Revisiting KH Muafi Ali Zaini's Legacy: 'Modernization' of Islamic Boarding School in Sampang
This study explores the transformation of Islamic boarding school education, focusing on two key aspects: revitalization and modernization. Revitalization involves renewing educational programs to enhance their effectiveness, while modernization refers to evolving the Islamic education system to improve its quality. The research aims to analyze the historical leadership of Kyai Muafi Zaini in these movements, assess community responses to the changes, and evaluate the outcomes for alumni and the broader community. Utilizing qualitative historical research methods heuristic data collection, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography the study verifies data through credibility, dependability, confirmability, and transferability checks. Findings reveal that Kyai Muafi Zaini, a prominent figure born in 1947 and deceased in 2006, played a significant role in revitalizing and modernizing Islamic boarding school education, particularly in Sampang Regency. He was a charismatic leader who established several formal educational institutions, including MTs Nazhatut Thullab and SMA Nazhatut Thullab. Through these institutions, he implemented significant transformation efforts that not only contributed to the improvement of community welfare but also played a crucial role in changing the local perception of education in Sampang. Zaini's contributions were pivotal in enhancing the quality of education in the region, as well as in shifting the negative stigma traditionally associated with Islamic education. His vision and dedication fostered a learning environment that encouraged academic excellence and personal growth. His legacy as a committed scholar and influential community leader continues to inspire and shape the educational landscape, ensuring that future generations benefit from the foundation he helped create
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods

ABSTRACT NA'IMMATUL MUAFI (154210014). Income and Expenditure Structure of Hybrid Coconut Farmers in Pulau Burung Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Mother's Guidance Dr. Elinur, SP, Msi. The increase in household income of hybrid coconut farmers affects household spending in meeting the economic needs of food and non-food. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of hybrid coconut farmers, the income structure of hybrid coconut farmers and household expenditures, and the factors that influence the household expenditure of hybrid coconut farmers. The method used in this study is a survey method, in Pulau Burung sub-district simple random. The sample of hybrid coconut farmers came from 6 villages with a simple random sampling method, namely: (1) Bangun Harjo Jaya Village (2) Bukit Sari Intan Jaya (3) Ringin Jaya (4) Sri Danai (5) Manunggal Jaya (6) Keramat Jaya, the total sample is 56 hybrid coconut farmers. The results showed that hybrid coconut farmers were of productive age with an average age of 48.48 years, farmers generally had high school education, the number of family members in general was 4 people and farmers had experience in farming, with an average land area of 5.57 hectares. The income structure comes from farm laborer income, hybrid coconut farming income, non-hybrid coconut farming and non-farming, the highest income comes from hybrid coconut farming income with a percentage of 41.14%. Household expenditure consists of food and non-food expenditure, the highest expenditure consists of food expenditure with a percentage of 72.85%. The results of the estimation of the household expenditure model of hybrid coconut farmers show that the variable number of family members significantly affects the household expenditure of hybrid coconut farmers with an R2 value of 0.532. The response of household income, education of husband and wife, number of family members is inelastic, the implications show that these changes have a major impact on household expenditures for hybrid coconut farmers
A model of circular economy in the relationship with sustainable development, recycling, and life cycle: Bibliometric analysis
This paper is carried out by conducting systematic mapping that focuses on the circular economy (CE) theme using bibliometric analysis. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive view of circular economy research that is based on bibliometric data from 2017 to 2021. The data is collected from Scopus using VOSviewer software. Network visualization and density visualization are used in this study. The findings conclude that: (1) the publication trend of the circular economy continues to increase; and (2) the author with the most link is Mangla, S.K. with 15 links, and the author with the most research related to a circular economy is Liu, Y. with 16 papers/research. It is also found that there are 3 big themes that are close to a circular economy, namely sustainable development, recycling, and life cycle. This indicates that the opportunity to examine circular economy while associating it with variables outside of sustainable development, recycling, and the life cycle is still very large. The countries that have conducted the most research on circular economy is (1) United Kingdom (218 papers); (2) Italy (161 papers); and (3) China (161 papers)
