The present work had aimed to reflect about the use of the assembly and the foreign terms in Memórias Sentimentais de João Miramar. The Oswald de Andrade’s work is a critic and at the same time, a reflection about the foreign influence in Brazil. Through an anthropophagic point of view, the author proposes a new sequence to the Brazilian Novel, using the technique of cinematographic assembly. It is an avant-garde work, where the linguistic experimentalism and aesthetic are observed in a critic way

    The Blind translating the invisible

Nesse contexto, a leitura crítica e a tradução desta peça obedecem à convicção de que a realidade é o que está além dos sentidos, por isso não pode ser percebida por eles, senão pelo contrário, porque os sentidos nos enganam e só servem para nos fazer ter uma ideia equivocada da realidadeThe present work is based on the literary translation of a theatrical play written in 1890 by the poet and playwright Maurice Maeterlinck, titled Les Aveugles ( The Blind ), the first of a set of eight plays by this author of the so-called \"theater of horror\".The purpose of analyzing the reading of this translation is that the staging of this text represented, at the time, the renewal of dramatic language and will serve as a basis for modern theater, as it challenges the effects of theatrical illusion and verisimilitude, and the eight plays from this period show the presence of the characteristics of symbolist theater. In view of this, this work aims to analyze the specificities of a poetics of modern theater at the end of the century that represented the precedent of the theater of the first avant-garde movements, and which is known by the name of static theater. This typology of dramatic art in which there is no conflict or action, but an irreversible tragedy. In this context, the critical reading and translation of this play obeys the conviction that reality is what is beyond the senses, and therefore cannot be perceived by them, but quite the opposite, because the senses deceive us and only serve to make us have a mistaken idea of realit

Innovative techniques for Structural Health Monitoring: a theoretical and experimental study

    No full text
2009 - 2010The here considered SHM procedure concerns innovative techniques for a structural monitoring of aeronautical components, all of them based upon the use of a Scanning Laser Doppler Vibrometer. The vibrometer is used to detect the dynamic response of the component under test, in wave propagation regime. The signal so recorded consists of space and time maps of vibration velocity offplane. The purpose of the study lies in the analysis of such maps, using filtering techniques that separate reflected waves from the incident ones, so that they can enable to identify defects. The innovative application of a novel technique (introduced by Ruzzene) for the first time to stringerized composite specimens, allowed the generation of baseline information directly from the measured dataset. The effectiveness of these methods has been demonstrated through their application to detection of a delamination in a composite stiffened plate and detection of defect/wrinkling in a T-shaped skin to stringer component. The most significant technological innovations achieved through these theses are: • The option key to excite the surface of a complex structure (in this case, the skins of a composite stingerized panel) and to derive the velocity profile on surfaces orthogonal to the excited one (in our case the web of the stringer) has been checked. This is crucial, as it would allow to install the piezo elements on the stringers, to excite them and to read velocities of points over the entire surface of the skin, without disassembly. Up to now, only cases of standard solicitation have been analyzed in literature, or cases where the velocities were acquired on the same surfaces excited. Today, therefore, there is no published study on the analysis conducted in such a manner. • The damage index was also applied to stiffened and greatly complex geometries. Up to now, in literature only analysis applied to simple flat panels can be found. • The FEM simulation was carried out on stiffened panels. In literature there are only simulations carried out on simple structural elements like flat panels without any stiffener. [edited by Author]IX n.s

Lessons on Refusal in Anthropology: Mauro Almeida and the Task of Permanent Decolonization of An(thropo)logical Thought

    No full text
As the author himself announces, unsuspecting individuals might find the heterogeneous gathering presented here strange, but Mauro Almeida is generous in guiding us through a reading program capable of connecting his reflections over the past decades, of a sophisticated intellectual who nonetheless views the world from the battleground of political struggles for socio-environmental rights with rubber tappers, riverine dwellers, and indigenous peoples in the Amazon Rainforest. Among the potential lessons to be gleaned from the reading of the work, there is the refusal of an anthropology that does not position itself adjacent to politics, where ontological wars do not separate "theory from practice."Como o próprio autor anuncia, pessoas desavisadas podem estranhar a reunião heteróclita aqui apresentada, mas Mauro Almeida é generoso em nos guiar em um programa de leitura capaz de conectar suas reflexões nas últimas décadas, de um intelectual sofisticado, mas que pensa o mundo a partir do chão das lutas políticas por direitos socioambientais com os seringueiros, ribeirinhos e povos indígenas na Floresta Amazônica.

Despite the presentation of a generous or charitable act as a gift, it will always hide an interest, such as saving souls conquering them for a certain cause, belonging to the non-profit association for social recognition or political interest, etc. Nobody gives anything for free and that is why the author pretends to reveal the reality. The problem of distrust in the mutual aid will be exposed when aid is over and the world becomes totally selfish.

The author gives us a different view of Alfredo Pareja, as a regular visitor of the Cima Bookshop. in Quito, in the 70's. He reconstructs the generous friend, avid reader, erudite disciple of the greats, and presents the relationship between the already famous author and the owner of the bookshop, which was centered on friendship rather than book sales. He also mentions an interview in which Pareja insists that music be he Id as an art higher than literature. Other anecdotes add to this image and highlight Pareja Diezcanseco's human qualities
