No full textDarbs veltīts pirmajam pilnajam A. S. Puškina romāna «Jevgeņijs Oņegins» tulkojumam latviešu valodā, kuru 1929. gadā veicis provinciāls dzejnieks un tulkotājs Herberts Dorbe. Pētījuma mērķis ir atklāt tulkotāja interpretācijas identitāti mākslas, vēsturiskās un kultūras vērtības aspektā. Darbs strukturēts trīs nodaļās. Pirmajā nodaļā ir aprakstītas un analizētas romāna «Jevgeņijs Oņegins» latviešu tulkojumu problēmas, ka arī sniegts kritisko rakstu pārskats par pirmo pilno latviešu tulkojumu. Otrā nodaļa satur H. Dorbes radošās laboratorijas analīzi dažādos aspektos. Trešā nodaļa ir empīrisks pētījums, kurā, izmantojot salīdzinošu analīzi, tiek atklātas dažādas tulkojuma transformācijas, kas ļauj noteikt H. Dorbes romāna «Jevgeņijs Oņegins» interpretācijas oriģinalitāti un vērtību. Pētījums var ieinteresēt valodniekus, literatūrzinātniekus, atdzejotājus, tulkotājus, literatūras skolotājus, kā arī atdzejojuma problēmu pētniekus.The Master’s thesis is devoted to the first complete translation into Latvian of A. S. Pushkin’s novel in verse “Eugene Onegin”, created by the provincial poet and translator Herberts Dorbe. The goal of the author of the MA paper is to identify the originality of interpretation from the aspect of the artistic, historical and cultural value. The Master’s thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter describes and analyzes the problems of translating the novel in verse “Eugene Onegin” into Latvian, and also provides an overview of critical articles to the first complete translation into Latvian. The second chapter presents an analysis of the artistic laboratory of H. Dorbe in various aspects. The third chapter is an empirical study, where, through the comparative analysis, various transformations are discovered that reveal the originality and value of H. Dorbe’s free interpretation of the novel in verse “Eugene Onegin”. The study may be of interest to linguists, literary critics, translators, teachers of literature, as well as researchers of problems of poetic translation

No full textAbstractExpression analyses of Nrt2 plant genes have shown a strict correlation with root nitrate influx mediated by the high-affinity transport system (HATS). The precise assignment of NRT2 protein function has not yet been possible due to the absence of heterologous expression studies as well as loss of function mutants in higher plants. Using a reverse genetic approach, we isolated an Arabidopsis thaliana knock-out mutant where the T-DNA insertion led to the complete deletion of the AtNrt2.1 gene together with the deletion of the 3′ region of the AtNrt2.2 gene. This mutant is impaired in the HATS, without being modified in the low-affinity system. Moreover, the de-regulated expression of a Nicotiana plumbaginifolia Nrt2 gene restored the mutant nitrate influx to that of the wild-type. These results demonstrate that plant NRT2 proteins do have a role in HATS

Nitrate taken up by the roots can then be translocated from the root to the leaves and the seeds. In this work, the function of the ATNRT2.7 gene, one of the seven members of the NRT2 family in Arabidopsis, was investigated. High expression of the gene was detected in reproductive organs and peaked in dry seeds. beta-Glucuronidase or green fluorescent protein reporter gene expression driven by the ATNRT2.7 promoter confirmed this organ specificity. We assessed the capacity of ATNRT2.7 to transport nitrate in Xenopus laevis oocytes or when it is expressed ectopically in mutant plants deficient in nitrate transport. We measured the impact of an ATNRT2.7 mutation and found no difference from the wild type during vegetative development. By contrast, seed nitrate content was affected by overexpression of ATNRT2.7 or a mutation in the gene. Finally, we showed that this nitrate transporter protein was localized to the vacuolar membrane. Our results demonstrate that ATNRT2.7 plays a specific role in nitrate accumulation in the seed
