PRZEMYSŁAW WOJCIESZEK’S ROMANCE WITH LITERATUREThe main topic of the article are literary inspirations present in the cinema of a Polish filmmaker, scriptwriter and playwright Przemysław Wojcieszek. Since Zabij ich wszystkich Kill’em all, 1999, his directorial debut, he maintains the image of a social realist filmmaker, while creating an alternative reality of his own. The author analyses an abundant presence of literature — mainly Polish poetry — in Wojcieszek’s movies and its influence on the style of his works. In conclusion, the author proposes an interpretational key to Wojcieszek’s cinema. Most of his characters are created with a significant touch of bovarism; the books they read fuel their craving for an unspecific better and more purposeful life. No full textFor many years, Władysław Stanisław Reymont’s biography has been the subject of discussions of literary researchers and a source of ever growing controversy. Its credibility is justifiably dubious because of considerable vagueness, gaps and biographical shifts, as well as numerous misuses, actually consistent with the intention of the author of The Peasants. Despite the fact that the writer’s curriculum vitae will probably for ever remain just a “biography full of conscious mystifications”, it is worth focusing on Reymont’s private correspondence, undoubtedly a source of reliable knowledge of the author. One of its significant and interesting elements seems to be love, and therefore references to the emotional aspect of the aforementioned writings are the subject matter of my presentation. The starting point of the deliberations is a description of “a lightning-and-thunderbolt- like” love, i.e. an analysis of the stormy affection of the author of The Vampire for Wanda Szczukowa from Zakopane. No full textThe subject of the article is a detailed analysis of the administrative and legal aspects of ascertainment causes of death. The first part of the article describes the Polish law regarding ascertainment death. Then, the author defines problems of interpretation and application of the law, as well as the author presents legislation project of new funeral law. The third subsection of the article relates to comparative law – selected aspects of the death investigation system, in particular the position of a coroner in England, Wales, the state of New York.Przedmiotem artykułu jest szczegółowa analiza administracyjnoprawnych aspektów stwierdzenia zgonu, przy uwzględnieniu zmian w przepisach wprowadzonych w ramach tzw. ustaw covidowych. W pierwszej części artykułu przeprowadzono charakterystykę przepisów polskiego prawa dotyczących stwierdzenia zgonu. No full textAbstract: Evolution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation — from the military to the economic cooperationThe paper shows the evolution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), going from the military to the economic form of interaction. It describes how the Russian‑Chinese cooperation has developed over the years that have passed since the collapse of the Soviet Union as well as how the relations have gradually been tightened. The author deals with the genesis of the SCO and the multidimensional nature of its activity. Further he describes the Republics of Central Asia as an important region for Chinese economic initiatives. Due to the specific nature of the SCO, as a forum for cooperation of the two regional powers, the author presents various aspects and effects of the Russian‑Chinese cooperation. He investigates the development of the economic co‑operation as well as economic integration of the associated states. The author shows future prospects for the SCO and foreseeable trends for the development of this organization. He presents a vision of a more and more close cooperation between the post‑Soviet area with the fast growing China.Key words: military cooperation, economic cooperation, Russian‑Chinese interaction, foreseeable trends of developmen

The research tool was a survey comprising eight open questions which the present author presented to five Polish literary writers: Marek Krajewski, Olga Tokarczuk, Przemysław Wojcieszek, Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk and Zyta Rudzka. this attitude is possible in everyday life. But it was in the daily practice of academic life of Professor ija
Lazari-Pawłowska, who to the author appears as the fulfillment of this ideal. The author gives reasons for such identification, especially in the description of the practice of seminars led by professor Pawłowska. The text indicates humanistic values of the ideal of “trustworthy guardian” and its universal nature and sources.

COMIRI – COMplexity Index of interventional Radiotherapy (brachytherapy) Implants: assessment of procedures based on type, equipment, and team
No full textHistorically, several classification systems have been used for brachytherapy, and they were based on the type of clinical purpose, type of implant and timing of the implant, dose-rate, and type of loading for treatment delivery. However, over the last decades, there have been some major technological advancements, including the introduction of image-guidance and possibility to modulate the dose delivered, which have led several authors (in order to highlight the differences between old technique and new approach) to label it in a different way by replacing “brachytherapy” with “interventional radiotherapy”. Modern interventional procedures involve several key aspects, which contribute to the complexity of implant phase, such as implant type, imaging used during the procedure, and role of multi-disciplinary team in operating room. By assigning scores to these procedural elements, it is possible to classify the procedure’s complexity using a COMIRI classification (COMplexity Index of interventional Radiotherapy Implants). The aim of the COMIRI classification system is to appropriately highlight the need for suitable resources based on the complexity level of different procedures in terms of personnel expertise, equipment availability, and multi-disciplinary teamwork

No full textCreating conditions for construction of extensive personal knowledge and mental acquaintance with the public knowledge should be the primary aim of teaching mathematics. To assist pupils in their comprehension of mathematics means to give a chance of independent choice of strategies of actions, of implementing into the educational process a number of diversified cognitive processes, in accordance to assumptions of cognitive psychology's findings. Viewing the current state of maths teaching, characterised by low activity on the part of pupils and providing them with scholastic knowledge, as unsatisfactory, the author planned and conducted action research. Its aim was to introduce a change towards enhancement of learning in the context of Polish schools. The author's search for effective ways of supporting pupils in their construction of knowledge is based on an application derived from England of the Maths on display strategy as a way of organising and holding a lesson, the primary aim of which is generation of stimulating and interesting instructional aids. The study has confirmed rich educational potential of the strategy of mathematical presentations
