The Validity and the Reliability Study of A Cyber Victimization/Bullying Scale For University Students
No full textResearch on Education and PsychologyThe main purpose of this study was to develop a cyber victimization/bullying scale for university students and to test the validity and reliability of the scale. In the first step of this study, the validity and reliability of the cyber victimization scale were tested. The first study sample consisted of 486 university students, 320 (65.8) female, and 166 (34.2) male. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, a 6-factor structure was obtained. The identified subscales for the victimization form were substitution, verbal teasing, social exclusion, disclosure, cyber victimization with sexual content, anonymous cyber victimization, The total Cronbach's alpha for the victimization form was .81. In the second step, a parallel bully form was created with the same items. The second study sample consisted of 208 university students, 130 (62.5) female, and 78 (37.5) male. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, a similar 6-factor structure was obtained. The identified subscales for the bullying form were substitution, verbal teasing, social excluding, disclosure, cyberbullying with sexual content, and anonymous cyberbullying. The total Cronbach's alpha for the bullying form was .93. The results of exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis indicated that the cyber victimization/bullying scale was a qualified scale that could be preferred in scientific studies conducted with university students

No full textSosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Ana Bilim Dalı, Yeni Türk Edebiyatı Bilim DalıModern hikâye yazarı Eriş, birçok dilden çeviriler yapan yazarlarımızdandır. Günümüzde hala çeviriler yapmaya devam etmektedir. Farklı türde yaptığı çevirilerin yanı sıra hikâye ve roman türlerindeki eserleriyle de dikkat çekmektedir. Bu çalışmada yazarın hayatı, edebî görüşü ve hikâyeleri hakkında bilgi vermeyi amaçladık. Çalışmada, Türk Edebiyatının yaşayan önemli hikâyecilerinden biri olan Mahir Ünsal Eriş ve kırk yedi hikâyesi üzerinde durulmuştur. Aynı zamanda yazarın hikâyelerini değişik açılardan ele alıp, tahlil ve tasnif metotları ile bir çalışma ortaya çıkarmayı amaç edindik. Mahir Ünsal Eriş'in hikâyeleri farklı dünyalara kapı aralar. Yazar, eserlerinde toplum meseleleri üzerinde dursa da bireyi ön plana çıkarmak istemiştir. Özellikle bireyin iç dünyasındaki bunalımları ustaca kaleme almıştır. In addition to the translations he made in different genres, he also draws attention with his works in the genres of stories and novels. In this study, we aimed to give information about the author's life, literary view and stories. In the study, Mahir Ünsal Eriş, one of the important living storytellers of Turkish Literature, and his forty-seven stories are emphasized. At the same time, we aimed to examine the stories of the author from different angles and to create a study with analysis and classification methods. Mahir Ünsal Eriş's stories open doors to different worlds. Although the author focuses on social issues in his works, he wanted to bring the individual to the fore. Native English speaking teachers as cosmopolitans or citizens of the world: An anthropological study in Istanbul, Turkey
No full textThe study of cosmopolitans – citizens of the world— and cosmopolitanism, traceable to ancient Greece, has, after a long decline in interest, made a strong comeback in social sciences since the 1990s, particularly in sociology and anthropology. This anthropological study aims to understand cosmopolitanism and cosmopolitans through native English speaking teachers (NESTs) living in and working at various foundation universities in Istanbul, Turkey. A qualitative method of in-depth interviews with 21 participants was employed over a period of 20 months. Drawing from Diogenes’ and Kant’s concept of “world citizen”, the author elaborates on this theory by highlighting how cosmopolitanism has varied due to globalization and given birth to new cosmopolitan types, one of which is the white-collar cosmopolitan, a category defined through themes and commonalities during data analysis and the interviews, to which NESTs belong. The findings also indicate that cosmopolitanism is evolving into a new form and producing new meanings through specific dispositions particularly, willingness to engage with “the Other” and to embrace cultural, social, ethnic, and religious diversity.Publisher versio

