's work a “history of (the city).“) To these Ibn Funduq adds two local histories of Herat by Abu Ishaq Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yunis (?) al-Bazzaz and Abu Ishaq Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Saᶜid al-Haddad. (Sakhawi, apparently confused, attributes both histories to Abu Ishaq Muhammad b. Yasin al-Harawi al-Haddad); a Tārīkh-i Bukhārā va Samarqand by Saᶜd b. Janah; two histories of Khwarazm by al-Sari b. Dalwiya and Abu ᶜAbdallah Muhammad b. Saᶜid respectively; a history of Balkh by Abu ᶜAbdallah Muhammad b. ᶜAqil al-Faqih;</jats:p
Mada'in Salih, a Nabataean town in north west Arabia: analysis and interpretation of the excavation 1986-1990
This research concerns Mada'in Salih, an archaeological site in north-west Saudi Arabia. Historically, it was part of the Nabataean kingdom which flourished in northwest Arabia (Jordan, parts of Syria, Palestine and some parts of Saudi Arabia), with Petra in Jordan as its capital. The Nabataeans were famous for their trading role, as they transported frankincense and myrrh and exported balsam and bitumen. They built monumental tombs in Petra and Mada'in Salih as well as other public buildings such as temples theatres and baths. They were also famous for their skills in hydraulic engineering and the production of very thin, distinctively painted pottery. Mada'in Salih was an important station on the trade route which linked south Arabia with Mediterranean countries. The main feature of the site is the monumental tombs, which are about eighty in number, some of them dated and bearing inscriptions. Those inscriptions are in Aramaic and usually contain information about the owner name, legal rights, and occasionally the mason's name. Little was known about the site's history and other aspects such as the economy, culture, society and religions prior to the excavation. Various questions were raised which the thesis attempts to address. The archaeological work conducted on the site included a survey, several trenches around the town wall and in front of some of the tombs as well as an excavation in the settlement area. The excavation revealed a private house which furnished us with information regarding house planning, building techniques and materials. A large amount of pottery, small finds and coins were recovered, studied and classified. The results added some information to what was already known about the Nabataeans in general and Mada'in Salih in particular. The site had witnessed its peak during the first century A.D. As most previous archaeological work had been carried out in the northern parts of the Nabataean kingdom, the results of this excavation are important for comparative studies between this, the largest Nabataean settlement centre in the south, to the centres of the north. The trade which had been an important factor in the establishment of the site declined when the trade route was shifted from land to sea by the Romans during the last half of the first century A.D

فری لانسنگ : شریعہ وقانون کے تناظر میں تجزیاتی مطالعہ
Abstract:
Freelancing has become an increasingly popular means of employment globally, and its importance continues to grow in Pakistan. From an Islamic legal perspective, freelancing is categorized under Ijarah, a contractual agreement where an individual provides services in return for a specified fee. For freelancing to be valid under Islamic law, all conditions of Ijara must be met, including a clear contract, specified remuneration, and defined scope of work. In cases where these conditions are satisfied, freelancing is permissible. Freelance platforms, such as Upwork and Fiverr, function as intermediaries or brokers, connecting freelancers with clients. These platforms charge a commission or service fee for facilitating transactions, which is akin to the role of a dallal (broker) in Islamic commercial law.
In Pakistan, the taxation of freelancers remains a significant issue. Despite the growing number of freelancers, there is no specific tax policy for them. However, freelancers who are registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) are required to pay 0.25% income tax. Freelancers who are not PSEB-registered are subject to a 1% tax on their income. Additionally, the use of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and payment gateways remains a critical concern, with no clear solution in place for secure transactions. The lack of a structured tax framework and regulatory oversight presents challenges for the freelance industry in Pakistan. In light of Islamic commercial principles and evolving tax policies, it is crucial to develop a framework that ensures fair treatment, transparency, and sustainability for freelancers in the country.
The purpose of this research is to inform people about the permissibility of earning money through freelancing from both an Islamic and legal perspective. It will address whether freelancing is allowed under Sharia law, the applicable taxes on freelancing income, and the legal regulations governing it.
