Credible Group Stability in Many-to-Many Matching Problems

    No full text
It is known that in two-sided many-to-many matching problems, pairwise stable matchings may not be immune to group deviations, unlike in many- to-one matching problems (Blair 1988). In this paper, we show that pairwise stability is equivalent to credible group stability when one side has responsive preferences and the other side has categorywise- responsive preferences. A credibly group-stable matching is immune to any “executable” group deviations with an appropriate definition of executability. Under the same preference restriction, we also show the equivalence between the set of pairwise-stable matchings and the set of matchings generated by coalition-proof Nash equilibria of an appropriately defined strategic-form game.

Smooth functions with uncountably many zeros

In this short note we show that there exist uncountably generated algebras every non-zero element of which is a smooth function having uncountably many zeros. This result complements some recent ones by En o et al.The authors were supported by CNPq Grant 401735/2013-3 (PVE - Linha 2), MTM2012-34341, MEC Project MTM2013-47093-P, and Programa de Investigaci on y Desarrollo de la UPV, Referencia SP2012070. A new approach to institutional domain analysis: Multilevel research fronts structure

    No full text
The intellectual structure and main research fronts of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum of the National University of La Plata, Argentina is studied, based on the cocitation analysis of subject categories, journals and authors of their scientific publications collected in the Science Citation Index, CD-ROM version, for the period 1991–2000. The objective of this study is to test the utility of those techniques to explore and to visualize the intellectual structure and research fronts of multidisciplinary institutional domains. Special emphasis is laid on the identification of multilevel structures, by means of arrangements of subject categories cocitation analysis and journal cocitation analysis

HOMOGENIZED POLYNOMIALS AND CURVES WITH MANY POINTS

    No full text
These polynomials are used for the construction of Kummer coverings of the Hermitian field of functions, which has many places of degree one

Funciones de gobierno y seguridad ciudadana

The growth of the crimes usually is faced in many countries by increasing the budget of the agencies in charge to face the crime and the prison sentences, without obtaining good results. This paper proposes that a proper management does not resolve by itself the phenomenon of the citizen security, but an inadequate management exacerbates the insecurity. This means that the form to manage the security is important. It suggests an approach which understands the citizen security as one more of the assets that the government is obliged to provide to their citizens. Therefore, the proper functioning of the institutions requires collaboration of other agencies; likewise, the public policies designed to provide security must be part of the social policy of the government

La belleza y la emergencia climática

Very early on in the \u27History of Beauty\u27 Eco warns us that beauty is changeable over time. And here we find ourselves, in a difficult context of near wars, and recent pandemics; a fragile economy and, above all, a climate emergency that I suspect will be hard to leave, if ever. Many paradigms are shifting and many perceptions about the world around us, and also about architecture, are being reconsidered.

Tales curvas son obtenidas considerando p extensiones abelianas elementales del cuerpo de funciones racionales usando el operador traza TrFq/Fp.In the paper we give a generalization of two results of two results obtained by García and Stichtenoth ([G-S]) and use them of exhibit a method to construct curves over finite fields whose number of rational points is large compared to their genus. Such curves are induced by algebraic functions fields obtained from elementary abelain p-extensions of the rational function field Fq(x) using the trace operator TrFq/Fp

Spatially-localized time dependent solutions including turbulence and their interactions in 2D Kolmogorov flow

    No full text
In 2D Kolmogorov flow in small aspect ratio domains, spatially-localized solutions such as kink, traveling or time-dependent kink-antikink pars coexist. However, the conservation of the flow rate in the y direction strongly restrict combination of localized solutions and their positioning. We find that by adding a homogeneous flow U y their positioning is controlled and each of localized solutions including a spatially-localized chaos is isolated. Numerical results suggest that these isolated solutions can be elements constructing a whole flow