No full textMahir Öztaş, ortaya koymuş olduğu eserlerinde de görüleceği üzere titiz, ince eleyip sık dokuyan ve kendine has tutum geliştirebilmeyi başarabilmiş bir Türk edebiyatı yazarıdır. Sanat hayatına şiir ile başlayan yazar, öykü ve roman gibi kurmaca türlerde de eserler kaleme almıştır. İstanbul Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi’nden mimar olarak mezun olmuştur. Hayatının bir döneminde mimar olarak çalışan yazar, bugün hâlâ yazarlık kariyerine devam etmektedir. Öztaş, kaleme almış olduğu şiir, öykü ve roman türlerinden eserlerinde, tercih ettiği farklı biçim ve teknikleri ile kendine ait bir üslup oluşturmaktan çekinmeyen, yenilikçi bir yazar olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Bunun yanında eserlerinde tercih etmiş olduğu tema ve konu seçimlerinde istikrar göstermekte, kendine ait bir tarz ortaya koymaktadır. Eserlerinde fazlaca değindiği konular arasında bellek, yazmak ve zaman kavramları yer alırken, bu bağlamda yazarın zamana meydan okuyan eserler yazmayı hedeflediği görülmektedir. Öztaş, özellikle kurgu eserlerinde kişisel yaşamını, gezip gördüğü ülke ve şehirleri yolculuk teması ile birleştirebilmeyi başarmıştır. Ölüm, aşk, varoluş, cinsellik, korku gibi evrensel ve temel insanî hisleri anlatılarının temeline oturtmaktadır. Evrensel ve temel insanî konularda yazmayı tercih ettiği eserler, onun anlatılarının her dönem okunur ve ilgi çekici hâlini korumasına olanak sağmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Mahir Öztaş’ın hayatı, yazarın yazmış olduğu eserlerden, yapmış olduğu söyleşilerden, konuşmalardan, antolojilere yazmış olduğu yazılardan derlenmiştir. Yazarın hayatının ortaya konmasındaki amaç eserlerini hayatı üzerinden karşılaştırmalı olarak incelemek değildir. Yazarın özel hayatı ve anılarının edebiyat tarihine katkı sağlayacağı umulmaktadır. Ortaya çıkan bu çalışma kapsamında Öztaş’ın yazmış olduğu edebî eserler tahlil edilerek, sanat anlayışı üzerinde durulacaktır.Mahir Öztaş, as can be seen in his works, is a meticulous, scrutinized Turkish literature writer who has managed to develop a unique attitude. The author, who started his artistic life with poetry, also wrote works in fictional genres such as short stories and novels. He graduated from Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts as an architect. The author, who worked as an architect for a period of his life, still continues his career as a writer today. Öztaş draws attention as an innovative writer who does not hesitate to create his own style with the different forms and techniques he prefers in his works of poetry, story and novel. In addition, he shows stability in the choice of themes and subjects that he prefers in his works, and reveals a style of his own. While the concepts of memory, writing and time are among the subjects that he mentions a lot in his works, it is seen that the author aims to write works that defy time in this context. Öztaş has succeeded in combining his personal life, the countries and cities he has visited with the theme of travel, especially in his fictional works. He bases his narratives on universal and basic human feelings such as death, love, existence, sexuality, and fear. The works he prefers to write on universal and basic human subjects allow his narratives to remain readable and interesting in all periods. In this study, Mahir Öztaş's life has been compiled from the works written by the author, the interviews he has made, speeches, and the articles he has written for anthologies. The purpose of revealing the author's life is not to examine his works comparatively over his life. It is hoped that the author's private life and memories will contribute to the history of literature. Within the scope of this study, the literary works written by Öztaş will be analyzed and the understanding of art will be emphasized
