Regional mantle heterogeneity regulates melt production along the Réunion hotspot-influenced Central Indian Ridge
To ascertain factors controlling melt production along a typical distal, 'hotspot-interacting' mid-ocean ridge, we investigated the extent and distribution of both plume-related and plume-unrelated basalt from the central Indian ridge (CIR) between 15°S and 20°S. Comprehensive geochemical data of fresh-quenched volcanic glasses and basalts were used. Variation of Sr, Nd, and Pb isotopic compositions and Nb/Zr, Ba/Nb, and Ba/La content were interpreted by mixing of three melt end members: the Indian depleted MORB mantle derived melt; radiogenic and enriched melt derived from source mantle for Rodrigues Ridge and the intermediate series of Mauritius Island (RE2, radiogenic enriched component 2); and radiogenic but depleted melt derived from source mantle for Gasitao Ridge (RD, radiogenic depleted component). On the basis of quantitative mantle melting and melt mixing model, results show that sources for RE2 and RD are geochemically distinct from those of the Réunion plume (RE1, radiogenic enriched melt component 1). Moreover, the geochemical variation of MORB of 15°S to 20°S is unrelated to contamination of the upper mantle by the Réunion plume. These results suggest strongly that plume-unrelated heterogeneity is widespread throughout the upper mantle. The chemical characteristics of RE2 are remarkably pronounced in basalt from the central portion of ridge segment 16 around 18°S, suggesting substantial magma production. The influence of RE2 decreases along with decreasing magma production to the north, and is only slightly identifiable in basalt from the northern part of segment 18. Although the influence of RE2 decreases somewhat to the south, basalts with extreme RE2 signature were produced in the center of segment 15 around 19°S, where magma production is high. In contrast to RE2, the geochemical signature of RD in basalt is geographically limited to two localities: the south end of segment 18 and the center of segment 15. However, these observations reveal that both RE2 and RD contribute strongly to magma production on segment 15. Results show that melting of ancient recycled plate materials with a low melting point regulates voluminous magma production along the CIR

A Case of Fibrosarcoma in Testicular Capsule
Although the neoplasms occurring in the testicular capsule s are relatively rare in frequency, the author has reported on one case of which tumor, firstly generated at the caudal portion of epididymis in a 21 years old male, was extirpated with epidiymis and again occured in testis after 9 months. From macroscopic and hist o logical findings, this case is probably the fibrosarcoma in testicular capsule generated in tunica vaginalis at the caudal portion of epididymis

Restudy of Wooden Slips Unearthed from Khotan in the British Library's Collections:Focusing on Contents and Natures of the Wooden Slips. Literature & History of the Western Regions, 6, pp.35-48.This paper focuses on Chinese wooden slips unearthed from Mazar-toghrak in Stein collections of the British Library and discusses their characters and functions. It's proved that the wooden slips can be dated back to the 15th year of Kaiyuan (727 A.D.), much earlier than the 15th year of Dali (780 A.D.) once presumed. Comparing with the recent discovery of wooden slips in Khotan, the author points out that they belong to the same period and their contents and natures can be interlinked as well. Therefore, the Chinese wooden slips might be found around Mazar-toghrak. The author believes when the government organ of Āskuīra country was established at Mazar-toghrak, a fortress might be built there at the same time, fulfilling vital traffic and military function between Kancheng town (shouzhuo) and Lincheng town (shouzhuo). In addition, the "camel and neddy feed" recorded on the wooden slips unearthed in Mazar-toghrak in Stein collections refers to grain for animals of the fortress
Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans
In this paper the author dealt with the case o n 30 years old male who showed clinical and histological findings corresponding to so-called Balanitis xerotica obliterans reported by Stiihmer. The pa t i ent was operated on his phimosis at the age of 18 and at that time urethral obturation was also pointed out by the physician. The symptom of urethral obturation became worse after the operation. The clinical findings c orresponded to the second type or Kraurosis alba among the 3 types classified by Peyre', and it was thought to be identical to Stiihmer's Balanitis xerotica obliterans after operation
外来薬物療法中の子どもの服薬アドヒアランスと親のアドヒアランスに影響を及ぼす要因
