Neoliberalism and Homelessness: Analysis of Homeless People\u27s Stories of Their Situation
In my bachelor thesis, I am thinking about the connection between neoliberal policies and the stigma experienced by the homeless, starting from the foundations of (neo)liberalism. I set up a neoliberal framework within I later understand homeless people as a part of modern society. I also base my analysis on the psychological ideal of liberalism, which Beauvois described in 2000 in his work Traité de la servitude libérale. These include the individualization of responsibility for one\u27s actions and one\u27s starting point, as well as the internalization of these and other values, which the author defines as liberal, and which I myself bring into the neoliberal context. I present the internal value as a social norm. I further contextualize homelessness as a social phenomenon in time and space. I am thinking about the risk factors for the emergence of a homeless situation and the significant stigmatization that, according to Goffman, befalls a marginalized homeless person. On the example of short statements by homeless people in the newspaper Kralji ulice, I am thinking about how homeless people see themselves, how society view them and what influence this, the social self, has on their self-image

The aim of this study was to assess the contribution of service quality to the growth of banking services, a case of CRDB Bank Plc Branches in Mbeya city. The study was guided by one specific objective: to evaluate the contribution of service reliability on the growth of banking services. A mixed-methods research design was adopted. The study sample consisted of 114 respondents, including bank officials purposively selected from key departments and customers randomly sampled at the CRDB Bank Zonal office. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analysed using SPSS version 24.0 through descriptive and regression analysis, while qualitative data were analysed thematically. The findings revealed that reliability was a significant determinant of banking growth, with 73.2% of customers affirming accurate transaction completion and 67.6% perceiving uninterrupted services. Dependable information provision further strengthened customer confidence, though 39.5% of respondents reported occasional service downtimes, undermining reliability perceptions. Dependability during urgent needs was positively rated, with most customers confirming trust in CRDB’s ability to deliver during emergencies. Regression results confirmed that reliability strongly predicted banking growth (p < .001), emphasising its role in driving trust, loyalty, and service uptake. Conclusively, the study demonstrates that service reliability is central to CRDB’s growth strategy. Enhancing transaction accuracy, minimising downtimes, and improving dependability in urgent situations remain essential for sustaining customer satisfaction and competitive advantage in Tanzania’s banking sector

A sinfonia pastoral do Nordeste
The work A Sinfonia Pastoral do Nordeste, written by Juarez da Gama Batista, is a book that deserves to be highlighted in the literature of Paraíba. Published in 1967 by the Federal University, the work presents a critical and engaging narrative, exploring themes related to the culture and life in the Brazilian Northeast. The plot unfolds amidst the arid and poetic landscapes of the Northeast backlands, where the author weaves a literary symphony that combines elements of nature, popular culture and local traditions. Through remarkable characters and everyday situations, Juarez da Gama Batista takes us on a journey that reveals the nuances of life in the Northeast. The pastoral symphony, as its title suggests, is a literary composition that harmonizes the contrasts of the region: drought and hope, simplicity and complexity, joy and melancholy. The author uses poetic and sensitive language to portray the lives of the inhabitants, their beliefs, celebrations, struggles and dreams. In this context, the book also addresses social, political and economic issues, offering a critical and reflective view of the reality of the Northeast. Through characters such as the solitary cowboy, the talented lacemaker and the singer of verses, Juarez da Gama Batista constructs a literary symphony that echoes the voices and desires of the people of the Northeast. In short, The Pastoral Symphony of the Northeast is a work that transcends regionalism and becomes universal, touching the hearts of readers with its unique and profound melody. It is an invitation to delve into the cultural and human richness of this unique and inspiring region.

relacionados à cultura e à vida no Nordeste brasileiro.
complexidade, a alegria e a melancolia.
povo do Nordeste.
This article’s objective is to analyze the speeches produced by Lewis Mallen Bratcher, the National Missions Board, the Brazilian Baptist Convention, the results of a trip to the Amazon region in 1925 by the missionary to the Tocantins River Valley. Bratcher’s narrative on the region is analyzed in the theoretical perspective of Pierre Bourdieu on the religious field, according to the author, an abstract, eminently social space of production, reproduction, and consecration of arbitrary practices, associated to the Cultural History of Religions approach. In the words of the missionary, published in “O Jornal Batista”, one notices not only the evangelical religious worldview but the incorporation of conceptions of civilization in vogue during the first decades of the Republic in Brazil.O objetivo desse artigo é analisar os discursos produzidos por Lewis Mallen Bratcher, da Junta de Missões Nacionais (JMN), da Convenção Batista Brasileira (CBB), resultados de viagem realizada pelo missionário ao Vale do Rio Tocantins, na região amazônica, em 1925.
