The current research is a classroom action research with three cycles, each cycle consisting of four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in mathematic course for class VIII-3 SMPN 14 Bengkulu with 37 students consisting of 17 boys and 20 female. From the analysis of student questionnaire, the motivation level of students from the first cycle to the third cycle has increased. In the first cycle, students a positive attitude towards learning TAI to improve student motivation is equal to 78.38%, on the second cycle increased to 83.78%, and the third cycle increased to 94.59%. This increase was followed by student activity. Observations indicate activity of students in the first cycle is at less criteria with an average score of 15, the second cycle increased in sufficient criteria with an average score of 22.5 and the third cycle achieve both criteria with an average score of 27. While the average value of the end of individual students increases every cycle. In the first cycle of 56.44, the second cycle of 72.22, and the third cycle of 84.79. Ccompleteness of classical study in the first cycle of 27.02%, cycle II reached 67.57% and 91.89% for the third cycle that has been achieved based on the criteria established in advance is at least 80%

This research aims to determine what kind of mistakes made PGMI students even semester of the academic year 2016/2017 in solving the problem of compound statement negation on mathematical logic and to know the alternative solution. The type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The research instrument used in this research is mathematical logic test and interview. The data analyzed is the result of student work on the worksheet that made a mistake. The results of this study indicate that students experience some errors that are marking errors, mistranslate logic symbols, concept errors, mistakes remembering the truth value in the statement truth table, and error concluded. After knowing the types of mistakes made by students in working on the question of negation of compound statements, then the alternative solution that can be given to this research problem is to use learning techniques that enable students to think well Like discussing, speaking and writing in front of the class to explain Directly so that students can retain their memories much longer, emphasizing the importance of much work on the matter by watching the right symbols or practicing remembering and writing symbols through the questions, giving repetitive exercise of different types of questions, and routine assignments To be memorized by truth values in mathematical logic

[English]: The descriptive research aims to diagnose the difficulties of secondary school students in understanding Cube and Rectangular Prism and formulate the alternative solution. Geometry test and interview are used as the instrument. The subjects are 3 seventh grade students who respectively represent high, medium and low ability in mathematics. This research finds that the students have difficulties in understanding the properties of cube and rectangular prism, inventing the surface area, and using the formula to determine the surface area. The difficulty in using the formula to solve related problems is an effect of memorizing ready-made formula without understanding so the students are easy to forget it. The alternative ways to cope with the difficulties are: (a) Using computer application (PowerPoint, Ms Word with SmarArt Graphic) and other current softwares like Cabri Geometry, The Geometer’s Sketchpad (GSP), Geometry Expert, Logo, Geogebra, and Wingeom; (b) Activating students’ prior knowledge about plane which explains the side of the solid figures; (c) Implementing guided discovery learning with students’ worksheet; and (d) giving variative exercises involving contextual or non-contextual problems. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
