Brechts Erzählgedicht „Der Schuh des Empedokles“ entstand 1935 und wurde 1939 unter den „Chroniken“ in den Svendborger Gedichten veröffentlicht. Schon sein Titel scheint einen bewussten und parodierenden Bezug zu Hölderlins Trauerspiel "Der Tod des Empedokles" offen zu legen, den aber in der diesbezüglichen Forschung abgelehnt war, indem auf Diogenes Laertius’ Leben und Meinungen berühmter Philosophen als einzige Quelle hingewiesen wurde. Der Beitrag versucht, den Text als Thematisierung des Sterbens vom Philosophen und seiner doxographisch und literarisch schon vielfach gestalteten Todesarten zu lesen: Die Aufdeckung bisher unbekannter bzw. unbemerkt gebliebener Quellen (Strabo, Hölderlin) ermöglicht eine Neudeutung des Gedichts. Parodie und Entmythisierung kennzeichnen einen Zugang zur Antike, der zwischen „Berichtigung alter Mythen“ und gegenmythische Aufwertung der „irdisch[en], abgetragen[en], greifbar[en]“ Tatsachen (Z. 53) schon einige Züge der späteren "Antigone"-Bearbeitung aufweist.
The philosopher’s death. Brecht’s poem “Der Schuh des Empedokles”
Brecht’s poem “Der Schuh des Empedokles” was written in 1935 and published in 1939 in the section “Chroniken” of the "Svendborger Gedichte". The very title seems to establish a conscious and parodic link to Hölderlin’s tragedy "Der Tod des Empedokles". Former criticism, however, denied any intertextual relation between the two texts, considering Diogenes Laertius’ "Life and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers" as the only source. In this paper an attempt is made to interpret the poem as a critical review of the philosopher’s death and of his several “ways of dying”, which the doxographic and literary tradition already conveyed in manifold variations. The discovery of unknown or so far neglected sources (Strabo, Hölderlin) leads to a new reading of Brecht’s chronicle: parody and demystification characterize an approach to antiquity which, in its melting of “Berichtigung alter Mythen” and anti-mythical revaluation of the “irdisch[en], abgetragen[en], greifbar[en]” facts, shows some similarities to the later "Antigone"-transformation

No full textWe classify super-symmetric solutions of theminimalN = 2 gauged Euclidean supergravity in four dimensions. The solutions with an anti-self-dual Maxwell field give rise to anti-self-dual Einstein metrics given in terms of solutions to the SU(∞) Toda equation and more general three-dimensional Einstein-Weyl structures. Pengukuran Kesesuaian Kawasan Transit Blok M, Jakarta Terhadap Kriteria Konsep TOD (Transit Oriented Development)
No full textTerletak diantara central business district Kota Jakarta, Blok M yang merupakan salah satu kawasan strategis memiliki potensi dikembangkan berdasarkan prinsip dari Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Hal ini juga didukung dari dokumen perencanaan yang menyatakan bahwa kawasan Blok M, Jakarta merupakan kawasan yang direncanakan dan dikembangkan berdasarkan standar TOD. Konsep TOD merupakan suatu pendekatan rekayasa ruang yang terfokus pengembangannya di sekitar titik transit. Ruang yang dikembangkan nantinya memiliki ciri yakni densitas yang tinggi, diversitas yang beragam serta desain kawasan yang ramah terhadap pejalan kaki. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis spatial query dan perhitungan rata-rata untuk mengukur tingkat kesesuaian kawasan transit Blok M terhadap kriteria TOD. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa tingkat kesesuaian kawasan transit Blok M, Jakarta berdasarkan dari kriteria minimal yang ada dalam konsep TOD hanya sebesar 85,215%. Artinya pengembangan kawasan Blok M, tingkat kesesuaiannya belum sepenuhnya memenuhi kriteria TOD. Secara keseluruhan kawasan Blok M sudah memenuhi ciri densitas yang tinggi, namun diveritas dan desain kawasan yang ramah pejalan kaki masih belum sesuai dengan konsep TO
The Impact of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) on Retail Property Rental Value in Jakarta's Block M Area
No full textThis study aims to analyze the impact of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) development on the rental value of retail properties in the Blok M area, Jakarta. The background of this research is based on the increasing adoption of TOD as a solution to traffic congestion and increased accessibility in urban areas. This research uses a qualitative method with an approach to interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the rental value of retail properties after the implementation of TOD, especially in three main shopping centers: Blok M Square, Blok M Plaza, and Blok M Mall. The percentage increase in rental prices per year reaches an average of 15%. These findings show that TOD contributes positively to the increase in retail property value in areas with high accessibility. In conclusion, TOD has an important role in supporting the economic growth of urban areas through increasing the value of retail properties

Conducting visitor travel survey for a TOD – case study from South East Queensland
No full textAlthough Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) are viewed as a means of reducing private car usage and increasing the use of sustainable modes of transport like walking, cycling and public transport; very little proof has been found. To prove this assumption travel data from various TODs need to be studied. As a beginning to this approach, this study aims to determine a suitable methodology for collecting travel data for visitors of a TOD and presents the findings from preliminary data analysis of a case study TOD. This paper demonstrates the methodology followed and observations made while conducting travel surveys for visitors of the case study TOD. The travel characteristics of visitors are explained with the help of mode shares and trip lengths obtained from\ud
