The Greek future and its history
La présentation du volume suit un ordre grosso modo chronologique: 1) Prélude (LAMBERT), 2) Grec archaïque et grec classique (CRESPO, ALLAN, DE LA VILLA, KÖLLIGAN, FAURE, ORLANDINI-POCCETTI, PITAVY, RADEMAKER, TRONCI, WEISS), 3) Aspects diachroniques (SAMPANIS, DENIZOT-VASSILAKI), 4) Premiers stades du grec moderne (MARKOPOULOS, KARANTZOLA).The contributions in this volume deal with a wide range of issues relating to future-referring expressions in all periods of Greek: the (diachronic) interplay of the future with other grammatical categories such as the subjunctive (RADEMAKER, SAMPANIS), present indicative (PITAVY), voice (TRONCI), tense-aspect (DE LA VILLA, ORLANDINI & POCCETTI); the (diachronic) interplay between the synthetic future and periphrastic future expressions (ALLAN, KÖLLIGAN); the future in conditional clauses (FAURE); the origin of the Homeric future form ἐσσεῖται (CRESPO); the treatment of the future in the ancient grammarians (LAMBERT); the future in epigraphical texts (WEISS); Medieval Greek future forms in a XIVth century dictionary from Yemen (MARKOPOULOS), in a prose corpus from the XVIth c. (KARANTZOLA), and the Modern Greek modal adverb τυχόν and its future-related associations (DENIZOT & VASSILAKI). Roughly speaking, the contents of this volume follows a diachronical order: 1) Prelude (LAMBERT), 2) Archaic and Classical Greek (CRESPO, ALLAN, DE LA VILLA, KÖLLIGAN, FAURE, ORLANDINI-POCCETTI, PITAVY, RADEMAKER, TRONCI, WEISS), 3) Diachronical aspects (SAMPANIS, DENIZOT-VASSILAKI), 4) Early Modern Greek (MARKOPOULOS, KARANTZOLA)

The evolving field of tangible interaction for children : the challenge of empirical validation
This special issue is devoted to the topic of tangible user interfaces and children. It
emphasizes research on tangibility that transcends system descriptions, focusing on the empirical
support of theories and design guidance. The papers result from the organization of a workshop at
the CHI 2009 ACM conference in Boston, USA. As an introduction to this issue, empirical
evidence is discussed for the potential benefits that using TUIs may have for children. In
particular, we focus at the impact of tangibility in terms of usability, learning, collaboration and
fun. Finally, we suggest directions for future work and outline the papers that are included in this
special issue

Density functional and ab initio study of the tautomeric forms of 3-acetyl tetronic and 3-acetyl tetramic acids
We propose all the accessible paths of interconversion between the tautomers of 3-acetyl tetronic and 3-acetyl tetramic acids by performing calculations with the density functional B3LYP method and the ab initio MP2 method. Our findings clarify at the atomic level the mechanisms of the equilibria between these tautomers, a topic so far only partially understood on the basis of studies by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. We show that thermal effects via relative Gibbs free energies ?G must be taken into account in order to reach good quantitative agreement with the available experimental information on the ratios of the most stable tautomers. The calculated 1H and 13C chemical shifts are in agreement with the experimental values from NMR spectroscopy

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
