No full textThe article deals with the question of authorship of the thirteenth-century Chronica Polonorum (or Gesta principium Polonorum [The Deeds of the Princes of the Poles]), also known as The Polish Chronicle. It seeks to verify the hypothesis, recently reproposed by Tomasz Jasiński, whereby the author was of Venetian origin. The hypothesis is namely based on the textual similarities observed between Translatio Sancti Nicolai by an author referred to as the ‘Monk of Lido’ (Monachus Littorensis) and the Chronica. The attribution attempt put forth by M. Eder is based upon stylometric methods that measure the frequencies of the most frequent words in the texts under research (mainly, conjunctions, prepositions, pronouns, and particles) which are subsequently subjected to cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling, or principal components analysis. The outcome of the experiment in question has demonstrated a strong resemblance between the Translatio Sancti Nicolai and the Polish Chronicle, which may be regarded as an substantial argument in support of the Venetian background hypothesis

No full textWe aim to realize an analises of the book The hours written by a north- american author Michael Cunningham by the translation perspective, understood in this context, while practice of the difference between the england culture and the north-american culture, considerring that Cunningham realizes a new critical lecture from the english romance called Mrs. Dalloway, written by Virginia Woolf. In this way, intend its to propose reflexions concerning of the construction process of the romance by means of we understand for cultural translation and this term will be discuted appropriatally in this work’s structure. It's relevant to stand out some modalities which will be noted in the chapters and they will be followed in this order: the literary appropriation, the cultural translation, the negociation, the lecture, the pastiche and the filmic adaptation.Neste trabalho realizamos uma análise da obra As horas, do autor norte-americano Michael Cunningham, sob a perspectiva da tradução, entendida neste contexto enquanto prática da diferença entre as culturas inglesa e norte-americana, haja vista que Cunningham realiza uma releitura crítica do romance inglês de Virginia Woolf intitulado Mrs. Dalloway. Propusemos reflexões acerca do processo de construção da obra por meio do que entendemos por tradução cultural, termo discutido no corpus desta dissertação. Algumas modalidades da tradução ao longo dos capítulos estão evidenciadas e apresentam-se na seguinte ordem: a apropriação literária, a transferência cultural, a negociação, a leitura; o pastiche e a adaptação fílmica
