Budaya Patriarki masyarakat Migran Bali Di Desa Kertoraharja Kecamatan Tomoni Timur Kabupaten Luwu Timur
Abstract
The patriarchal culture of the Balinese migrant community results in discrimination against women in various aspects. This study aims to determine the application of the patriarchal system to Balinese migrant communities in Kertoraharjo village and why this patriarchal system is still maintained. This research is a qualitative research, using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the application of this patriarchal system is embodied in Balinese customary or cultural rules that have been believed by previous generations. First, the difference in the value of children based on gender, boys are more important than girls. Second, division of tasks and roles covering three important domains; domestic, public, and religious rituals. Women do heavier work than men. Third, the division of inheritance. Women are not entitled to the inheritance of their parents or the assets acquired by their husbands after marriage, while men have full rights. This subordination to women is still maintained because of the strong influence of Balinese culture brought by migrant communities, the lack of education that women receive, the upbringing pattern that is passed down from generation to generation from the family environment.

Makassar City's New Social Movement Based on Literacy (Paradigma Institute Makassar Case Study)
Social movements are characterized by collectivity that acts based on a common goal. Until now, situations deemed less than ideal have sparked the emergence of social movements. The Paradigma Institute Makassar is a semi-formal organization that promotes change based on literacy issues. The literacy movement of the Paradigma Institute, viewed through the lens of new social movements, aims to foster social change by exploring social change issues through transformative actions like social science study classes, writing classes, and book discussion forums. The primary goal of this writing is to examine the connection between literacy issues and social change by analyzing social movements and program models that promote social change, all within the framework of the Paradigma Institute's vision as a new social movement. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. We conduct data analysis through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings reveal two main points. First, the Paradigma Institute is a semi-formal organization that operates based on a new social movement model to realize its vision and mission, including the aim of producing an enlightened society. Second, the change actions, such as social science study programs, writing classes, and book discussions, concretize the changes the organization pursues. In this digital era, Paradigma Institute also has the opportunity to expand its impact through the use of information technology, in the form of an organizational website, thus enabling broader and more sustainable social transformation
Community Involvement in Agritourism: A Participatory Approach to Rural Sustainable Development
Agritourism is a form of tourism that integrates the agricultural sector with tourism activities, aims to provide educational and recreational experiences for visitors and improve the welfare of rural communities through economic diversification. In Indonesia, the potential for agritourism is enormous thanks to the abundant natural and agricultural wealth. The active participation of local communities in the management of agritourism is the main key to the sustainability and success of this programme. Community participation can be realised through involvement in programme planning, implementation and evaluation, providing positive economic and social impacts. Support from various parties such as the government, private sector, and non-governmental organisations is essential to ensure the sustainability of agritourism. This research highlights the management of Tabarano Agro Hill in Tabarano Village, East Luwu Regency, showing how local community participation in agritourism management contributes significantly to sustainable rural development. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that community participation in various aspects of management, including decision-making, programme implementation, environmental maintenance, and marketing, improved the quality and attractiveness of agritourism, and provided sustainable economic, social, and environmental benefits for the local community
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
