Praktik Total Quality Management (TQM) Dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan (Studi Pada PT. Telkom Tbk. Cabang Makassar)
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of TQM practices implementation which consists of leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, information and analysis, people management, and process management on employee performance at PT. Telkom Branch Makassar. The population were 540 employees and 270 employees as respondent. The sample obtained based on simple random sampling method. Both descriptive statistic and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were employed to test the effect among variables. Data processing were used by SPSS and AMOS 16.00. The finding of research indicates that: TQM practices implementation which consists of leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, information and analysis, people management, and process management have significantly and positive effect on employee performance
Pengaruh Faktor-Faktor Eksternal dan Internal Terhadap Kinerja Usaha Mikro dan Kecil (UMK) di Sulawesi Selatan
The purposes of the research are: (1) to analyze the external factors influence which consist of governmental policy, social economics and culture, and related institute role aspect to internal factors of Small and Micro Business; (2) to analyze the external factors influence which consist of governmental policy, social economics and culture, and related institute role aspect to Small and Micro Business Performance ; and (3) to analyze the internal factors influence which consists of human resource, financial, technique production and operation, and market or marketing aspect to Small and Micro Business Performance. Research location in Makassar and Pare-Pare City. Total respondents are 300 which divided in two location with the same proportion; i.e. Makassar are 150 respondents; and Pare-Pare are 150 respondents. The Sample technique uses simple random sampling. The data analyzed by descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Data processing performed by software AMOS 4.01, and SPSS for windows. The results indicate that : (1) external factors which consist of governmental policy, social economics and culture, and related institute role aspect have significantly and positive effect to internal factors of small and micro business with contribution equal to 0,980 (98%); (2) external factors which consist of governmental policy, social economics and culture, and related institute role aspect have significantly and positive effect to small and micro business performance with contribution equal to 0,254 (25,4%); and (3) Internal factors which consists of human resource, financial, technique production and operation, and market or marketing aspect have significantly and positive effect to small and micro business performance with contribution equal to 0,792 (79,2%
PENGARUH KEPERCAYAAN, KOMITMEN, DAN TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI TERHADAP KINERJA RANTAI PASOKAN (STUDI KASUS IKM PENGOLAH BUAH MARKISA DI KOTA MAKASSAR)
The effective Supply chain management (SCM) has increasingly become an important way to enhance competitive strength as well as business performance. Trust, commitment, and well-integrated supply chain by Information Technology (IT) support are important elements to improve supply chain performance. The objectives of this study are to examine and analyze the effects of trust variables on supply chain performance, trust on commitment, commitment on supply chain performance, information technology on supply chain performance, and effects of trust variable on supply chain performance through commitment variable to Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) of passion fruit processing in Makassar. This study used a quantitative approach, where the questionnaire as main tools for data collection. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and partial least square-path modeling (PLS-PM). Data computation used SmartPLS 2.0 Software. The results show that trust has a significant effect on supply chain performance, and it also has a significant effect on commitment. Furthermore, commitment has a significant effect on supply chain performance, and information technology has a significant effect on supply chain performance. Trust can improve the supply chain performance by commitment indirectly, and it gives smaller effect on supply chain performance directly than indirectly mediated by commitment. Then, supply chain performance is more influenced by information technology rather than trust and commitment. The results of this study may have implications for the important role of management in maintaining trust, commitment and utilizing information technology in the supply chain system.Keywords: trust, commitment, Information technology, supply chain performance, SMIs of passion fruit processingAbstrakPengelolaan rantai pasokan yang efektif telah menjadi cara terbaik untuk meningkatkan daya saing dan kinerja perusahaan. Kepercayaan, komitmen, dan dukungan teknologi informasi merupakan elemen-elemen penting untuk meningkatkan kinerja rantai pasokan dalam suatu perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh variabel kepercayaan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan, pengaruh kepercayaan terhadap komitmen, pengaruh komitmen terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan, pengaruh teknologi informasi terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan, dan pengaruh variabel kepercayaan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan melalui komitmen pada Industri Kecil dan Menengah (IKM) pengolah buah markisa di Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dimana kuesioner menjadi alat pengumpul data utama. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, dan partial least square-path modeling (PLS-PM). Komputasi data menggunakan bantuan software SmartPLS 2.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel kepercayaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan. Kepercayaan juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen. Komitmen mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan. Teknologi informasi mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan. Variabel kepercayaan mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan melalui komitmen. Kepercayaan memberikan efek langsung yang lebih kecil pada kinerja rantai pasokan dibadingkan dengan efek tidak langsung, yang dimediasi oleh komitmen. Kinerja rantai pasokan lebih dipengaruhi oleh teknologi informasi daripada kepercayaan dan komitmen. Hasil studi ini dapat berimplikasi pada pentingnya peranan manajemen untuk konsisten menjaga kepercayaan, komitmen dan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam sistem rantai pasokan.Kata kunci: kepercayaan, komitmen, teknologi informasi, kinerja rantai pasokan, IKM pengolah buah markis