Deprem etkisindeki betonarme binalarda kısa kolon etkisinin doğrusal olmayan davranışının incelenmesi

Bu amaçla 3 katlı bir bina modellenerek zemin katta farklı şekil ve boyutlarda bant pencereler ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada toplam 32 farklı model üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Taşıyıcı elemanlar ile duvarları, malzeme bakımından lineer olmayan şekilde modellenmiştir.Yapının matematik modelleri yapılarak, Lusas yapı analiz programında doğrusal olmayan yapı analizleri yapılmıştır. Çalışmada ele alınan modellerin yük- deplasman ve seçilen kolonda oluşan gerilme grafikleri kolon boyunca grafikler halinde gösterilmiştir. Bu grafiklerde ele alınan ilişkilerin karşılaştırılabilmesi için, tüm modellerin grafik eğrileri tek bir grafikte çizilmiştir. Ayrıca analizler neticesinde modellerde meydana gelen çatlama durumları şekillerde gösterilmiştir.Key Words: Short column, cracking, band window, nonlinear analysis, fill wall.In this study, the short column effects to response of reinforced concrete buildings subjected to earthquake are investigated. For this purpose, the three storeys reinforced concrete buildings are modeled and analyzed. In the first storey, different forms of band windows are considered. The material properties of reinforced concrete beam and columns and fill wall are considered as nonlinear.The nonlinear analyses of all mathematical models are carried out by using of LUSAS finite element analysis packet programmed. The graphics of load- top and first stories displacements are illustrated. The stress curves of selected columns are also presented. Furthermore, the nonlinear crack growths are monitored for selected columns of all models
Effects Of Ketamine And Esketamine On Cognitive Functions İn Treatment-Resistant Depression
No full textMajör depresif bozukluk, yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkileyen ve bilişsel bozulmalara yol açarak iş, eğitim ve sosyal yaşamda ciddi aksaklıklara neden olan bir halk sağlığı sorunudur. Tedaviye dirençli depresyon, en az iki farklı antidepresan ilacın yeterli süre ve dozda kullanımına rağmen depresyon belirtilerinde iyileşme sağlanamaması durumudur. Mevcut farmakolojik yaklaşımlar, tedaviye dirençli depresyon hastalarının yarısında yetersiz kalmakta ve bu ilaçların bilişsel bozulmalar üzerindeki etkileri sınırlı kalmaktadır. Dolayısıyla, yeni ve etkili tedavi yöntemlerine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu derlemenin amacı, tedaviye dirençli depresyon hastalarının tedavisinde kullanılan ketamin ve esketaminin bilişsel fonksiyonlar üzerindeki etkilerini değerlendirmektir. Bu bağlamda gerekli alan yazın incelenmiş ve güncel çalışmalar değerlendirilmiştir. Randomize kontrollü çalışmaların sonuçları, ketaminin tedaviye dirençli depresyon tedavisinde etkili olduğunu ve belirli bilişsel alanlarda iyileşme sağlayabileceğini göstermektedir. Özellikle 0.5 mg/kg ketamin infüzyonuna yanıt veren hastalarda görsel bellek, işleme hızı, çalışma belleği ve dikkat gibi bilişsel işlevlerde anlamlı iyileşmeler kaydedilmiştir. Ancak, uzun süreli ketamin kullanımının mekânsal işlem belleği üzerinde olumsuz etkileri olabileceği belirtilmiştir. Esketamin ise NMDA reseptör antagonisti olarak hızlı ve etkili antidepresan sonuçlar elde etmiş, bilişsel işlevlerde stabilite veya iyileşme sağlamıştır. Ayrıca, intranazal uygulanabilirliği de pratik bir avantaj sunmaktadır. Ancak, yüksek dozda esketamin kullanımının nörotoksik etkiler ve bilişsel işlevler üzerinde olumsuz etkiler yaratabileceğine dair bulgular vardır. Her iki ilacın da depresyon semptomları ve bilişsel işlevler üzerindeki etkileri doz, kullanım süresi ve uygulama sıklığına bağlı olarak değişiklik göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, ketamin ve esketaminin tedaviye dirençli depresyon tedavisinde ve bilişsel semptomların düzelmesinde önemli bir potansiyele sahip olduğu görülmekle birlikte, uzun vadeli etkiler ve güvenilirlik konusunda daha fazla araştırma gerekmektedir