Al-Qasas al-Nabawi dalam karya Abū Isḥāq al-Huwaynī dan ‘Umar Sulaymān al-Ashqar: kajian perbandingan = Al-Qasas al-Nabawi in the works of Ab Isq al-Ḥuwayn and Umar Sulaymn al-Ashqar: A comparative study)
The hadiths ofRasulullah SAW have various contents, including the stories narrated by the Prophet SAW. These hadiths are known as al-Qasas al-Nabawi. The approach to conveying the story is one of the uniqueness of the Prophet SAW in conveying knowledge and education. This study aims to examine the method of writing the works of al-Qasas al-Nabawi, which are compiled by modern writers and not presented thematically in major hadith works such as Kutub al-Sittah or Kutub al-Tisah. Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini and Umar Sulayman al-Asyqar are among the modern writers who have compiled these hadiths relating to al-Qasas al-Nabawi in their works. However, there are differences in the method of compilation and presentation of this hadith by the two authors, although authentic hadith were used as the basis of the study. The methodology of this study uses a qualitative study design with the method of content analysis on the work of al-Qasas al-Nabawi by Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini and Umar Sulayman al-Asyqar. The results of the study found that these two scriptures use the same method in selecting only the authentic hadith related to al-Qasas al-Nabawi, but have different methods in other aspects. The different methods used by the two authors include the choice of topics included in the hadith, the number of hadiths discussed, and the approach to presenting the teachings at the end of each hadith. In addition, the work of al-Qasas al-Nabawi by Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini is more concise and not suitable as a reference work for the public, as the author notes in the foreword to this book. The work of al-Qasas al-Nabawi by Umar Sulayman al-Asyqar is more systematic and useful as a guide for the public to understand the authentic hadith in the category of al-Qasas al-Nabawi. امام ابو داؤد ؒ کا سنن ابوداؤد میں صحیح بخاری کے تراجم ابواب سے اخذ و استفادہ؛ تجزیاتی مطالعہ
Hadith is an important source of Shari'ah, which was collected and edited through different stages and methods and many books were written. Among these books of hadith, Sahih Sita has a special importance and then among the six books of Ahadith, Sunan Abu Dawud because of its special method. It is of particular importance, especially because of Imam Abu Dawud's own terms, the authors of these books made good use of each other's styles and methods, especially with reference to the chapters. made good use of the written sources of, there are many examples of this in Kitab al-Tafseer. Abu Ubayd Qasim bin Salam's book Al-Imwtta quoted sayings and used al-Muta Imam Malik in writing. The author benefited from the written sources of Abd al-Zarzaq and his teachers, especially Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Ali bin Al-Madaini, Ishaq bin Rahawiya, Yahya bin Moin, and above all from the books of Imam Shafi'i, Muhammad bin Ishaq. And it is to be mentioned that even after him; the great hadiths used the methods and methods of Sahih Bukhari and developed this method, which gave a good answer to the deniers and the people of Isthiraq. It was oral. In this paper, it is clear from the principle of establishing chapters of Imam Abu Dawud that he considered the collection of muhaddiths before him and adopted their method in writing the documents and texts and Chapters. There is a continuing written tradition of the use of and the Muhaddith who came later benefited from the books of these imams, especially by deriving interpretations, hadiths, biographies and jurisprudential issues
Intellectual property laws and Islam in Malaysia.
PhDThis study is undertaken on the premise that Islam and Islamic law is to be taken into
serious consideration in any future legislative reform of laws in Malaysia. Islam being
the religion of the country and the strong religious sentiment of the Muslims (who
form the majority in Malaysia) cannot be overlooked or dismissed lightly by the
legislators in Malaysia. Reformation of intellectual property laws is timely, as we are
now approaching to the dateline set by GATF-Trips agreement which aim is to
improve our standard of intellectual property protection. This study seeks to analyze
and evaluate the current legislation pertaining to intellectual property in Malaysia in
terms of the philosophy and rules governing the existence, ownership and exercise of
these rights and their consistency and inconsistency with Islam and Islamic law. The
main objective of this study is to prove that a coherent and logical conceptual
framework of ownership of intellectual property can be derived from an Islamic
perspective which not only offers the basis of rights but also defines the scope of
these rights. From the point of ownership of rights, support can be obtained from the
normative framework of property rights within the traditional classification of 'mal'
(property) and 'haqq al-milkiyyah' (ownership rights) under Islamic law. From the
point of exercise of rights, the exact scope can be defined from the analysis of
fundamental concepts which have been developed by Muslim jurists. It has been
established that Islam and Islamic law offers a sound and systematic paradigm, which
in deeper analysis, can satisfy both our current obligations under international
treatises, as well as our responsibility to practise our religion to the fullest