Problem: Although pharmacotherapy is an effective treatment for many psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents, medication adherence rates among children are low. This study clarifies factors affecting children's medication adherence and the role of parental involvement. Method: Patients aged 7–17 years with a history of psychotropic medication treatment and their mothers were included in this study. Each mother and child completed self-administered questionnaires. Thirty mother–child pairs who fully completed the questionnaires were included in the analysis. Results: Medication adherence was greater in children and mothers when mothers felt that “children's symptoms improved with treatment and medication.” Medication adherence in children and mothers significantly correlated with the child's reported trust in their parent. Conclusions:
The results suggest the need for psychosocial support that considers the influence of mothers on medication adherence in children treated in child psychiatry departments.長崎大学学位論文 学位記番号:博(医歯薬)甲第941号 学位授与年月日:平成29年3月8日Author: Masaharu Nagae, Hideyuki Nakane, Sumihisa Honda, Hiroki Ozawa and Hiroko HanadaCitation: Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing, 28(2), pp.109-117; 201
A simple linguistic approach to the Knobe effect, or the Knobe effect without any vignette
In this paper I will propose a simple linguistic approach to the Knobe effect, or the moral asymmetry of intention attribution in general, which is just to ask the felicity judgments on the relevant sentences without any vignette at all. Through this approach I was in fact able to reproduce the (quasi-)Knobe effects in different languages (English and Japanese), with large effect sizes. I shall defend the significance of this simple approach by arguing that our approach and its results not only tell interesting facts about the concept of intentional action, but also show the existence of the linguistic default, which requires independent investigation. I will then argue that, despite the recent view on experimental philosophy by Knobe himself, there is a legitimate role of the empirical study of concepts in the investigations of cognitive processes in experimental philosophy, which suggests a broadly supplementary picture of experimental philosophy today. Please contact the author before citing
The Effectiveness of Community-Based Development in Poverty Reduction : A Descriptive Analysis of a Women-Managed NGO in Rural Pakistan
To assess the targeting performance of community-based development activities and deduce the impact of such activities on poverty reduction, we implemented a survey of a non-governmental organization (NGO) in northwestern Pakistan. A distinct characteristic of this NGO is that it is managed mostly by women and its interventions are conducted through community-based organizations (COs), most of whose members are also female. This characteristic is rather unusual for a male-dominated society like Pakistan. Descriptive analyses of village, CO, and household level data shows that the NGO was able to target poorer villages. Villages with COs are characterized by lower adult literacy rates, lower availability of basic amenities, and higher susceptibility to natural disasters. With regard to household-level welfare indicators -- such as consumption, women’s empowerment, children’s school enrolment, and the weight-for-age of infants -- we found that the consumption levels of CO member households tended to be lower than that of households in non-CO villages. However, the difference between CO member households and non-member households in CO villages was insignificant, possibly owing to the mixing of the selection effect (i.e., poorer households are served by the NGO) and the causal effect of interventions on poverty reduction. On women’s empowerment and child schooling, CO member households tend to perform better than other households, suggesting the favorable impact of the interventions and/or the self-selection of such households vis-à-vis program participation.
A quantitative study on the developing vasclar system of animal tumors by scanning electron microscopic observation on vascular corrsion casts
A study of the relationship between the vasculature and cell poliferation characteristics give some insight into the mecanism of the tumor growth. So the author observed the corrosion casts of tumor microcirculation by scanning electron microscope and explored the mechanism by which tumor tissue develops. Then the facts mentioned below were clarified. 1) Tumor vessel growth was divided into 4 stage according to the chin vascular morophology: (1) slight capillary alteration; (2) formation of fine capillary netwark; (3) modification in arteries; (4) ncrosis. 2) To quantify these vascular changes, the auther measured vascular volum, diameters of the vessels, vascular surface area, length and numberof buds by about 400 sheet of photographs which obteined by SEM. In the tumor tissue the values changes characteristcally in each stage. From the first to second stage, neovascularization was high in the tumor. In the third and forth stage, these values decreasd rapidly. 3) The auther observed vascular regeneration and rev ealed that host vessel give rise to buds which grow in length and width to form sprouts meet, they fuse, giving rise to loops or crossconnection and ultimately to intricate netwarks
