Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Sistem kontrol merupakan suatu sistem yang menjadi pusat perhatian di bidang robotika. Dimana dengan adanya sistem kontrol ini, robot bisa menjadi lebih cerdas dan canggih. Pada proyek akhir ini akan dibangun sebuah sistem kontrol inverted pendulum pada mobile robot. Inverted pendulum adalah pendulum yang mempunyai titik berat diatas titik tumpunya. Balancing Robot ini selalu menyetimbangkan sistemnya agar pendulum tetap tegak. Sebagai deteksi kemiringan antara robot dengan lantai digunakan sensor Sharp GP2D12. Sensor ini mempunyai output tegangan analog. Data dari sensor ini akan diolah oleh Mikrokontroler ATMega 16. Karena data yang dibawa oleh Sharp GP2D12 ini mempunyai noise, maka data harus difilter. Filter yang dipakai adalah Single Exponential Filter yang bisa mereduksi noise secara optimal disamping juga mempunyai respon waktu yang cepat. Setelah selesai pemrosesan, data diolah dengan menggunakan kontrol PID. Dengan sistem kontrol ini, robot akan bergerak maju mundur searah dengan arah gerak jatuhnya pendulum. Prosentase keberhasilan kontrol PID pada robot ini adalah 90% dengan robot tidak pernah jatuh tetapi berosilasi kecil.

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full text[[abstract]]關於唐代的服飾，傳世典籍的記載頗多，但是所顯現的多係上層社會的服飾，對於平民百姓服飾的記載卻是相當匱乏。而敦煌寫本字書《俗務要名林》，除了在教育和語言方面具有一定的價值之外，也為研究唐代民間，尤其是敦煌地區民間的服飾文化，提供了相當珍貴的第一手資料。本文以《俗務要名林》中所保存的男服部、女服部、綵帛絹布部等有關服飾的詞彙為研究對象，說明《俗務要名林》的時代與性質，並將服飾的詞彙一一加以校錄。進一步針對其所反映的胡漢文化融合、婦女風氣開放、審美觀念進步、衣料品種多樣等服飾文化進行探討。同時，論述唐代敦煌地區民間服飾文化形成的時空背景。期能藉此重現唐代民間服飾文化的真實面貌，並且彌補傳世典籍對於民間服飾記載的不足，凸顯其於中國服飾文化史上具有補白的重要作用與價值。[[abstract]]There have been a great number of literary classics and documents remarking on the costumes of the Tang Dynasty for centuries. However, most of them put their emphases on the costumes of the upper class while few talked about folk costumes. Among them, the dictionary of Dun-Huang manuscript “Su Wu Yao Ming Lin” can not only be served as a valuable material in education and language, but also an extremely good material that could actually reflect the folk costume culture of the Tang Dynasty. The subjects of this study are vocabularies of costumes, including men’s wear, women’s wear, colored silks and silk clothing preserved in “Su Wu Yao Ming Lin”. This study firstly explains time and nature of “Su Wu Yao Ming Lin”, then collates and records the vocabularies of costumes. Further, this study aims at the following costume cultures and discusses them, which are the cultural blending of Hu and Han, the open ethos of women, the progress of aesthetic and the various dress materials. At the same time, this study would like to discuss the background formed by folk costume cultures in Dun-Huang area of the Tang Dynasty. This study expects to reappear the real appearance of the Tang Dynasty’s folk costume cultures by this way, making up for the shortage of the folk costumes recorded in descendant literatures to highlight its important role and value of filling the gaps in the history of Chinese costume cultures

In the study of three hundred and six stocks of Caynne pineapple, we picked over-ha If-matured fruit at four different weeks from the beginning, and at the same time check the fruit wt., sound of fruit etc., twenty-six characters of each stock, and study the coef. of linear correlation of each character, and the differenes of each character at different period of maturity.
The fruit weight and the number of fruitlet, flourish of leaves, development of slip and sucker etc. are positively correlated. The fruit sounded like knocking one’s arm have more juice than those which sounded like knocking wooden column, but the fruit sounded like knocking a wooden column have higher sugar content. The slenderer the peduncle is, the smaller the fruit is, the higher the crown is, the less the amount of the sucker and slip. The leaves of the plant picked at earlier or middle period look more flourished, especially with more higher sugar content, smaller crown, and delicious taste

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
