    Get PDF
Abstract–A monolithic IC temperature transducer with an operating temperature range of- 125°C to +200”C has been designed, fabricated, and tested. The two-terminal device, which is fabricated using laser trimmed thin-film-on-silicon technology, is a calibrated temperature-dependent current source with an average output impedence of 10 Ma over the 3.5-V to 30-V range of input voltage. Overall absolute ac-curacies of +0.5 ° C from –75°C to + 150”C have been achieved on a scale of 1 pA/K under optimum operating conditions. I

The End of Capurro's Information Trilemma? (A Proposal of an Evolutionary-Ontological Solution)

    No full text
In this paper, the author pursues an analysis and interpretation of the concept of information from the perspective of evolutionary ontology in connection with the ambition of information science (and philosophy of information) to create a so-called unified theory of information. He draws attention to the problem of Capurro’s information trilemma, which is unsolvable in the context of traditional approaches to information in information science, or leads to various paradoxes. Hence, the author suggests an evolutionary-ontological solution to this problem based on the definition of information as an evolving (ontically creative) process. Marek TimkoSlezská univerzita v OpavěÚstav bohemistiky a knihovnictvíMasarykova třída 343/37746 01 Opava Článek je v angličtině

Luis Buñuel and Spain in the 1930s

    No full text
The bachelor thesis focuses on the phase of the 1930s in Spain. On grounds of movie production of Spanish director Luis Buñuel, it tries to zoom in and clarify the problems and political-economic situation in that era. Author devotes himself to three chosen spheres (anticlericalism, education, army) whose evolution from 19th century until the Second republic is investigated through the specialized literature, contemporary articles and movies. Emphasis is laid on the existence of chosen aspects in political-social level of that era, their presence and critique in selected works, whereby the thesis tries to offer an analysis of certain problems, which are closely associated with the spheres primarily examined in the bachelor thesis. Attention is also focused on the personality of Luis Buñuel, his political orientation and cultural terms of Spain in the 1930s

Spanish Civil War and Slovakia (1936-1939)

    No full text
The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of Czechoslovak-Spanish and Slovak-Spanish relations and contacts during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Through the elaboration and analysis of the Slovak historical literature and the press on the subject of the Spanish war, it tries to offer a complex view of the issue, taking into account the political, social and economic problems of the mentioned period in the domestic scene as well as in Spain. The author deals not only with the development of Slovak-Spanish relations and their imposition into international context, but also with a critical analysis of Slovak newspapers and literary works dealing with the subject of the Spanish conflict, which were issued during this period, through foreign and domestic academic literature as well as memories of direct participants. The aim of this thesis is to offer an impartial overview on the topic Slovakia and the Spanish Civil War, with emphasis on key aspects of Czechoslovak, Slovak and Spanish history

Interkulturalna komunikacija u romanima Kristijana Novaka

Hrvatski pisac Kristian Novak kroz društveno osjetljive teme diskriminacije i rasizma prikazuje „suživot“ različitih kultura u Hrvatskoj. Tema ovog rada je analiziranje elemenata interkulturalne komunikacije u njegova dva najpoznatija romana: „Črna mati zemla“ i „Ciganin ali najljepši“.Nowdays, when the process of globalization is a worldwide concept, and when we can say that culture interaction is our everyday life, we defined „interculturalism“ as a theoretical and practical approach to a relations between cultures. With a growth of public interest in those topis, also the Contemporary writers started using those topics in their creations. Croatian author Kristian Novak is using social responsive topics of discrimination and rasism to show coexistence of different cultures in Croatia. Primary goal of this paper is to analize elements of intercultural comunication in his two most popular novels: „Črna mati zemla“ and „Ciganin, ali najljepši“

Středisko ibero-amerických studiíCentre for Ibero-American StudiesFaculty of ArtsFilozofická fakult

The bachelor thesis focuses on the phase of the 1930s in Spain. Magnetically Triggered Nanocomposite Membranes: A Versatile Platform for Triggered Drug Release

    No full text
Author Manuscript 2012 March 9.Drug delivery devices based on nanocomposite membranes containing thermoresponsive nanogels and superparamagnetic nanoparticles have been demonstrated to provide reversible, on−off drug release upon application (and removal) of an oscillating magnetic field. We show that the dose of drug delivered across the membrane can be tuned by engineering the phase transition temperature of the nanogel, the loading density of nanogels in the membrane, and the membrane thickness, allowing for on-state delivery of model drugs over at least 2 orders of magnitude (0.1−10 μg/h). The zero-order kinetics of drug release across the membranes permit drug doses from a specific device to be tuned according to the duration of the magnetic field. Drugs over a broad range of molecular weights (500−40000 Da) can be delivered by the same membrane device. Membrane-to-membrane and cycle-to-cycle reproducibility is demonstrated, suggesting the general utility of these membranes for drug delivery.Ruth L.