The Impact of Total Quality Management Practices towards Competitive Advantage and Organizational Performance: Case of Fishery Industry in South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia
This study attempt to test the effect of Total Quality Management (TQM) practices towards competitive advantage and organizational performance. The design of this research has quantitative approach. Data was collected by questionnaire instrument. The unit of analysis is big and medium scale fishery companies. The respondents in this research are the managers of fishery companies. The study utilized primary data which is obtained through questionnaire. The number of population was 66 fishery companies in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Random sampling is used in the study. 55 complete questionnaires were returned as a final sample. Three hypotheses have been developed through literature review and tested using Path Analysis performed by SPSS 18.00 software. The results show that TQM practices have positive and significant effect both on organizational performance and competitive advantage. Competitive advantage has a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. Organizational performance is more influenced by competitive advantage than TQM practices
The Effect of TQM Practices on Corporate Performance and Competitive Advantage as Mediating Variable: Study at Manufacturing Companies in Makassar, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia
This study conducts a comprehensive review of the literature and develops a framework that links among TQM practices, competitive advantage, and corporate performance. The paper provides empirical support for direct and indirect effects of TQM practices on competitive advantage and corporate performance. The purpose of this research is to empirically investigate the impact of TQM practices on competitive advantage and corporate performance.The study utilized primary data obtained from a questionnaire method. 167 manufacturing companies were surveyed in Makassar, South Sulawesi. A total of 114 completed questionnaires were returned as final sample. Four hypotheses have been developed through literature review and tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by software of IBM SPSS and AMOS version 20. The result shows that TQM practices has significant effect on corporate performance and competitive advantage directly. TQM practices has significant effect on corporate performance through competitive advantage. Competitive advantage has significant effect on corporate performance. Corporate performance is more influenced by competitive advantage than TQM practices
Strategi Peningkatan Kinerja dan Peran Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) Pengolah Produk Berbasis Pangan di Kota Makassar
This study aimed to identify both internal factors and external that determined the food based SMEs performance, to know the role of SMEs in the supply of food-based products for the community, and to formulate strategies to improve the food based SMEs performance in Makassar. The population of this study was 119 firms. The number of respondents was 60 entrepreneurs. Sample selection used simple random technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method, and analitical Hierarchy Processes (AHP). Processing the data using both SPSS 16.00 and Super Decision 1.60. The results showed that market availability, long of business, quality control, business management, and sales promotion as internal factors that affected SMEs performance, and then access to capital, access to information market, pro-business government policies, interest rate loans and technical assistance as external factors. Role of SMEs in providing food-based products for the community was included in good categories with an average value (mean) = 3.55. ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN KINERJA OPERASIONAL USAHA MENENGAH (Medium Entreprises) DI KOTA MAKASSAR
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji perbedaan kinerja operasional antara industri manufaktur dengan industri jasa pada usaha/industri menengah di Kota Makassar. Target populasi adalah 121 usaha/industri menengah; dan sampel sebanyak 59 yang terdiri atas 30 industri manufaktur, dan 29 industri jasa. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah statistic deskriptif dan independent sample T-tes. Pengolahan data menggunakan bantuan program statistik SPSS for windows. A Study on Relationship between TQM Practices and Competitive Advantage: Case at Basic Metal Industry in Indonesia
Background: In past two decades, TQM has been widely studied as a philosophy, approach and strategy to achieve competitive advantage. TQM is a new paradigm of doing business that attempts to maximize the competitiveness of the organization through a focus on customer satisfaction, involvement of all employees, and continuous improvement of the quality of products, services, people, processes and organizational environment. Objective: To empirically investigate the impact of TQM practices on competitive advantage at basic metal industry in Makassar, Indonesia. Results: There is a positive and significant effect of critical factors of TQM practices on competitive advantage. They were consists of leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, training, and suppliers management. Leadership factor is the strongest significant predictor of competitive advantage. Conclusion: The results of this study can be used by managers to prioritize the implementation of TQM practices. For instance, those practices that are found to have a positive impact on competitive advantage can be recommended to managers so that they can allocate resources to improve these practices to get the best competitive advantage in their organizatio
