    Along with the development and change of time, customary law is still used and not used. Development and change occur due to modernization and emancipation factors that arise with economic and political developments, science and technology which directly impact social awareness and human rights, this also creates a dynamic movement of the demands of human dignity. This situation also greatly affects girls who want to escape from the values ​​of customary law, which are discriminatory in nature between the roles, rights and authorities of boys compared to girls. In the study of the writing of this thesis, there are 3 (three) main problems that the author raises, namely First, how are the provisions of the Inheritance of Assets according to Toba Batak Customs in their original area, second, how is the application of customary inheritance law at the Sitompul clan association in Pekanbaru city, and third, How is the development of the application of customary inheritance law at the Sitompul clan association in the city of Pekanbaru according to the area of ​​origin. In this study, the author uses a sociological legal research method that is included in this type of observational research, namely by surveying or visiting directly to the research location using data collection tools, namely interviews and questionnaires with respondents. The results of the study indicate that the provisions of inheritance of wealth according to the Batak Toba custom in the area of ​​origin still use the Patrilineal system. In whatever form, the inheritance of wealth is still firmly held and falls into the hands of the Toba Batak boys. And if someone does not have a male descendant, then the offspring is considered extinct and all property falls in the hands of the son's family according to the agreement of the Toba Batak Adat King. The position of daughters in the provisions of the Toba Batak Adat inheritance is not entitled to inheritance from their parents in any form. The application of traditional inheritance law at the Sitompul clan association in Pekanbaru generally still uses the Patrilineal system which always prioritizes boys compared to girls, because in the Sitompul clan customary system boys are Kings and are also descendants of the Sitompul clan. The development of the application of customary inheritance law at the Sitompul clan association in Pekanbaru City according to the area of ​​origin is influenced by the times, in which the Sitompul clan community is familiar with western laws such as the Burgelijk Wetboek or better known in Indonesia the Civil Code. This research is a quantitative research using secondary data obtained from BI and BPS. The data to be obtained is related to the prices of basic commodities in Indonesia area affected by the pandemic which has caused market prices to increase or decrease. The research method is by collecting data on the prices of basic commodities that are already in the data by BI and BPS. As a result, we will find out how currency exchange rates, inflation, and the effect on market prices during the pandemic in Indonesia .     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi edukatif dosen dengan mahasiswa dalam pembangunan karakter atau budi pekerti mahasiswa melalui kegiatan perkuliahan di FIS Unimed Medan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan kajian bagi lembaga atau instansi terkait untuk selanjutnya dapat mengambil langkah-langkah konkrit untuk peningkatan kualitas dan intensitas pembinaan karakter atau budi perkerti mahasiswa dalam rangka membangun karakter bangsa Indonesia. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian di atas maka dalam penelitian ini digunakan pendekatan diskriptif kualitatif penulis berinteraksi secara aktif dalam proses pengumpulan data. Peneliti akan menggunakan intuisi dan merumuskan pertanyaan-pertanyaan dan melakukan pengamatan secara cermat. Untuk memahami makna perilaku dosen-dosen dan mahasiswa dalam berinteraksi peneliti akan melibatkan diri secara langsung dalam situasi sosial. Berdasarkan karakteristik pendekatan kualitatif, peneliti akan mengungkapkan makna dibalik suatu fenomena yang terjadi di FIS Unimed Medan khususnya fenomena yang berkaitan dengan interaksi edukatif dosen dengan mahasiswa dalam rangka pembinaan karakter atau budi pekerti mahasiswa. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah peningkatan pembangunan karakter mahasiswa dalam hal ini adalah karakter atau budi pekerti mahasiswa melalui interaksi edukatif dosen di dalam proses pembelajaran di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Unimed.     Using Artificial Neural Network to Provide Realistic Lifting Capacity in the Mobile Crane Simulation

    Simulations are often used for training novice operators to avoid accidents, while they are still polishing their skills. To ensure the experience gained in the simulation be applicable in real-world scenarios, the simulation has to be made as realistic as possible. This paper investigated how to make the lifting capacity of a virtual mobile crane behave similarly like its real counterpart. We initially planned to use information from the load charts, which document how the lifting capacity of a mobile crane works, but the data in the load charts were very limited. To mitigate this issue, we trained an artificial neural network (ANN) using 90% of random data from two official load charts of a real mobile crane. The trained model could predict the lifting capacity based on the real-time states of the boom length, the load radius, and the counterweight of the virtual mobile crane. To evaluate the accuracy of the ANN predictions, we conducted a real-time experiment inside the simulation, where we compared the lifting capacity predicted by the ANN and the remaining 10% of the data from the load charts. The results showed that the ANN could predict the lifting capacity with small deviation rates. The deviation rates also had no significant impact on the lifting capacity, except when both boom length and load radius were approaching their maximum states. Therefore, the predicted lifting capacity generated by the ANN could be assumed to be close enough to the values in the load charts.This is an Author Accepted Manuscript version of the following chapter: S.     Pembangkit Fungsi Keanggotaan Fuzzy Otomatis Menggunakan Neural Network

    In this study the author used an algorithm Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) to generate automatically fuzzy membership functions, in order to obtain a more precise membership functions according to the data provided. Backpropagation neural network algorithm is one of the algorithm supervised learning, this learning need supervision in the learning process. One of the important factor in BPNN learning is the number of input variables. To get the better result we have to used more input variables. In this study, only one initial input variables have to be used, according to the dataset used, so as to get the better result added two new initial input variables, namely x ABSTRACT 2 and x3. Variable x2 be obtained by using the algorithm additional. It’s called Kohonen algorithm (SOM). The variable x3 be obtained by using the formula (x2 - index (i)). Moreover than, the Kohonen algorithm is also used to get the output value will be used as input process to the algorithm BPNN training. From the results of research by the author, the BPNN algorithm have to automatically generate membership functions at the beginning of one variable, using the Kohonen algorithm to obtain additional initial input variables. Keywords : Fuzzy, Membership Function, BPNN, Kohonen (SOM).Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan algoritma Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) untuk membangkitkan fungsi keanggotaan fuzzy secara otomatis, agar didapatkan fungsi keanggotaan yang lebih tepat sesuai dengan data yang diberikan. Algoritma backpropagation neural network merupakan salah satu algoritma pembelajaran supervised learning, yaitu pembelajaran yang membutuhkan pengawasan dalam proses pembelajarannya. Salah satu faktor penting dalam pembelajaran BPNN adalah jumlah variabel input. Semakin banyak variabel input yang digunakan, maka akan semakin bagus target yang didapatkan. Dalam penelitian ini, variabel input awal yang digunakan hanya satu variabel, sesuai dengan dataset yang digunakan, sehingga untuk mendapatkan hasil target yang lebih baik ditambahkan dua variabel input awal yang baru, yaitu x2 dan x3. Variabel x2 didapatkan dengan menggunakan algoritma tambahan yaitu algoritma kohonen (SOM), sedangkan variabel x3 didapatkan dengan menggunakan rumus x2 – indeks (i). Selain itu algoritma kohonen juga digunakan untuk mendapatkan nilai output yang akan dijadikan sebagai input proses pelatihan pada algoritma BPNN. Dari hasil penelitian yang penulis lakukan, algoritma BPNN dapat membangkitkan fungsi keanggotaan secara otomatis pada satu variabel awal, dengan menggunakan algoritma kohonen untuk mendapatkan variabel input awal tambahan.
