Chermak-Delgado Simple Groups
This paper provides the first steps in classifying the finite solvable groups
having Property A, which is a property involving abelian normal subgroups. We
see that this classification is reduced to classifying the solvable
Chermak-Delgado simple groups, which the author defines. The author completes a
classification of Chermak-Delgado simple groups under certain restrictions on
the primes involved in the group order
Delgado, Hegel and the Rodrigo Chronicles
Richard Delgado has made path-breaking contributions to the literature on race and American law. His Rodrigo Chronicles are already classics of the Critical Race Theory genre. It is, therefore, wholly appropriate that the Harvard Latino Law Review dedicated a symposium issue to an examination of the Rodrigo Chronicles and Delgado\u27s other work. In this symposium essay, the author attempts to illuminate Delgado\u27s project in the Chronicles through an examination of various aspects of Hegel\u27s philosophy. Hegel\u27s philosophy allows us to better understand Delgado\u27s work in the Chronicles and elsewhere

Categorias persuasivas na poesia de Washington Delgado
It has been observed that critical studies on the poetry of Washington Delgado are fundamentally oriented to place him in the group of the Generation of 50, in relation to their published books. TheLiterary criticism has followed the vital and productive career of Delgado, valuing and revaluing in some way its poetic discursivity. Is important to point out the artistic elements in Washington's poetryDelgado taking into account the contribution of literary theory as an instrument to enrich current criticism; Thus, the theory of argumentationallows us to know the poetic strategy of the author through the use of persuasive categories in his poetry.Se ha podido observar que los estudios críticos en torno a la poesía de Wáshington Delgado se orientan fundamentalmente a ubicarlo en el grupo de la Generación del 50, en relación con sus libros publicados. How personal experience modulates the neural circuitry of memories of September 11
Brown and Kulik [Brown R, Kulik J (1977) Cognition 5:73–99] introduced the term “flashbulb memory” to describe the recall of shocking, consequential events such as hearing news of a presidential assassination. They proposed that the vivid detail of such memories results from the action of a unique neural mechanism. In the present study of personal recollections of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 (9/11) in New York City, we combine behavioral and brain imaging techniques, with two goals: (i) to explore the neural basis of such memories and (ii) to clarify the characteristics of the emotional events that may give rise to them. Three years after the terrorist attacks, participants were asked to retrieve memories of 9/11, as well as memories of personally selected control events from 2001. At the time of the attacks, some participants were in Downtown Manhattan, close to the World Trade Center; others were in Midtown, a few miles away. The Downtown participants exhibited selective activation of the amygdala as they recalled events from 9/11, but not while they recalled control events. This was not the case for the Midtown participants. Moreover, only the Downtown participants reported emotionally enhanced recollective experiences while recalling events from 9/11, as compared with control events. These results suggest that close personal experience may be critical in engaging the neural mechanisms that underlie the emotional modulation of memory and thus in producing the vivid recollections to which the term flashbulb memory is often applied. This is an electronic version of the article published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 104(1):389-394, 2007. The next bibliometrics: ALMetrics (Author Level Metrics) and the multiple faces of author impact
The main goal of this article is to describe the purpose and content of a new branch of bibliometrics: ALMetrics (Author-Level Metrics). ALMetrics is focused on the quantitative analysis of an author's performance by measuring the dimensions of their intellectual activity as shown through varied metric indicators. This article will list, define, and classify the different metrics that are offered in newer information portals that showcase the scientific activity of authors. These metrics are grouped into five sets: bibliometrics (publication and citation), usage, participation, rating, social connectivity, and composite indicators. This new bibliometric specialty is necessary because of new trends in scientific assessment, which have moved analysis away from old bibliometrics (based on journal analysis and Impact Factor) towards new bibliometrics that analyze both documents and authors via a mix of indicators. Most importantly, ALMetrics responds to the researchers' desire for both knowledge and acknowledgement.Orduña Malea, E.; Martín-Martín, A.; Delgado-López-Cózar, E. (2016). The Marranism and the poetry of João Pinto Delgado, author of On Leaving Lisbon
This paper presents an approach to a subtype of the corpus of Western Sephardic Diaspora literature.
